Was in a car accident in my Acadia. Someone hit me going 55 miles an hour on my front passenger side. My airbag never deployed and my seat belt did not lock causing me to fly around. I didn’t see a recall for either of those things
Recall - no parts available- “If airbag is deployed metal fragments could cause serious injury or death” I feel uncomfortable every time I seatbelt myself in to drive. Get the parts and fix the recall please!

I have a 2015 Acadia Denali with 95000 miles. I am getting the "service side detection system" message whenever I start my car, and the blindspot lights, cross-traffic detection etc. do not function at all. A"nationwide" problem I was told. I was also told that it would cost $800+ to replace if/when the part was available. I am really frustrated with this and was wondering a) whether this malfunction is a part of a service recall (given it is apparently a "nationwide" problem); b) whether the $800 replacement cost is accurate given that the part appears to be available for under $200 online; and c) whether purchasing this part will even fix the problem given that other forum members have stated that once this issue comes up, it continues to malfunction, even after the part is replaced. Very disappointed right now, particularly since this issue has been recurring on a number of GMC vehicles for at least 5 years.

Look on the original report here. “Airbag module” “If the driver airbag deploys may result in injury or death.” It’s been since May 10, 2023 and no replacement or solution.
GM has a recall on my vehicle since May. The recall states possible death to vehicle occupants. I have called weekly and they continue to tell me a remedy will be available soon, last week they even told me one was available which turned out to be false. The fact that GM has yet to handle this recall, and continue to force myself and my family to drive a dangerous vehicle around, is absolutely ridiculous. They refuse to give me a loaner vehicle or help with any info. Please help.
Since this recall, in the last month my car now is telling me air bags need to be serviced. I am scared to drive in fear i get hit and the shards will erupt. This is a ticking time bomb. I get told by GMC parts are not available, then i get told they don't know what the fix is; Which one is it. i have asked them to give me a substantial Owners Loyalty compensation so i can get a new vehicle and they keep dragging their feet. I am not the only person in this but this is [XXX] right scary. Give us 7500K as compensation towards a new GM or Chevy vehicle. i need answers. i have spoken to them 9 times and have documented each call. this is over the last 5 -6 weeks. I am filing a complaint for the Takata air bag replacement. The recall was issued in May, 2023. It is now October and GM does not have a date when they can fix it. 5 months to come up with a repair parts for a airbag that could kill my family seems a bit to long. They will not offer a loaner car, special rebate, etc. GM just expects us to drive around with a possible grenade right in front of our chest.

Recall Number: 23V334000. GMC Acadia General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles. The driver's air bag inflator may explode during deployment, due to a manufacturing defect. Recall consequence An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death. Recall action. Dealers will replace the driver's air bag module, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 26, 2023. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N232404980. I have called and spoke with GMC in Gurnee Illinois and was told "there is no remedy for this recall". I will be driving upwards of 11 hours and feel it is unsafe and unreasonable for them to not change something that could be potentially deadly.

I received a letter 2 months for a fix for airbag recall; however, there still isn’t a fix. GMC is refusing to do anything and they insist that it’s safe for me to continue driving my car when they know that the driver side airbag is unsafe. They said it will get fixed whenever they get the parts and just continue driving it until then.

No airbags deployed in the event of an accident. As a result of hydroplaning, my vehicle's drivers' side slammed into the concrete median on the highway before spinning out across the highway. I would have expected side/curtain airbags to deploy which would have prevented my children from hitting their heads on the windows during impact.
Filing a complaint with NHTSA that GM does not have a date when the front driver airbag can be replaced per recall Number [XXX]. This is a very dangerous airbag currently in my 2015 GM Arcadia [XXX] . The vehicle is not safe to drive and per phone call with GM customer service today 8/3/2023 there is no date when parts/replacement airbag will be available to order to replace the current airbag and eliminate the daily dangerous situation every time I drive this vehicle. This is UNACCEPTABLE since problems with these Takata airbags have been existing since 1999!!!!! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
