Defect. Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Veloster N, 2019-2023 Genesis G70, 2022-2023 Elantra N, and Kona N vehicles. The fuel pump may fail, which can result in a loss of drive power.

Risk. A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update engine control module software. In addition, dealers will inspect and replace the fuel pump assembly, as necessary. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning September 9, 2024. Some interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed September 3, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's numbers for this recall are 262 and 023G.

Defect. Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Genesis G80, 2017-2022 G90, and 2019-2022 G70 vehicles equipped with a 3.3-liter V6 turbocharged engine. The left turbocharger oil feed pipe may deteriorate and leak oil.

Risk. An oil leak in the presence of hot engine components can increase the risk of an engine compartment fire.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the left turbocharger oil feed pipe, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 3, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 019G. This recall expands and replaces recall number 19V-538. Vehicles previously repaired under 19V-538 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Defect. Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Genesis, 2017-2019 Genesis G80, Genesis G90, and 2019 Genesis G70 vehicles. Water may enter the starter solenoid and cause an electrical short, which can result in an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.

Risk. An engine compartment fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install a remedy relay kit in the engine junction box, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's numbers for this recall are 254(H) and 018G(G).

Defect. Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020 Sonata and Sonata Hybrid, and 2019 Genesis G70 vehicles. The trunk latch may become damaged, preventing the opening of the trunk from the inside. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 401, "Internal Trunk Release."

Risk. A person inside the trunk compartment may become trapped, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect the trunk latch and replace the trunk latch base, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 26, 2022. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 221/010G.

Defect. Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Genesis G70 vehicles. The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module could malfunction and short circuit.

Risk. An electrical short circuit inside the ABS module could cause an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.

Remedy. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the remedy is complete. Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 6, 2021. Owners can contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 007G.

Vehicle received recall 023G (TSB 24-01-076G) on 4/30/2025 at 42,910 miles for P0088 fuel rail pressure issue, involving ECU update to high-pressure fuel pump control logic. No codes were present at that time and no physical inspection of the pump was performed — only a code scan. Vehicle had no check engine light prior to this recall. On 9/16/2026 at 46,471 miles, P0088 code returned, diagnosed at an independent repair shop. Concerned the recall fix did not address the underlying defect

The contact owns a 2019 Genesis G70. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing starting issues. Additionally, while driving 15-20 MPH and coming to a stop, the vehicle stalled and lost motive power. The vehicle was turned off and restarted and was able to drive to the intended destination. The contact stated that the failure recurred and progressively worsened. While researching the failure online, the contact discovered that the failure was a common issue. The vehicle was initially taken to the dealer, where an unknown software update was performed, and the check engine warning light illuminated during the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced; however, it was determined that the failure was not covered under warranty because a specific DTC indicating that the fuel mixture was too rich was not retrieved. The manufacturer, Genesis, was notified of the failure by phone, filed a case, and scheduled a service appointment with a dealer for the contact. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

I own a 2019 Genesis G70 3.3T Twin-Turbo V6, VIN [XXX], with approximately 122,000 miles. Twice within approximately two weeks, the vehicle has suddenly and unexpectedly experienced a near-total loss of propulsion while being driven. Without warning, the engine begins shaking and sputtering severely, the Check Engine Light illuminates, and the vehicle provides almost no usable acceleration. The engine does not completely stall but operates barely above a stalled condition. After safely stopping, turning the vehicle off, and restarting it, normal engine operation and full power immediately return and the Check Engine Light extinguishes. The vehicle may then operate normally for days before the condition occurs again without warning. This creates a serious safety hazard because the failure could occur while traveling at highway speeds, merging, changing lanes, or crossing traffic. A sudden near-total loss of propulsion under those circumstances could result in a serious or fatal collision. I have found reports from other Genesis G70 owners describing substantially similar intermittent loss-of-power conditions that temporarily resolve after an ignition restart. Genesis has also issued safety recalls involving G70 powertrain-related conditions, including NHTSA Campaigns 24V-528 and 24V-191. I have formally notified Genesis Motor America in writing and requested immediate investigation and repair. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA has an independent record of this recurring

I had the known reported issue TSB 25-BE-004G repaired and even after repair there is a burning wire smell that the dealer claims they can’t replicate. We had the same issue with Genesis Plano initially and after driving the vehicle out of state we were stranded and took it to Genesis of Peoria where the issue was diagnosed. We are encountering the issue again and it is a fire risk hazard.

Vehicle is currently disabled due to Open Recall Campaign #262/023G (NHTSA Recall Number 24V528000) for High-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure. On 05/19/2026, the vehicle suffered total loss of drive power at highway speeds (Hwy 16/211), creating an immediate hazard. The manufacturer failed to provide a timely remedy, initially misdirecting me to a dealer unable to service the model. Genesis and the local dealer now refuse to provide a courtesy tow to an authorized facility, despite the vehicle being disabled by their own safety defect. The vehicle has been stranded and unrepaired for over a month. This leaves my son at risk, as he must walk along dangerous highways during Extreme Heat Advisories while managing a spinal injury. The impact of being without a reliable, functioning vehicle at this address is not merely an inconvenience—it is a critical safety issue. We reside in a remote area where even emergency responders (EMS) have been unable to locate our entrance when responding to a recent medical emergency involving a hiatal hernia. Being without a vehicle that can reliably transport us or navigate to a main road is not a sustainable or safe position, and by refusing to remedy this recall defect, Genesis is directly contributing to this hazardous environment. UNINTENDED VEHICLE MOVEMENT AT STARTUP - POTENTIAL CLUTCH DEFECT On January 17, 2026, at approximately 1:59 PM, I started my 2019 Genesis G70 (manual transmission) while parked in my garage. The vehicle was in Neutral with the parking brake engaged. I depressed the clutch pedal fully before pressing the start button, with no foot on the accelerator. Immediately upon starting, the vehicle lurched backward at significant speed without any driver input to accelerator, gear shift, or parking brake release. I attempted to stop the motion by pressing the brake pedal firmly but the vehicle continued moving. The vehicle struck the garage door frame (bending the driver's door backward), nearly pinning my [XXX] son between the door and garage structure. The car continued across my driveway, struck my neighbor's parked Lexus RX 350, then crashed into the neighbor's garage door and siding. The contact owns a 2019 Genesis G70. The contact stated that upon advising a friend that the turbocharger oil feed pipe was made of plastic, the contact was informed that there was a recall related to the issue. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was confirmed that another dealer had marked NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V191000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); as completed even though the recall repair was not performed on the vehicle. The dealer and the district engineers inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the recall repair was not performed. The dealer notified the manufacturer of the issue and sent supporting pictures to the manufacturer; however, the manufacturer denied coverage after receiving several claims from the dealer. The dealer then advised the contact to report the issue to the NHTSA Hotline because the vehicle was at risk of catching on fire. The contact had not yet experienced a failure.

The contact stated that several complaints were filed. The contact stated that coverage for the repair was denied. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

I have contacted Genesis multiple times about finding an authorized repair center to complete the recall there are none in my city or state they keep telling me that their site is down and that they will call me back but they still have not it's been two weeks I've called multiple times and have no resolution to the recall on my g70 On the website it says Hyundai dealerships should be able to fix the recall both Hyundai dealerships in Albuquerque Larry h Miller have refused to do the recall saying that they can't do it I've been told this is a pretty dangerous situation and my car can catch fire and neither the Genesis manufacturer or the Hyundai dealerships are willing to help me at all I did not buy it from a Hyundai dealership I bought it from Rich Ford as one of those certified used cars.

I'd like to note that I've seen a large amount of 2019 Genesis G70 RWD drivers make the same complaint as myself, the VSS completely and suddenly just stopped working. No heavy or hazardous driving to report. The VSS ties into the ABS, forward collision, and blind-spot safety cameras making them all inoperable.

Dealership refuses to make repair to fuel pump under recall and emailed me as follows: Cause of failure is the fuel pressure regulator in the high pressure fuel pump, the vehicle is setting DTC P0091, the vehicle does have an open campaign for inspection of DTC P0088 and if the vehicle does have P0088 it calls for replacement of the high pressure fuel pump. However since the vehicle is not setting DTC P0088 I cannot warranty under campaign 24-01-076G

- The shifter inhibitor switch (also known as gear position sensor or range sensor) malfunctioned, triggering a check engine light and causing a warning message on the dashboard indicating “Shifter Malfunction.” Yes, the component is still installed and available for inspection upon request. - The malfunction may cause the vehicle to fail to recognize or shift properly between gears, increasing the risk of sudden loss of drive, inability to shift out of park, or unexpected behavior during driving or parking. This creates a potential safety hazard, especially in traffic or on inclines. - Yes, the issue was diagnosed and confirmed by a Genesis dealership, which recommended replacing the shifter inhibitor switch to resolve the problem. - No, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives at this time. Only the dealership has performed diagnostic work. - Yes, the check engine light appeared along with an on-screen warning that read “Shifter Malfunction.” These symptoms appeared and prompted the inspection.

Component that failed: Driver-side mirror actuator on my 2019 Genesis G70 3.3T (power-folding, auto-dimming mirror). It intermittently malfunctions by tilting completely up or down without input, making it impossible to see out of the mirror while driving. Safety risk: Yes — this defect significantly compromises visibility on the driver’s side, especially when changing lanes or merging. It has nearly caused multiple accidents due to blind spot obstruction. Reproduction/confirmation: Yes — the issue was originally diagnosed and repaired under warranty by Genesis of Cumming in July 2023. The exact same issue has recurred. Genesis of Gwinnett has confirmed the mirror needs replacement but refuses coverage. Inspection: The vehicle has been inspected by multiple Genesis dealerships and was referred from Classic Collision (where mirror was replaced during accident repair). All agree the part is malfunctioning again, but Genesis Motor America has refused further assistance. Warning lamps/messages: There were no warning lights, but the failure presents physically as the mirror moving on its own without any driver input and staying locked in an unusable position until manually readjusted — sometimes repeatedly during the same drive. Assessment: This is a safety-critical failure that Genesis previously repaired under warranty and has now refused to take responsibility for. The issue affects visibility and endangers both the driver and others on the road.

Oil pressure sensor in the engine failed. This issue is critical and unsafe due to driver distraction and making sure their engine will not seize. I had to pull over on the side of the highway, and risk endangering myself and others. The problem has been confirmed my multiple independent shops and dealers, and a lot of other owners of this vehicle have been experiencing the same issue. The vehicle has not been inspected by the police, only by the dealer. Their argument is that it is not covered under warranty and it does not violate safety regulations. There were no symptoms of the issue whatsoever. Only a warning lamp as soon as it occurred, freaking out drivers.

On my 2019 G70, the A/C started blowing warm air and had the dealership diagnosis come back with a leaking evaporator. After doing about 20 minutes of research, I have found multiple forums talking about this failing after about 5 years or 50k-60k miles. I even was able to confirm from the service advisor that the A/C on a lot of early Genesis models come in for the same or similar repairs. For a part that typically lasts 10-15 or the life of the car in most makes, this is extremely concerning, especially living in areas where it is very hot most of the year. I have had the car inspected by the dealer and two independent repair shop and all were able to reproduce the same diagnosis. There were no indicators that this would be a potential issue from my past general maintenance services at the dealership and no symptoms that would lead me to believe that anything with the A/C was starting to fail. One day while driving, the cold air just stopped and was only blowing warm air. Outside of general discomfort while driving for more than several minutes, this is a major safety concern, like I stated above, and being in a very hot environment almost year-round, not having A/C in my car isn't really up for discussion.

Got an oil change on [XXX] , and 8 days after my oil light turned on. When I'm driving it turns off. When I'm on a stand still it turns on. When I give it a little gas on a stand still it turns off. My local Genesis Dealership thinks my Oil pressure switch can be failing. These cars are manufactured in Korea and have had a recall on them in Korea for similar issues since around 2021 of November. 5 times in the last 3 months the vehicle stalled while coming to a stop to put in park once, and 4 other times when the vehicle was off and parked, then started. The vehicle immediately began to stall out sounding as if it wasn't getting enough fuel. The last 2 times it stalled when being started, the vehicle remained on once I gave it a little gas by pressing the gas pedal when the stall started. The dealership is aware and performed a software update stating no components needed replaced and to keep an eye on it and a record of when it happens. Although it's believed to be an issue with the fuel pump, this specific one is not listed under the fuel pump recall.

The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the dealer informed the contact there was no earlier availability to diagnose the vehicle. The dealer referred the contact to Napleton's West Palm Beach Hyundai (2301 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33409), where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the GDI fuel pump. The second dealer informed the contact that the recall repair was not performed correctly and referred the contact back to the first dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer attempted to contact the first dealer, but the first dealer had been unreachable. However, the oil pressure light seems to flash on and off when it wants too. After doing an oil change every 3,500k miles, it started to turn on recently. I’ve checked the oil and everything seems to be fine. I’ve seen multiple forums with others having the same defect and since the car is made in Korea, Korea has a recall for the same exact issue.Some people are being turned away from shops because of the location of oil pressure sensor but also cracking the aluminum the sensor sits in or in some the timing cover. Although the sensor only turns off when the car is higher rpm’s and driving, it’s still annoying to deal with when it’s a common defect with genesis but yet not a recall.
