2020 Forest River Cedar Creek

Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2004-2024 Cedar Creek and 2006-2024 Puma fifth wheels trailers. The overcurrent protection from the trailer battery may have been incorrectly routed, allowing the wires to be pulled out of the junction box.

Risk. A loose wire can cause a short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will reroute the wires to the protected side of the mini-beaker, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 10, 2024. Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Coachmen Cross Country, 2015 Coachmen Encore, 2016-2020 Coachmen Mirada, 2018-2021 Coachmen Sportscoach, 2019-2021 Forest River Berkshire, 2011-2016 Forest River Blue Ridge, 2014-2019 Forest River Cardinal, 2014-2020 Forest River Cedar Creek, 2014-2021 Forest River Georgetown, 2019 Forest River Legacy, and 2017-2018 Forest River Riverstone recreational vehicles equipped with Hehr 6400 Series windows. The adhesive that bonds the vented portion of the window may fail.

Risk. Adhesive failure may cause the vent portion of the window to detach, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect the windows, and replace the vent if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 2, 2021. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-8600. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-1380.

Defect. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2020 Cedar Creek trailers. The residential stove may have been installed too close to the window valance, potentially resulting in a fire.

Risk. A fire can increase the risk of an injury.

Remedy. Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fabric valance with a non-combustible valance and reposition the stove to prevent the start of a fire, free of charge. The recall began March 5, 2020. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-593-4000. Forest River's number for this recall is 20-1136.

While driving down the road at highway speeds (65-68 M.P.H.) the "under belly" of the 2020 Cedar Creek 5th wheel trailer became dislodged and fell onto the freeway. Large sections of plastic (Estimating 36" X 48") as well as insulation was thrown onto the highway. After further inspection one could see the brackets holding the wooden cross member beams into place were only fastened with one sheet metal screw. The brackets were designed to have two sheet metal screws holding the bracket to the frame of the trailer. It was also noted wooden cross member beams were never fastened to the brackets. (There are no screw holes present indicating the beams were ever secured to the brackets.) The underbelly would have been secured to the cross member beams which may have been the cause of the failure resulting in the plastic and debris to be dislodged and falling onto the freeway.

ALL FOUR OF OUR CASTLE ROCK ST TIRES ON OUR TRAVEL TRAILER ARE SHOWING PREMATURE CRACKS IN THE SIDEWALL AND WHERE THE TREAD MEETS THE SIDEWALL. THIS COULD LEAD TO A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE TIRE AT HIGH SPEED. THESE TIRES HAVE BEEN IN USE LESS THAN 18 MONTHS.

2020 CEDAR CREEK 38ERD. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO BROKEN LEAF SPRING BRACKET WHICH RESULTED IN A SHIFTED AXLE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER WAS AWAITING DIRECTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER. FOR PARTS AND REPAIR. *JS

LEAF SPRING BRACKET OR AXLE MOUNT CAME LOOSE CAUSING THE AXLE TO COME LOOSE ON DRIVERS SIDE CAUSING THE WHOLE RV TO FISH TAIL - LUCKILY NO BODILY INJURY OCCURRED. THIS HAPPENED ON STATE RT 22 NEAR CONWAY SOUTH CAROLINIA. INCIDENT DATE WAS APRIL 7, 2020. THE DEALER HAS PROVIDED LIMITED INFORMATION ON REPAIR - WAITING FOR PARTS. CONTACTED FACTORY AND THEY ALSO STATED WAITING ON 3 PARTY VENDOR PARTS. NO EXPLANATION ON WHY THIS HAPPENED. AFTER SOME INTERNET SEARCHING FOUND THE ATTACHED PDF AND ALSO COPY OF LETTER SENT TO CEDAR CREEK.

UPON TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT WITH A VERY SMALL INCLINE AT APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES PER HOUR, THE REAR OF THE FIFTH WHEEL BOTTOMED OUT & SCRAPED THE PAVEMENT CAUSING IT TO RIP OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE BACK CAP. AS A RESULT OF THE BACK CAP BEING PULLED AWAY FROM THE FRAME, IT ALSO CAUSED US TO HAVE TO PULL THE FIFTH WHEEL HOME WITHOUT ANY BRAKE LIGHTS, HAZARD LIGHTS OR TURN SIGNALS, WHICH IS A HAZARD TO US & OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. THE REAR OF THE FIFTH WHEEL SITS ENTIRELY TOO LOW TO GROUND & THIS WILL HAPPEN EVERY TIME IT IS PULLED TO A NEW LOCATION UNLESS THE DRIVEWAYS ARE PERFECTLY LEVEL WITH THE HIGHWAY.*JB
