While on the freeway, my passenger door unlatches and opens. The warning indicator goes off that a door is open and it is free from the locking mechanism, requiring the door be opened and pulled closed while in motion. The door has done this repeatedly for over a year. Most recently, it opened and almost hit another vehicle on the road. This is incredibly dangerous and a panic inducing concern that occurs with no advanced notice. The door has been checked and verified as securely fastened before departing every trip and it still happens.

Car has a 6-speed manual transmission, which means it has a clutch and clutch pedal. The clutch pedal began squeaking when letting it up after engagement. Then it stopped depressing the plunger on the clutch engagement sensor preventing the clutch pedal to be depressed 100%. After inspection it was revealed the clutch pedal pivot point at the top where the pivot collar holds the pedal in alignment with the pedal assembly with the brake pedal is cracked. This forces the pedal to the left and out of alignment, which prevents the pedal from engaging properly when pressed, and fails to depress the pedal switch. This pivot connection is made via a weld where the collar goes through the pedal arm. This weld is insufficient and has cracked most of the way around the collar. The only way to continue using the pedal is to push the pedal to the right and take advantage of the increase lateral play while depressing it rather than straight up and down. It can prove challenging while leaving from a stop or stopping the car since the sensor plunger can hang up and not allow the clutch to be pressed in, which could make the driver to force the transmission out of gear to stop the car. This can be very challenging in first gear in heavy traffic.

The 2015-17 all have the same issue with the ac system as a whole, it is very faulty and not safe. This is due to a manufacturing defect. The ac constantly blows hot air even when on cold and only on to the windshield which causes visibility issues which could be fatal for me or anyone on the road. I went to ford yesterday to ask about the issue which I was told “we only have one person today that can look at it” and was later told that he wouldn’t take a look, without any reasoning. I had to go to a different company to get my car diagnosed. As I stated before this is a occurring issue with the year make and model of my vehicle.
My mustang with approximately 41,000 miles now needs a NEW engine ($8,100) because of these known issues with these EcoBoost engines. How come they are allowed to sell lemons to the American people??

My 2017 Mustang Convertible gave no warning to suddenly have no access to the trunk. The key fob doesn't open it. The inside button does not work. The seat doesn't fold down. There is no actual key hole to use. I am woman almost 70 years old. What if I have a flat tire? Everything I need for a flat tire is in the trunk. My first Aid kit is on the trunk. This is a serious problem and a poor design. I am still waiting for the dealer to fix the recall on the back up camera. I think both problems, the back up camera AND the trunk issue are in the same wiring harness. I sure hope I don't get a flat.

I have a safety recall on my vehicle. It is for the rearview camera on my Mustang. Safety Recall Notice 22S06/NHTSA Recall 22V082. We took the vehicle to the dealership for diagnostic and then back again for repair in October 2022. The service department replaced the wiring harness but did not replace the camera. The wiring wiring. Less than a month the camera failed again and I harness point of failure was due to the trunk lid closing on the wiring which I believe has also compromised the camera due to inconsistent connectivity due to faulty am being told by Ford that I would have to pay out of pocket to get this camera replaced. This is very unsafe when backing up and puts me at risk for a crash. Ford's failure to address this safety hazard should be reviewed by National Traffic and Motor Vehicle department. Can you please help me?

At times the trunk does not open. It is unsafe to put anything in the trunk because you do not know when it will open and not open. It has been unable to open a few times and currently it has been unable to open for a while now. Not sure if it has any connection to the rear view camera on the trunk.

I had a recall repaired on my 2017 Ford Mustang at a Ford dealership, the recall repair had to do with the backup/rearview camera not working properly. After they repaired the wiring in the trunk compartment, the back up camera is still not working properly and becomes blank or distorted when putting the vehicle in reverse. NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
