I purchased the vehicle new and have driven it 21085 miles. Since I've owned it, I have had to add 23 quarts of additional oil to keep it full (1qt. every 500-1000 miles). After a couple complaints to Ford, they have advised me that this amount of oil consumption in this vehicle is normal. My warranty expires in March and I'm concerned about the cost of repair after the warranty is up. From a safety standpoint, I'm concerned if the engine were to run out of oil in a traffic situation. I am 74 years old and use the car for weekend, summer pleasure. I don't race it and don't allow others to drive it. Please let me know if other similar vehicles have this issue and if anything can be done. Thank you.

My car is a single owner car, that has documentation of regular oil changes, engine upkeep, and general maintenance since its purchase in 2016. No major issues had been experienced until August, 2023. While driving the car home from work, I felt an immediate loss of power from the engine, my a/c went out, and an error flashed saying the temperature sensor for the cylinder heads showed the engine was overheating. So, in 100+ °F weather, I pulled the car over and turned it off. I let it sit for just over 15 minutes before turning it back on, only to find the car was still in failsafe mode. With less than five miles to return home, I drove, a car that refused to get up to 25 mph in the blazing heat (and no a/c), back home. I immediately called my local Ford dealership and set up an appointment to bring it in the next week, their soonest available appointment. In the meantime, I had to find people to carpool to work with. The next Monday, the car is brought in, and that day I’m informed the cylinder head cracked and I’d need a new engine. I couldn’t believe it. I’d always taken care of my car, never put it under any type of undue stress, how could the cylinder head have cracked? The dealership explained the damage was due to a well-known defect in the design of the engine. I was still flabbergasted. The engine fails, not through fault of the user, but from bad design on the part of the manufacturer, and I’m still the one responsible to pay $8,000 for a new engine? I am disappoint

I took my vehicle into the dealership 11/30/2022 due to the rearview camera initially malfunctioning and becoming blurry, or completely cutting out, when putting my vehicle in reverse. I informed them I did receive a email thru my carfax notification and by mail regarding a recall. The dealership kept my vehicle for several weeks for repair and stated it was covered under the recall. The issue persisted and I sent a message to the service center but never received a response back. I continued to receive responses about trading in my vehicle and purchasing a new car. I dropped my vehicle off at the dealership on 9/1/2023 and explained the issue again. The service dept stated my I would be charged $150 for a diagnostic test and if it was an issue with the internal camera it would not be covered under the recall warranty. I immediately began to feel they would later contact me and tell me it would not be covered because that is how the conversation began. The dealership contacted me and stated it was an internal problem with the camera and not covered under the recall. It will cost me $732 if I would like to have the camera repaired. I contacted the manufacturer regarding the recall warranty, and confirmed it was 12 months or 12000 miles, whichever is sooner and my vehicle remained within the recall warranty. My issue was escalated with a supervisor and I was to receive a call back the next day from the manufacturer between 10am-7pm cst, but I never did. My vehicle's camera has

Under NHTSA recall 22V082. Ford refused to change the rear view camera despite it was under recall: The recall states to replace wiring harness and or camera replacement if necessary free of charge. My rear view camera is still distorted after they change the wiring harness and they told me to pay for the camera since its not covered under the recall. the letter that I got has the same recall number above but it didn't mention replacing the camera even though it has the same issue on the recall distort image when backing up. NHTSA and consumer reports/ FORD websites they all mention to replace both if necessary. I attached a sample copy of the recall from Ford stating that. Even ford specialist read that to me on the call when I asked her what did the recall number say about the fix. But the recall department says it s not covered. This is the detail for the recall below. Vehicles recalled: 2015-2017 Ford Mustang The problem: The wiring harness for the backup camera may be damaged or have an improperly soldered connection that can prevent an image from being displayed. The fix: Dealerships will replace the backup camera and/or repair the decklid wiring harness at no charge. How to contact the manufacturer: Ford will contact owners by mail starting on March 7, 2022. Owners may also call Ford at 866-436-7332. NHTSA campaign number: 22V082000. Ford’s number for this recall is 22S06.

This specific car model is a 2016 Shelby GT350 tech package that I owned for at least 7 months. In this time period i had only put 7k mikes on it before it blew up. After doing tons of research there is a tons of class action law suits against Ford for these cars. The incident that occurred was while driving the vehicle caught fire on the passenger side. Driving at the speed limit of 40 MPH no warning lights, Check engine lights or anything it just blew up. Up to this point all maitence was done properly and after doing some research it had the same issue report by multiple other Shelby owners of this year. This vehicle is not safe for the roads and if not properly investigated, it can cause someone to lose their life. I incurred a bruised head, burns and loss of hair from this accident. I’ve contacted Ford in regards to this issue and yet to have anything done. This vehicle should not be sold to the public with these known issues. There was recall sent out to fix this issue but my specific vin number was never contacted to fix it.

The new purge valve is faulty in my car. It has been replaced once in 2017, and another time in 2022 (possibly 2021), due to a total engine rebuild under powertrain warranty. This valve is a known common issue on online forums. For the model cars 2018 and 2019, this is an open recall. I strongly believe this should be investigated. In the past, this faulty valve caused my car to stall and die on a busy road. Both Ford customer service and the dealer have given me conflicting information whether or not this part is covered under emissions warranty, causing a headache. The dealer stated that if given a sequence of codes, the dealer has been instructed by Ford to replace the part for free. This indicates that Ford is aware of the common hazard that the faulty purge valve is causing. Considering this part is less than 2 years old, it should at least be covered by the 2 year emissions warranty. However, I believe others, like me, have suffered the nuisance and safety risk of this faulty part, and have paid unnecessary expenses due to Ford's negligence to address this known issue.

I recently took my vehicle to the local Ford dealer to get the oil changed and tires rotated. The service technician told me that they could not do the tire rotation without replacing my lug nuts at a cost of $100 because the lug nuts were swollen. I told her I wasn't interested thinking this was some type of bogus sales ploy. I mean how can lug nuts swell? She then threatened, " well you know if you have a flat you'll be stuck on the side of the road unable to change the tire!" This made me angry because I thought it was a bunch of baloney. When I got home I actually removed the lug wrench from my trunk and tried to remove the lug nuts only to find that she was telling the truth. I could not get the lug wrench on the nuts without driving it on with a hammer. Then the nut was stuck in the wrench which had to be clamped in a vise and the nut driven out with a punch. This is how I replaced all my lug nuts. I bought a set from Advance Auto Parts for $41. However, I still have to question why this problem which can leave people stranded on the side of the road and which the Ford dealerships are obviously aware of has not resulted in a recall?

My check engine light came on it was cylinder 2 misfire. Sputtering and stalling in traffic. Slow to excelarate, started losing coolant and blowing white smoke on start up. Stuck in traffic. Then the turbo blew out. Replaced turbo, replaced spark plugs replaced edition coil. Still cylinder 2 misfire. Still a rough idle, Still dies in traffic Still losing coolant, dies unexpectedly and then won't start. Replaced fuel pump about 3 years ago for it dying in the middle of sams club traffic lane. Currently issues with the other problems listed above. Have found out this is a common problem with these motors. I called Ford and was told it's because I have 112,000 miles on my car. I've never missed a service, never driven the car hard, never over heated it. I have taken excellent car of this vehicle. Currently waiting for another diagnostic test. We pay to much for these cars to be stuck in traffic and have the engines go out and so many problems with them. Yes this car can be inspected at any time. Ford needs to recall this engine and fix its mistake. This is not okay. And it's dangerous to continue to let people drive these vehicles.

While driving at 65mph with both heated seats on, I noticed a burning smell in the cabin. I assumed this was from an external source, but was prepared to pull over on the highway if I saw smoke, which I did not. The following day, I noticed the heated seats of my vehicle no longer worked, although the lights indicate they were on without any issue (implying power was still being supplied). I searched Google to determine if this is common, and to my disappointment, it seems that a number of ford vehicles fitted with heated seats have suffered the same failure: the power connector to the module controlling seat heating/ventilation had melted. I first checked the 30A fuses in my vehicle to see if they had blown, and confirmed they had not. I safely unplugged the affected cable on my vehicle from the seat, which required pliers because it was melted to the connector, only to confirm that my power connector had melted. I have identified that fixing this issue requires replacing the wiring harness, this can be done at home for $100 but should be done by an auto electrician. Ford appear to be quoting $700-$1100 for the same fix, encouraging individuals to undertake the work themselves without the expertise to do so. Had the scarf that was in my passenger foot well been near the connector, it's entirely plausible that this issue would have caused a fire in my vehicle and put mine and others life at risk while I was driving at highway speeds.
