I was driving the car and RPMs dropped to 0 and car would not go. Has had issues shifting, slipping, stalling and shuddering for over a year. Paid for a transmission fluid flush AT A DEALER. Never helped the situation. Has been ongoing issue for over a year. Now after checking the VIN my car is NOT a part of the recall? This seems to be a wider issue with no resolution. Now I am without a car and without a fix

The transmission control module cause my car to only work in drive. I was in a rural area without adequate resources or any warning that the module would go out. After being able to get if eventually towed to a dealership they fixed the tcm module and then informed that the clutch in my vehicle with an automatic transmission was out and the vehicle was now stuck in reverse. The clutch going out is a result of the tcm component wearing out the clutch this information was provided by a ford mechanic. Both the parts are faulty in the vehicle leaving drivers stuck in places without any warning that they will soon need to be serviced. Ford covers repairs for some of these things under their customer satisfaction program; however, that does not remedy the fact that the parts are faulty and will need constant repair throughout the vehicles lifetime.

My Ford Focus died on me at a stop sign, when trying to start it sounded it seemed like it ran out of gas, put gas in and it leaked out onto the ground. I had it towed to the Sewell Ford in Fayetteville AR 72703. They replaced the R Tube Asv-Fuel Vapour Separa, Fuel Cannister-fuel vapour store, E Tank Esy-Fuel, Ax Sender and Pump Asy and AA Gasket. They said this happened because of pressure in the gas tank. They looked up the recall, that this is associated with and a Ford location in Frisco said it didn't need to be fixed. Obviously it did. I paid 3,173.88 for the repair work. I called Ford Corp number and they stated same as the other Ford location is we closed out without being repaired. Is there anything i can do?

My daughter purchased a 2014 Ford Focus in August of 2021 with roughly 35,000 miles. She was starting college as a full time student and needed a dependable vehicle.....which she DID NOT get. Zeck Ford in Itasca, Tx is where this was purchased and they KNEW of the issue regarding the TCM in this particular vehicle. This vehicle should have never been on that lot for sale. Ford recently closed this dealership in Feb/March 2023. The car did great till about Spring/Summer of 2022. It suddenly started jerking and check engine light would come on. It appeared it was possibly a loose cable...it was not. It drove fine till Oct of 2022 and again did the same thing. Contacted local dealership and we were THEN told of the issue with the TCM. We were also told all we could do was wait untill it acted up again bring it in to the dealership so that they could open a ticket. Well it never acted up in proximity to a dealership. It happened again in Dec of 2022. This time with the rmps revving up so far the vehicle would not drive and she had to have it towed paying out of her pocket. Today, April 3, 2023 she was on her way to school and it stalled on her TWICE going down the interstate. My husband and I had to go get her and he somehow managed to get it back to our house. She did purchase an extended warranty but they helps none in this situation . At this point we were at a loss of what to do. When driving the car will just shut itself down. We took the car to a Ford dealership in Sterling Colorado in October of 2021 and was told that there was a recall on the electronic control module, transmission control module and that due to Covid it would take up to 8 months for the part to come in. When we contacted the dealership at the end of the 8 month wait they stated that they couldn’t repair the car to take it to a different dealership in Wray Colorado . We were again told that it could take several months to get the part in, we waited for several months for the part and it still didn’t come in. We contacted Ford about the issue and they told us to take the car back to the first dealership and have them put it on the computer just to confirm that it was the electronic control module, transmission control module and it would be taken care of. We did that and now Ford is telling us that they won’t fix the car because they can’t get the part, they want us to pay for a new transmission at the tune of $8000.00 and said that since the car was over 80,000 miles and out of the original warranty they won’t cover the repair for a new transmission. The dealership said the only way to fix the car is to have a new transmission control module or a new transmission. The recall on the transmission module covers the car up to 150,000 miles and our car has under 127,000 miles on it. We have tried since 2021 to get this taken care of.

Transmission fault!!! Once I noticed the previous recall on the gas tank valve it ultimately stopped my vehicle. I cannot drive it due to first running out of gas from fault in miles to empty. Car would out of nowhere stop driving as well as barely start. The gas already reading incorrect, the. Now the transmission light continues to come on. I almost crashed more than once with kids in the car due to it after 2hours of driving fine, immediately stopping and not allowing the car to drive. Gas tank recall when sent into the dealership yet the issue is still there. It is obvious because the miles to empty are still wrong cause me to possibly put too much has not enough gas. It is very unsafe to drive.

Transmission on these fords are bad!!!!not only me but everyone I know with a ford focus has had some issue with their transmission. My car has spontaneously stopped driving while kids in car. Transmission fault service light and engine light will immediately come on when car starts or it will give you about 1 mile to drive before it shuts car down. Recently dealership “fixed recalls” fuel tank. It is not fixed. I also believe it is the reason my transmission fault come on. I have had the car since April 2022 drove for a few month ran out of gas, because I believed it was wrong because it always is ultimately I only ran out of gas. Since that day I’ve had major issues. The transmission light was never on until a few months ago, it did use to stall when attempting to start. It would show up spontaneously and once it happens there is nothing you can do. It is very dangerous! I have gotten recalls “fixed” drove the vehicle for 2hours the miles to empty were still reading wrong, dealership said give it a few miles. It never changed, it is still wrong I’m pretty sure this issue of the fuel tank has brought on transmission issues that are very alarming and costly. The dealership did not successfully fix the issue with the fuel tank because of the obvious of the miles to empty, also engine light came back on, and ultimately did shut the car back down.
