Driving 65 mph on state highway, after going over minimal bumps, front end shook terribly and would not stop. It almost caused a multi vehicle collision including tractor trailers. No notification from Ford until I brought vehicle in for diagnosis, Death Wobble

During the operation of the vehicle on a highway over 55 mph, after riding over a pothole on the road, the vehicle ceased to have steering. For 3 seconds the vehicle drifted in the right lane into another vehicle. After overcorrecting, the vehicle engaged the steering swerving to the left creating great instability by turning towards another vehicle. In this circumstance, an accident was avoided by a quick response and an attentative, however, we cannot drive the vehicle over 50mph otherwise luck may not be with us. The problem was previously identified by the local Fairfax dealership and the mechanic identified the Steering Stabilizer as problematic. A replacement was done, but the problem reoccurred. The 2nd Steering Stabilizer was installed at cost to us and initially the problem went away. Within a year, the problem has reoccurred creating the most dangerous incident so far. This problem is well known within the Ford enthusiast community noted in the link below: https://www.google.com/search?q=ford+f250+stblizer+problems&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS917US917&oq=ford+f250+stblizer+problems&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i22i30l3j0i390l3.9863j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
F250 Death Wobble, driving on the fwy anything above 55 mph and I hit a bump or any typ eof transition, my truck shakes and wobbles extremely dangerously. Causing me to often have to stop on FWY to fix.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at 50-55 MPH, the vehicle experienced the death wobble. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 31,000. The VIN was unavailable.
In the last month of Nov,2022 I almost had 3 near accident incidents with my F250 Super Duty Ford due to a wobbling on front driver side wheels. I have done some research and looks like my truck has the wobble of death issues. I am afraid to drive again and it is our work truck and would like to know my options. Thank you
My 2019 super duty is only 3.5 years old with 35K miles on it. It is well taken care of and maintained accordingly at the dealership for its maintenance schedule. Recently I’ve been experiencing what others have reported for a total of 7 times now, each time over the speed of 65 MPH. It’s referred to as the “death wobble” on the front end. The whole vehicle shakes violently and you have to slow to a stop and pull over to make it stop. Each time I was on the freeway and once in the Rockies in Colorado and nearly wrecked there. Each time this occurs I’ve come Close to causing several vehicle accidents and being in law enforcement for over 22 years most of not all accidents are preventable but this is not. I’ve also learned I’m not the only owner experiencing the same issue and that Ford is aware of the problems. I also had passengers inside my vehicle.
Driving down highway at Tx highway speed limit, going over a short bridge and over an imperfect road on 4 occasions, truck went into serious jerking & shaking and became uncontrollable when pressed brakes and trick departed and almost off road and I had almost no control of vehicle. . DEATH WOBBLE every time I hit a bump! At every speed. Can’t hardly hold onto steering wheel and everything is shaking and no matter what speed I travel this continues to happen! This is not that quick little shimmy - this is a full on jerking and vehicle is going all over the road and will not stop shaking and jerking. Hitting the brakes magnifies the death wobble. When death wobble starts, this vehicle is no longer under my control- I barely missed hitting the side of that culvert bridge! Then the pickup shaking and unable to control it went into the other lane. despite deceleration to 20 mph the pickup continues to shake and jerk violently and veers off the road. Ford denied that this occurs and when I bought this pickup (used) they laughed at me and said it’s nothing. This is dangerous and now how do I get home with the babies safely?! I have almost had 3 accidents during this 40 minute trip due to this horrendous death wobble. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1557613-death-wobble-tsb-info-requested.html https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10165703-0001.pdf https://thelemonfirm.com/2019/12/13/be-afraid-be-very-afraid-of-the-ford-super-duty-death-wobble/ https://www.fordtruckzone.com/t
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving and exceeding 50 MPH, the steering wheel was shaking excessively while driving over a bump in the roadway or over a pothole. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after slowing down to approximately 30 MPH, the shaking stopped. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnostic tests or repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
While driving at freeway speeds, hitting a pothole or other bump, vehicle wobbles uncontrollably in the front end. Vehicle must reduce speed quickly to stop the wobble. I have taken this vehicle into Ford Service twice. The first time they said they fixed the problem by replacing the strut and steering damper. Problem occurred less frequently but continues to occur. I took it in a second time but they could not find a problem. They stated they tried to replicate the problem, but my onboard camera shows they did not take the vehicle off of the lot to drive it at freeway speeds. Forder service said they are aware of the problem but don't know how to fix it. No warning lights. No messages. Nothing unusual was occurring at the time. Freeway speeds were somewhere around 50-70 mph at the times it happened.
Driving above 50mph and hit a bump the front end begins violently shaking the complete 2019 Ford F250. No warning and has happened now twice in the last 60 days both times coming around a slight corner on a highway. Research found to be called a Death Wobble? https://www.google.com/search?q=violent+shaking+on+2019+f250+after+hitting+bump&rlz=1C1GCEV_en___US853&oq=violent+shaking+on+2019+f250+after+hitting+bump&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i160.12852j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
In the past 7 days driving at highway speeds of 70 mph+ and driving on rough patches or hitting bumps we lost control of the steering on 3 different occasions without warning. The 2019 F250 truck started shaking violently and I almost loss total control of the vehicle. I had to slow the vehicle down and immediately turn on the emergency flashers to warn other vehicles behind us that we were having a major vehicle malfunction. Once I slowed down to under 40 mph or stopping, I was able to regain control of the vehicle and the shaking stopped. My wife and I are very lucky we or the other vehicles around us were not involved in a major vehicle accident, when this steering malfunction happen. We were traveling back home from visiting family for Thanksgiving and during one of the incidents we were in heavy traffic in steady rain in the far-left lane and are very fortunate this did not cause an accident with major injuries or deaths. I contacted the Ford dealership where I had this vehicle services on November 16, 2022. I will take them the 2019 F250 truck for them to inspect and hopefully repair the defect/malfunction.
On 10/19/22, driving on an interstate at approximately 70mph. Hit normal bump in the road. Vehicle began shaking so violently that one hand thrown free from steering wheel. I grabbed steering wheel with two hands and a very tight grip to control the vehicle, immediately steered onto shoulder and braked. Extremely violent shaking did not stop until vehicle slowed to approximately 20 mph. I immediately exited and inspected wheels and tires. All tires were fine and inflated to normal, recommended PSI. Wheels had all lug nuts installed to normal specifications (I always have torque wrench, tire inflator, inflation tester, tire plug kit, 700lb impact wrench and many other tools). No contact was made with any other vehicle or object. No visible damage to any part of the vehicle. It felt as though the issue was coming from the front of the vehicle. The section of road was completely straight and well maintained. I initially, I thought I may have blown a tire but the vehicle did not pull to one side or the other. The vehicle was not overloaded in any way even though I did have an ATV that weighs approximately 700lbs in the bed of the truck. The ATV was securely tied down with 4 separate ratchet straps on all four corners. A check of the straps confirmed that the ATV was still completely secure. No adjustment or tightening was required. There were no more issues on this trip. On, 11/23/22, I was driving on a highway at approximately 65mph. I was traveling on a section of a small bridg
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH on the freeway, the vehicle suddenly experienced the “death wobble" after driving over a change in the pavement of the roadway. During the failure, the vehicle began to violently shake and vibrate until the speed was reduced. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 95,000.
Uncontrollable steering wheel shake at highway speeds after hitting bumps on the road above 45 mph. Above 45 mph the front wheels oscillate making the vehicle uncontrollable until slowing down to under 45 mph.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle experienced the death wobble. The contact slowed down until he was able to stop the vehicle and the vehicle started driving normally. There was no warning light illuminated. The failure persisted while driving and exceeding 45 MPH. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle with a faulty steering damper. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
The steering linkage damper failed. I experienced complete loss of control of the vehicle on a highway. The vehicle was taken to my local Ford dealership for repair. There were no warning lamps or symptoms.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at speeds exceeding 50 MPH, the vehicle would shake violently shake and vibrate after driving over changes in the pavement of the road. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to identify to cause of the failure. No service adjustments were made to the vehicle. The contact indicated that the failure continued to occur intermittently. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 MPH, the rear sliding glass window suddenly fell from the window frame and made contact with the granddaughter who was in a booster seat positioned in the middle of the rear seat. During the incident, the granddaughter sustained a head contusion that did not require medical attention. The cause of the failure was not determined. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000.
I WAS TRAVELING WEST ON INTERSTATE 74 AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN I DROVE OVER A SMALL IMPERFECTION IN THE ROAD SURFACE (AN OVERPASS TRANSITION) THE VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT OF THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY AND CAUSED ME TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE OFF OF THE ROAD. IT HAPPENED ON THE RETURN TRIP AS WELL HOWEVER, I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES THIS TIME AS SOON AS IT STARTED FOR FEAR OF THE LIFE OF MY FAMILY THAT WAS RIDING WITH ME. MY WIFE NOW REFUSES TO RIDE IN MY VEHICLE AFTER THE TWO INCIDENTS. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME ON THE INTERSTATE.
Twice I have experienced the "F250 Death Wobble," both incidents were on the highway traveling at about 65-70 mph on level freeway when the vehicle began to oscillate and vibrate in an EXTREMELY VIOLENT MANNER. I was scared to death and I could barely control the vehicle, but in both incidents I was able to apply brakes and slowly get the vehicle to a full and complete stop to arrest the violent shaking. When both vibration incidents happened I was cruising along, not accelerating or decelerating, just constant speed. By the way both incidents occurred on I-15 near Lehi, Utah.
My truck has a death wobble!!! It shakes uncontrollably at speeds greater than 55 miles per hour when I hit any bumps. I lose total control of steering and have almost wrecked several times.
Experiences what I found to be called the death wabble. It’s getting worse
Traveling at 70 miles per hour, hit bump on highway and front end of vehicle began shaking violently, almost lost control. Took foot off gas and applied brakes, vehicle finally stopped shaking. "Death Wobble ". Vehicle has 22,500 miles, tires original, no modifications to vehicle
Took the truck on I-40 and to 75mph hit a crack repair and steering went crazy. Had to full stop to get it to stop. Back on the road and it happened again at 75mph. Got it into dealer and found out that it is a death wobble. Dealer replaced the steering dampener and returned. Dampener was purchased locally. Six weeks later and it happened on US550, after driving over a rough spot. This time it was 70mph. Happened again on US550 a few days later but at 65mph. Truck is in the dealer's shop again, and has been for eight days. They test drove it and got it to duplicate the problem. They have put a new steering dampener on as the last one is bad already. They are lowering the camber (wharever that is) and will test drive it tomorrow again.
Hit a bump going on to a bridge and the truck goes into a death wobble
2019 F250, 13,000 miles: While traveling along interstate 64 in Virginia, I crossed a bridge in the early morning, pre-dawn hours which caused the truck to "bounce" as it transitioned across the joints that joined the bridge to the pavement. Immediately after crossing, the truck entered into an uncontrollable vibration that caused me to lose positive control to the vehicle. The loss of control lasted until I was able to ride-out the incident alongside the roadway. Believing I had blown a tire, I checked the truck to find that all tires were serviceable. I reentered the roadway, having checked all items I could, only to have the issue reoccur as I crossed another bridge at a reduced speed. I exited the interstate highway and utilized back roads, at reduced speeds (below 50), to reach a safe location to diagnose the issue. Utilizing online research, I located videos of the exact same problem I had experienced. I am beyond shocked this vehicle has not been recalled. As an experienced driver, with over twenty years of law enforcement driving experience, I can assure you it took everything I had to keep the vehicle from crashing. Had I been towing a trailer/camper or had the interstate traffic been heavier, I cannot imagine how a serious accident would not have occurred. The vehicle has been meticulously maintained, possesses a current state inspection sticker, and gave no warning prior to this incident of having any issues related to the loss of control.
Odometer: 45847. Two weeks ago I hit a bump on GA 400 going about 70MPH and the death wobble happened. Had to brake heavily to get it to stop. No warning lights. Knew there was an ESB on the Steering Dampner and took it to the dealer to have that replaced along with the other recalls. The service advisor calls today and wants to charge me $1800 to replace the tie rods. Ford should be taking care of the affected components in relation to the steering dampener not holding up.
When driving above 50 MPH and hitting a small bump in the road, the vehicle has gone into a sever wobble in the suspension almost to the point of losing control of the steering of the truck. I had to reduce the speed to below 30 MPH to get the truck to return to normal. This has happened to our truck twice.
Driving on freeway at 60mph hit a bump in road and the steering shook bad (death wobble), had to slow down to 25mph
Uncontrollably shaking (death wobble). Lost control and had to brake quickly.
This has now happened on two separate occasions. When driving the truck at 55mph and hitting a small bump in the road the truck started shaking violently and would not stop until I slowed down to under 25mph. Upon researching this, consumers are calling this the Ford Wobble of Death. The truck became uncontrollable until I slowed down and the vibration ceased. Fortunately, it was on a straight section of roadway and no other cars were in close proximity at the time. There was little steering control of the truck until I slowed down to make the violent shaking stop. The problem appears to be with the front steering components (drag link, tie rod, tie rod ends, ball joints). Since this occurrence the front of the truck vibrates slightly almost all of the time when driving over 55mph. The Ford dealer replace the steering damper, and this helped the vibration, but it still continues to vibrate. Ford may still have the replaced part (but this part replacement has not fixed the problem.) The Ford dealer has said replacing the steering damper was the first item to change (per Ford Corporate) to fix this problem. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than the Ford dealer. There were no warning lamps or other symptoms of the upcoming problem until the first time is shook violently.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the steering wheel started moving violently from side to side. The contact stated that he had experienced the death wobble. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal until he regained control of the vehicle. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road momentarily. The contact was then able to continue driving. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 87,640.
I have a 2019 Ford F250 and I have had the Death Wobble happen to me two times. The first was with my entire family in the truck. Going 60 mph and the truck starts to shake violently and is uncontrollable until you get to 15 mph. The second incident was a week ago just outside of Haskell TX. Speed limit is 70, my son and I were travelling at 72 mph and the truck shook so violently that he was crying and the next thing I knew, we were going east bound in the west bound lane on the shoulder. Extremely close to losing total control of the truck. I do not feel it is safe to drive the truck any longer and I am going to sell it if I can.
I was traveling at approximately 65 MPH on a 4 lane divided highway, when i crossed over a small bridge the front end of the truck began shaking violently for no reason As I slowed down to a stop on the shoulder the shaking stopped. After inspecting the vehicle I continued on my way without further incident. After looking online I found this is called the Ford F-250 "Death Wobble" .
From the day I bought the truck in November 2019 it would jerk aggressively when hitting expansion joints. 6 Months ago I asked a dealer to fix it and they did nothing. Then, between 10/8/22 and 10/15/22 we experienced for incidents of the death wobble on E470 and north I-25 in Colorado. Each incident occurred in heavy traffic. The only way to regain control was to pull off the road and completely stop. I currently have the vehicle scheduled to go to a dealer, but need this fixed as it is not safe to drive.
Uncontrollable shaking after hitting uneven pavement from bridge to road. Happened around 65 mph and didn’t stop until I braked to 30mph
I own a 2019 F250 platinum diesel and the last 5 months have been teetering on a very thin line of causing a serious accident. At highway speeds, my truck will start to violently shake after hitting small bumps, bridge entrances/exits, potholes. Pretty much any un-level surface has the potential to cause my truck to violently shake. It’s referred to as Death wobble and for good reason. It feels like all 4 tires had just blown out at highway speeds. It’s very hard to control the vehicle and the only way to fix the issue is to come to a complete stop as fast as you can before you lose control. I have contacted ford several times and they are aware of the issue. There still has been no recall as far as I know. This is completely unacceptable and is risking potential lives. It’s only a matter of time before some is seriously injured or killed from this. Ford put my name down, and I was told in about 2 months they might have the parts to fix it. That just isn’t a good answer. Something needs to be done. Unfortunately I don’t have another vehicle so I am forced to drive this death trap. I’m not sure what to do, and don’t want to get in an accident or end up hurting someone but I have to get to and from work. I refuse to let my family drive in the truck because it’s so unsafe. This doesn’t just happen once in a while. It happens every single time I’m on the freeway which is every day, sometimes multiple times driving to and from work. Im hoping someone can give me some help. I reall
Extreme steering wheel shaking aka death wobble. Caused my truck to jump across 3 lanes on i75 almost costing me and my wife our life's. Starts after hitting pot hole and becomes so extreme your hands loose contact with steering wheel. This is clearly an A Rank Safety issue that Ford has not addressed. No warning when it happens, all control is lost and up till now we have been lucky. Truck did this at 20000 miles and again at 32000 miles I currently only have 32250 total miles on this vehicle. After contacting my dealer they told me it was out of warranty because it had exceeded 36 months.
Was traveling highway speed, front end of truck started violently shaking causing the vehicle to be uncontrollable and entered the ditch. Steering wheel then was not centered in relation to the tires.
Death wobble severe controlable I reported it to nhtsa they are replacing the damper but dealer says the drive link is wore out too.only has 36,881 mile on it 881 miles over warranty plus two months past 36 months but won't cover under warranty this is wrong the steering drag link is not supposed to wear in that kind of miles should be recalled for safty issue also
Death Wobble: 2019 F250 with 42,450 miles. After hitting a small bump while driving on the highway at normal speed, the front end starts violently shaking and the steering wheel oscillates from side to side. Steering control is completely lost and I have to hang on for dear life until I can ease to a shoulder to slow down and get out of the wobble. This is completely unacceptable and puts everyone's lives at risk who are in the immediate vicinity. I immediately called my local Ford dealer and was told this "happens from time to time." Despite admitting this is a known problem since the mid-2000s and a danger to public safety, Ford refused to fix it, stating my truck is just past the limited factory warranty. I was out of town when this first occurred with no prior warning and it happened 14 additional times within a couple days. Why is Ford not recalling these vehicles for this issue? It is extremely dangerous to those inside and in close proximity to the vehicle. Please make Ford address this before someone gets seriously hurt due to their incompetence and desire not to have to spend the money on a full fledged recall.
At interstate speeds, my vehicle can go into a mode where in the steering wheel jerks violently, along with the front end shaking violently. This has happened twice in 2022, and rough pavement appears to initiate the event and pulling over to the shoulder, coming to a complete stop is the only way to stop the shaking.
There is a known issue with the steering damper which causes the "Death Wobble". On one trip this happened to me three times almost causing me to lose control of the vehicle on the interstate going 70 MPH. I was unable to maintain my lane and swerved into the passing lane. I had to quickly stop the vehicle and pull over causing vehicles behind me to come to an abrupt stop. I had two of my children with me and the vehicle shook so hard that it threw items out of their hands. The dealership inspected the vehicle and stated that the steering damper had no resistance in it and was beyond bad. The replacement part was on indefinite backorder and Ford denied them using an aftermarket part as a replacement. My only option was to wait until the part eventually came in or pay $250 out of pocket to replace it with an aftermarket part. I will not drive the vehicle until the part is replaced. Ford has failed to recognize and fix a major safety issue.
Death wobble at 70 mph jerking both hands 6 to 8 inches back and forth uncontrollable on I-70 in Kansas went from right lane to left lane then left hand shoulder before getting it under control lucky no other cars around everything was blurry from shaking only have 37,000 miles on it thought me and wife were going to die drove only 60mph after that crazy
6 July 2022/47,978 miles- local service shop advised me about 2019 Ford F250 steering stabilizer issue when I inquired about 2 new front tires for my vehicle due to uneven wear and noticeable wobble at 65-70 mph. Advised me I should inquire with Ford, solve issue, then get tires and align accordingly. No reason to get new tires just to ruin them. 12 July 2022- Autonation Ford Brooksville, FL diagnosed it was steering stabilizer and ordered. Would call me when part came in to replace it. Early August 2022- Called Autonation to inquire about part. Told part was on "severe backorder". I advised problem was getting worse and tires were considerably worse. Was told they would call or email when part became available. 12 October 2022/52,690 miles- Called Autonation to inquire about part. Told it was projected to be in mid November. Told them problem was way worse. Wobble occurs anywhere from 45-70 mph depending on road surface. Noticeable clunk under various conditions while driving or turning. Advised I was going to park the truck due to safety concerns. Several times, wobble turned into pulling me hard left or right out of driving lane. One incident took me so far into oncoming traffic that the opposing traffic had to turn to avoid hitting me. This is my primary vehicle. I drive approximately 60 miles per day, to and from work.
- "death wobble" in my F250 3 times on our way back from the Outer Banks, NC to Nashville. Ford is stating it is the Steering Dampener. Yes, it is available for inspection. - Safety was poor, it felt like I had little control until we came to a complete stop. I would say it put other at risk as we had to move to the side, across multiple lanes, to the side of the road. - It happened 3 times in one trip. - It has not been inspected (only by me). The Ford dealership stating they know the problem (without looking at it) and start a service order. We are awaiting the part. - No, it just suddenly happened. We were not towing anything either
My 2019 F250 has only 17328 miles today. This month I experienced two dangerous situations. When driving at high speed on the freeway, approx. 60 miles per hour, the steering wheel and the whole front end start an uncontrollable shake and wobble. It feels like the truck is going to be broken into pieces. I was driving at freeway speed in the carpool lane, this sudden wobbling scared me and all my family inside the truck. We thought the truck was going to explode or something. I immediately turned on my emergency light and reduced my speed. The car behind me almost hit my truck. I had to get out of the car pool lane and shift four lines before stopping on the shoulder. I looked into the problem online and found out that many Ford Heavy Duty truck owners like me had similar experiences. I went to a nearby Ford dealer, and the advisor informed me that this problem is known as "Death Wobble" and that Ford is aware of it. However, parts are unavailable, with no ETA! This dangerous issue could cause a vehicle operator to panic and try to reduce speed on the freeway suddenly in order to regain control, but it could also cause the vehicle to collide with a following vehicle or lose control, hitting vehicles nearby. My life and my family's lives could be in danger because of this. I am worried about driving this truck again since this is my work truck. Please help!
On 10/9/2022, while driving on the interstate at 70-75 mph next to an 18 wheeler, I experienced the dreaded "death wobbles" in my new truck. The truck was barely able to be controlled, and I had to pull over to the shoulder of the interstate and come to a complete stop. When I tried driving to the next exit to get to a safer location, the death wobbles hit a second time when driving at a reduced speed because there was a very minimal dip in the road. The vehicle gave no warning prior to or during the incident. The steering/suspension systems were completely out of control, and only began working after I had to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. I notified the dealer, Carvana, and am returning the vehicle to them. They had initially done an inspection and stated the vehicle was fine. Obviously, it wasn't. This was extremely terrifying and even worse, Ford is aware of this long standing issue and has not issued a recall. When I called the Malloy Ford dealer in Martinsburg, WV, they said they wouldn't cover the repairs, that it would be up to me to pay for whatever components malfunctioned and were possibly further damaged by the death wobbles.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH on a distressed roadway, the vehicle experienced the death wobble. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park on the road and then was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact continued to experience the failure. The contact stated that two weeks later he received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V087000 (Structure, Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. VIN tool confirms parts not available. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
DEATH WOBBLE.....AFTER HITTING BUMP IN ROAD STEERING WHEELS SHAKES UNTIL VEHICLE COMES TO STOP. ONLY HAVE 30,000 MILES AND NO OFF-ROAD DRIVING. DOESN'T MATTER ABOUT SPEED. HAVE ISSUES AT 45 MPH AND NOW DRIVING 65 ON HIGHWAY. VERY DANGEROUS HAVING TO COME TO COMPLETE STOP IN MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY AS UNABLE TO EVEN STEER!

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
