The truck is not shifting properly it fails to downshift or will downshift on its own. I have almost had an accident due to this happening and did the update on the recall but it hasn't helped.
Vehicle shifted into 1st gear on its own will driving which almost caused my son to wreck, took the vehicle to the Ford dealership as we could not get it back out of 1st gear. It had to be towed to the dealership to have repairs made which are the same repairs that are listed under a recall just issued on several 2014 F150 truck. We had to pay for these repairs totaling $1129.92 back on January 12, 2024. I contacted the dealership about this and they said we would not be refunded because our truck is not under the recall however there was a recall for 2011 F150 trucks for this same issue back in 2016 which we were not a part of also. I feel that this needs to be looked at a little more closely and the recall be expanded further to more later model trucks. My son could have been seriously injured or killed for a problem that could have been fixed back in 2016. I have tried to attach copy of repair receipt from dealership but it would not allow me to upload it

My vehicle, a 2011 Ford F150 with a six cylinder engine and automatic transmission, recently began experiencing "UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFTING INTO 1ST GEAR WHILE IN MOTION" AND HAS ALREADY CAUSED A LOSS OF CONTROL IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. While I was able to avoid an accident, this is a serious safety issue. It is noted that NHTSA has recalled 1.3 million Ford F150 vehicles for the years 2011 - 2013. My particular VIN [XXX], was not included. How do I get a Recall letter to have my vehicle declared a recall and get it repaired. The vehicle is experiencing the same problem as those already recalled. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Front driver's side seatbelt latch failed. Upon disassembling the latch assembly, it was found that a part of the mechanism broke off causing the latch to fail. The part appears to be cast metal, and it failed along a narrow portion of the mechanism. It seems that this part would be more robust.
Was in 6th gear(on a 6speed transmission) and immediately my truck downshifted to 1st gear causing my back tires to lock up and almost crash into a median. This is due to a CSP that Ford no longer offers to fix because it "expired".

BCM malfunction , Ford Recall # 10S14
[XXX] [XXX] Cedar Rapids IA 52402 April 27 2024 [XXX] PHONE: [XXX] Dear NHTSA I have a 2011 Ford F150 5.0 with a 6 speed transmission and within the last few weeks I have had serious transmission issues that have become so bad it is not safe to drive. At any time the transmission will down shift on its own causing my speed to be reduced dramatically and usually becomes stuck in third gear and lose power. When I come to a stop light it will lung forward until I can get it out of third gear into neutral also some times when I pull out from a stop light while making a left turn it will change gears and the power will drop making it very dangerous to make a left turn in oncoming traffic. I researched the internet trying to find what would cause this and it didn’t take long for hundreds of articles to pop up. Many articles said there was a recall in (2019) for the 2011s with a 6 speed transmission made in Dearborn Michigan and that would be mine. I called the Ford Motor Company last week and explained the issue I was having and gave them my VIN [XXX] . They agreed there had been issues with that transmission but my VIN didn’t match any recalls, they did say they have a review board that looks at these problems along with NHTSA and may cover the cost to fix it so I should save my receipts. I then went to my local Ford Dealer and gave them the VIN they said Ford had an extended warranty for that transmission but now it is outdated? I did more research and found the following (Ford i

The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
This is the second Ford factory replacement steering rack that has failed and almost caused me to wreck by having the steering wheel lock and may not being able to move the wheel in any direction. It has almost caused multiple accidents, and I know that there are multiple reports of Ford electronic power, steering racks failing

1.) P2112- Throttle Actuator Control System stuck in closed position, no as I was able to get it to work again but looking at replacing the throttle body, so in the future yes. 2.) My saftey was at risk as it failed going over 70+ mph and made my vehicle shake violently. 3.)No but this is the 2nd time in 6 months this has happened. 4.) No 5.)had a power train lamp come on (2011 ford f150 wrench light) right as I lost complete throttle response going 72 MPH

While driving, the vehicle lost pressure. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The lead frame on my truck was experiencing issues. The truck would intermittently randomly downshift at high speeds or get stuck in one gear. I was going 65+ mph on the freeway and and my truck shifted to second gear with no warning causing me to swerve and slam on the brakes. Other times my truck did it on surface streets. There were no warning lights or anything to let me know it would happen. After it downshifted, the wrench popped up on the dash, my speedometer went to 0, and my odometer read blank. Forcing me to pull over, restart the truck, in order to get it out of limp mode to be able to make it home. I took my truck to Ford of Valencia California where they inspected the truck and confirmed it was the lead frame. The issue was that at the time the part was on an 8 month back order so my only option was to replace the entire Valve body instead of only the lead frame. My truck was no longer under the recall and I was forced to pay for this out of pocket less than a month of purchasing the truck from a used dealership. My truck was only inspected by Ford of Valencia and no other agencies. Since this truck was my only form on transportation, I could not wait the 8 months for the lead frame to come in and had to pay out of pocket for the new valve body.
Was traveling down highway pulled into a gas station to get gas. Left gas station headed down road. Went to go pass a car when truck started to shift down a gear to pass it shifted all the way to 1st gear at 55 mph. It locked back wheels up for a moment but then released. Check engine light come on and I still on. Haven't drove truck but a few times since that happen. The truck is doing the same thing the ford recall of 2019. So I took it to ford where they diagnosed that it needed a new transmission and it had nothing to do with the recall. So it just been mainly seating in the yard.
Lead frame. Known issue and was never replaced. Putting families at risk on highways
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission erroneously downshifted to first gear causing the vehicle to abruptly decelerate. The truck randomly caught fire. There is 100’s of not 1000’s of reports of the 3.5 eco boost trucks catching fire with no explanation. Now I’m being treated like a criminal and have lost my mint condition truck.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the steering wheel was loose. While making a left turn the steering wheel unintendedly turned to the right. Left front speaker intermittent operation.
Over the last few months on at least 15 occasions my transmission has tried to downshift into 1st gear while traveling highway speeds (55-65). Causing the tires lock up but I have always caught it and shifted into neutral to not cause any problems. After researching it sounds like this is a VERY COMMON issue that apparently hasn't been resolved with Fords TSB and software reflash. Also, while this happens my speedometer goes to zero and a wrench screen come up on the instrument panel for a split second.
The transmission downshifts un-expectantly intermittently. The transmission also downshifts on the highway and locks up the wheels. The dealership indicated the time to have the repair made pursuant to the recall has expired. This appears to be a Ford F-150 eco Transmission problem as I've communicated with others online who have the same issues.
Ford 150 2011 has had acceleration issues for the last 2 years. I heard there was a recall on this model of truck with the Eco boost but mine was not on the list but I am now having issues and mechanics are having a difficult time figuring out what has been happening. Code light doesn't specify a problem.
Mechanical brake booster pump failure. Has been inspected by ford dealerships twice and also with a third party certified mechanic. The vehicle has a tough time stopping upon ignition and brake has to be pumped hard. Ford claims 2021 was the last service date on this but still there a reserve records that show that its not resolved but no recall is out for this. [XXX] parents are traveling in mx right now wanting to drive back but fear for their safety truck is under names of [XXX] and [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My truck when accelerating, it pulls and shifts hard. Also the speedometer sometimes does not work right and the truck loses power..
Driving down the highway my truck will downshift for no reason. Sometimes a big bang will be felt in the rear end & the big wrench symbol will appear & all other controls don't work. There is a recall for this 16S19 & 19S07. I took my truck to the Yreka Ford dealership & was told it needed the molded lead frame replaced but the recall has ended. Still a definite safety issue but it's not covered? How can a safety recall expire but issue is still a safety issue. Still happening & it's very scary when it does. Part is on backorder!! I can't locate my paperwork from Yreka Ford in Yreka, CA.
I was driving on the highway at 65 mph and the truck downshifted on it's own from 6th gear to 3rd gear causing the truck to loose power. This has happened twice while driving on the highway and the transmission recall has been updated prior to this.

The vacuum pump recall was replaced in 2016 and it’s bad again. I have the emissions warranty with ford I am 6 owner the other 5 owners were resale so I get the one time lifetime emission warranty. the truck is doing all kinds of crazy stuff
I have a 2011 Ford F150 that I bought brand new from Capitol Ford Wilmington NC. This truck had a recall in 2020 that involved violent downshifting of transmission while at highway speeds. I took it for recall servicing by Capitol Ford Wilmington NC. I trusted them to repair this vehicle. They simply reprogrammed the LEAD FRAME inside the transmission. They said that would take care of the problem. See attached service ticket. I have only driven this vehicle in my local area as it only has 97k original miles on it. Recently I tried to drive it on a trip at highway speeds. Suddenly without warning the transmission shifted into low gear at highway speed with engine light coming on. We narrowly averted being killed. This vehicle has shifted in an odd manner for a long time. I just thought it was Fords design that did this. I took it to my local shop they immediately diagnosed the transmission LEAD FRAME as faulty. Ford should have replaced this when they had it in 2020. They said they didn't because the engine light wasn't on. Well, it's not on now either. I think this has been a problem inside the transmission for a long time. And Ford knew it. The Ford reps I contacted told me that I'm out of the extended recall period of 10 years for this problem. They also claim I was sent further recall requests for this in 2021. I received NO SUCH RECALL REQUESTS. They should have fixed this when they had it for the recall in 2020 well within the extended warranty recall period. Now not on

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
