The fire risk in the engine compartment recall has been issued for this vehicle since May 2023. The remedy is supposed to be available by Oct 2023. Yet at my recent visit to the dealer for the recall repair in Dec 2023 revealed that no remedy is available. The owner of this vehicle is forced to operate the vehicle with the risk of catastrophic engine failure and subsequent fire. It is a major safety concern.
Recall still does not have a remedy from May. Promised a solution in October and then November but now there is still no remedy
I want to hold Ford accountable for Recall 23S27. Ford continues to miss their own planned dates to come up with a solution. I want them to buy back their Lemon at Fair Trade-In Value per KBB, which is $30,500. This reminds me of the Ford Pinto fiasco many years ago. Thanks, [XXX] . I have not experienced a safety problem that is related to this recall. The problem that I have experienced is that I can not sell the car to a dealer because of the open recall. I am basically frozen out of the market by the manufacturer’s inability to correct their own mistakes. Additionally it turns out that Ford missed their commitment date of resolution by October, 2023.

When pressing the cruise control button, then pressing down on the toggle switch, the car accelerates to 80 MPH. I was doing this because that is how my old Honda worked. The Ford dealership claimed that one sets the speed by pressing up (+) on the toggle switch. This works as it should, however, I fear that someone else is going to use the wrong combination of buttons and crash at 80 MPH. Pressing down on the toggle switch should either do nothing, or at least set the speed to the one that was set previously. There is no warning in the user manual, nor is there any warning information in the car. The dealership claims that there weren't any error codes and a test drive revealed no problems. Obviously, they didn't use the button combination that I told them to use. It is 100% reproducible. It has happened since I bought the car in Sept. 2022.
Ford Motor Company has not yet offered a remedy for the following recall within the timeline indicated in their recall notification: Manufacturer Recall Number23S27 NHTSA Recall Number 23V380 The recall notification states that the remedy is expected in October 2023 and is related to unpredictable catastrophic engine failure for hybrid and plugin hybrid vehicles. It is incumbent upon Ford to offer its remedy or begin to buy back impacted vehicles due to the public safety risk posed by this engine defect and significant distress to owners whose vehicles may sudden catastrophically fail and combust.
There is an open recall on my car that can fail the engine and also it poses a risk of fire and ford said that remedy will be available by october 2023. No remedy is available yet.
Received a safety recall early June 2023 advising of potential premature engine failure increasing the risk of a fire. Parts were anticipated to be available by October 2023. No updates received.
I purchased this 2022 Ford Escape plug-in hybrid vehicle New in October 2022. In May 2023 I received a recall notice 23S27 / NHTSA Recall 23V380 from Ford Motor Company. According to this recall notice, the parts for the repair to the Engine were expected to be available in October 2023. I have not received any further communication from Ford Motor Company regarding this recall and it is now November 2023. This exceeds a reasonable time to expect repair of this defect. In addition, entering my vehicle information into the Kelley Blue Book web site showed that there are 6 recalls associated with my vehicle. However, entering the VIN number (absolutely correctly) at this NHTSA web site yields: "An error occurred with your request. Recall information for your vehicle is not available at this time. Please contact Ford Motor Company by phone at 1-866-436-7332 or go to their website http://www.Fordowner.com for recall information about your vehicle." I Called the Ford Motor Company number listed by NHTSA above (866-436-7332) and entered the recall notice number listed on the recall notice, 23S27 (as instructed as 23727), and the automated system reply is: "We did not recognize that entry." I searched under owner.ford.com, clicked on recalls and entered my VIN and found 2 recalls which included this one (23S27 / NHTSA Recall 23V380). For both recalls, it states: "Recall incomplete, remedy not yet available." This exceeds a reasonable time for correction of this defect. It is especia

We were driving and the front passenger door unexpectedly opened. Fortunately my wife was able to grab the door and pull it closed without incident.
While driving on a divided highway in the right-most lane with adaptative cruise control and lane-centering turned on, the steering wheel jerked to the right harder and faster than the driver could react, causing the wheels to collide with a concrete curb that led up to a pedestrian walk way next to the highway. We have not had issues otherwise with the lane-centering. And on a 12-mile diagnostic drive, the dealership did not observe the behavior.
I have been without my new car since January 10, 2023 due to a design flaw in the Ford Escape Plug in Hybrid. Their inadequate undercarriage protection Ford is putting their owners at financial risk, and costing Federal and state taxpayers for a flawed product. Ford Escape Plug in Hybrid undercarriage protection is not made of a durable material. You have maybe expected plastic or metal in the past. Now it is a fabric material that I call “Fordboard”, that tears and leaves the highly sensitive electronic and the hybrid battery open for damage. This happened to me in the January 2023 storms in Southern California. I have been without my new car for two months because, not only is the undercarriage not durable, but Ford refuses to divert replacement batteries for repair but continues to make the new cars so they can continue to make a profit with the help of Federal and State tax dollars. I was counting on gas savings with the electric vehicle in order to help pay for the car payment. I now have to pay full gas prices as well as the car payment. I bought the car because our family needed to expand our vehicles. I spent extra on this car to help reduce my carbon emissions. There are now more carbon emissions because of this which is contrary to why there are tax credits. Ford is gathering huge profits as a result of the changes to the tax credits, they are one of a handful of cars that are eligible. If they can’t fix damaged cars, then the tax credits aren’t helping. Ford refuse
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive to her destination. The contact restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle failed to remain started. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the dealer stated no failure was found. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 700. The contact stated that at the time of the failure, the vehicle had stopped in the middle of traffic and a battery icon flashed in red on the dash. This failure has happened twice now. After the second failure, the vehicle was towed to the dealership where is still sits. The consumer is requesting to be reimbursed for repairs relating to both the recalls for the air bag as well as ignition/starter parts.
I recently purchased a 2022 Ford Escape and during my first drive with it upon arriving home while unloading the trunk I felt a pain in my hand. I looked where I had place my hand to reach in the trunk and there was razor sharp metal. I contacted Ford and brought the car in to get it deburred and Ford refused to repair the issue telling me all Ford Escapes had the razor sharp metal and that is as it’s designed. They provided this response in writing. Please keep in mind the jut outs in the photos on the edge are razer sharp metal burrs from the sheet metal cutting process and not paint drip or other buildups on the metal
On February 15, 2023 the Cruise Control on my 2022 Ford Escape was set for 46 mph. Everything was fine for several minutes. Then the "set speed" light jumped to 80 and the car accelerated until I stepped on the brake pedal to turn off the light and resume lower speed. This repeated several more times with the Cruise Control set to various speeds. Sometimes the "set speed" jumped to 75 and other times to 80. Although this situation could have caused a serious accident if I had been following closely behind another car, I was driving a safe distance behind others and accidents were avoided. I will stop using cruise control until this problem can be fixed.
The plastic coolant nipple mounted on the high voltage battery was damaged and the dealership has determined that coolant may have entered the high voltage battery. If coolant did (or could easily) enter the battery, this would be a significant fire hazard and could lead to significant injury or death. The damaged part has been confirmed by the dealership, no one can identify how the damage could have occurred and the least unlikely cause is that I contacted a small animal without knowledge. No noticeable signs of impact (including leftover fur or organic material has been found anywhere under the vehicle. No dents, dings or other damage has been found by myself, the insurance company or the dealership and the location of this damaged nipple is somewhat isolated such that there would need to be some other signs if a more rigid object was contacted. I have tried to reach out to Ford corporate for a more thorough review and discussion but have not yet been successful. No prior issues related to the battery issue existed prior to its failure. I have a unique background that I feel uniquely qualifies me to complete this review and would very much embrace an opportunity to further discuss my concerns to ensure a full evaluation is performed by the appropriate personnel. The automobile is still at the dealership and pending repair/replacement of the battery. Assuming the part was not damaged prior to my taking delivery (I purchased new) and if the damage was truly caused by a small
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid. The contact stated while driving 5 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled intermittently. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,400.
Of the 4 bolts that secure back of back seats to floor, one securing nut is missing and other 3 are loose, only barely screwed down a few turns.
I have owned the vehicle for 4 months & have had 5 total electrical failures. The car totally shuts down while driving in normal mode which is supposed to use the battery first & use the engine only if needed. In all cases the battery was charged enough (over 40%). In two cases, it occurred in my driveway. The other 3 occurred while driving (fortunately not in high traffic). I called the dealer on 4/20/22 but was not able to get an appointment until 4/26 because they are very busy. Seems like this can be a large safety issue & should be a high priority. I called Ford corporate on 7/21 & they have no recall indicated for the issue. They assigned a case # . The warning sign on the dash Says to "stop safely now" . The manual says the warning symbol represents a high voltage system failure. I did some research on the internet & found the same issue occurred in 2021 to one car. The article had a recall #21S48. Found another article in 2022 (June) indicating the dame problem with 27 cars. Recall #22S33. Neither recall number shows up on the Ford site.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
