Ford has issued a recall (24S55) stating the Intake valves on the ford bronco with engine2.7L and 3.0L will harden and crack or break and loss of power. I had the same issue in my 2021 Ford Bronco with the 2.3L engine while I was driving in the highway I got a check engine light then it started cutting out horribly so I slowed down to pull off the road through a metal gate that was open with a cattle guard and the engine died as I was turning in and loss power steering trying to turn the wheel back in time I didn’t and ended up side swiping the pole and knocking off my side mirror and damaging my front quarter panel along with the front door. No damage to the solid metal pole. But I took my vehicle to the local ford dealership to see what the issue was and at the time they should have gotten the recall and at least put two and two together and let ford know about the issue in the 2.3L also but they didn’t mention anything about the valve being broken but said it had no compression and the spark plug diode was broke off. I’ve never seen a diode and the diodes ground hook break off on its own it’s always been broken off from being hit by something but they said it needed a whole new engine for $13,000 so I took it to another mechanic since that’s always that dealerships go to answer for everything is it needs a new engine so the new mechanic did the same stuff and also used a bore scope but instead of just saying the cylinder was bad he seen the hole in the valve and said it ju
While driving home in the evening I drove through a swarm of insects. I pushed the button to spray washer fluid and engage the wipers to clear the windshield. No fluid came out and the windshield became smeared there by obscuring visibility. I thought that odd as I always top off windshield washer fluid on all my vehicles as part of routine maintenance. When I arrived home I put approximately 1 gallon of fluid into the washer reservoir which quickly emptied onto the fender liner and the ground. Apparently there is a known defect with the washer fluid reservoir that causes it to split along the seam and empty its contents. I believe this could be a safety issue due to the flat upright design of the Bronco windshield making it a bug splat magnet and not being able to clear visibility. The Bronco is also marketed as an off-road vehicle and the windshield could be covered in mud or dust. There is no warning lamp for low washer fluid.
Windows are constantly getting uninitialized so that they don't bump down on opened to allow them to close properly with the frameless doors. This leaves a gap when closed and additionally they will automatically go all the way back down any time they are rolled all the way up. This is very hazardous when driving and needing to close the windows as you're forced to look backwards to see when they get close to the stop and release the button before it hits the top. This was reported to Ford on greater than 10 occasions since I took possession in Jan of 2022, first in March of 20222, and impacts all 4 windows. The dealer can resolve the issue by reinitializing through the computer they can plug into the vehicle and have installed some software updates as well as replaced some of the modules but the issue resurfaces a few days later. Sometimes I am able to resolve using the full reinitialization sequence that they shared with me when I had it there in April of this year but sometimes that fails. Prior to that it would eventually resolve following just a holding up and down of the button for approx. 5 secs at top or bottom. Here is a record of the occurrences with window impacted since I had it in the dealer in April of 2025. 5/2 passenger front (pf), 5/7 drivers back (db), 5/10 db, 5/12 db, 5/15 pf, 5/16 pf, 5/29 pb, 6/13 db, 6/17 pf, db, df, 7/13-7/30 pb, 7/24 db, took to dealer for restarts and software updates 7/30, 8/1 db. I kept a similar record in 2024 4/5 df, 4/6-10 db, 5
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle bounced uncontrollably. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal squeaking sound while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined at first; however, as the failure worsened, and the dealer informed the contact that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V025000 (Suspension). The contact was informed that the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.
Cross traffic and blind spot monitoring/alert failed. Electrical wiring failed due to rubbing on the rear bumper causing failure of blind spot alert and cross traffic alert systems. Reliance on these systems is critical to safe operation of the vehicle.
Component/System Involved: Molded-in-Color (MIC) Hardtop – Composite Roof Panel What happened: The molded-in-color (MIC) hardtop on my 2021 Ford Bronco (2-door) has developed multiple visible stress cracks above the passenger-side window. These are not surface scratches — they are embedded, structural fractures in the composite roof material. The cracks have formed under normal, garage-kept driving conditions at just over 10,400 miles and continue to worsen. Safety risk: I am concerned these cracks pose a potential safety risk, particularly involving water intrusion during rainfall or car washes. The affected area is directly above the front-row passenger seat and adjacent to electrical systems, including interior lighting and airbags. If water penetrates the roof structure, it could lead to mold, short circuits, degraded visibility, or electrical malfunction — especially under motion. Additionally, the structural integrity of the hardtop could be compromised in a rollover scenario. Inspection history: A Ford dealership in Winchester VA acknowledged this is a known issue and stated they had replaced multiple hardtops for the same defect. However, they declined to inspect my vehicle due to the warranty having recently expired. Ford Motor Company also reviewed the issue but denied coverage without inspecting the vehicle. Manufacturer acknowledgment: Ford delayed delivery of my Bronco by over a year due to widespread MIC hardtop defects. Despite that delay, the same failure has
While driving and completely randomly, multiple critical errors appear on the display, and vehicle goes into limp mode. The errors is play in order as follows: 4x4 Off -Service Vehicle Soon -Service advance Trac -Check 4x4 -Pre-collision assist not available -Service advance track After the errors appear, the vehicle goes into limp mode, no longer being responsive to the accelerator pedal. After putting the vehicle in park and turning it off, then restarting, the vehicle works with no errors. After 5 or so minutes this happens again. It has occured multiple times while driving, placing me in dangerous situation, because once in limp mode, I'm unable to accelerate to the side of the road. By vehicle has been at a Ford dealership for over 8 weeks now. The dealership is able to reproduce this issue. They have done some exploratory repairs by replacing the pedal assembly and throttle body but the problem remains. They're unable to diagnose what is causing the issue. Instead they are denying warranty claims and are replacing the ECM and engine wiring harness at my expense. While this most certainly repair this unknown electrical problem and will get my vehicle safely working, this critical issue will remain under diagnosed.
I have a 2021 ford bronco and the rear shock absorbers are both bad on my car it is dangerous to drive I have taken it to 2 different ford dealerships one in Morgantown wv and one in fairmont wv and was told there was nothing they could do about it. Then I contacted ford motor company and spoke to someone and was told there was nothing they could do and the vehicle was safe to drive although it states in the recall it increases risk of crash. I was told to file a complaint and on top of all that they won’t give me an inspection sticker. When you hit a pothole bump or any other obstruction is throws the rear end of the car out from under you and is terrifying. Now there is a recall on the fuel pump I havnt exactly experienced this personally that I’m aware of. Thirdly I was in an accident just last month I rear ended someone on the interstate going about 65 and the air bags did not deploy. In summary it’s absurd that ford is allowing people to make payments on vehicles with their hard earned money they one are unsafe and two have nothing but issues and are unwilling to do anything about it.
I am filing a complaint regarding the mishandling of a safety recall on my 2021 Ford Bronco, serviced through Legacy Ford in Corbin, KY. My vehicle currently has four active recalls. One, Campaign 25S01/25V025, involves corrosion and possible failure of the rear shock absorbers. Although this recall was issued in January 2025 and officially appears in my Ford account, parts were unavailable when I contacted Legacy Ford. Ford’s recall line assured me that I would receive a loaner vehicle and/or temporary fix, but the dealership denied this. In fact, a Legacy Ford rep told my husband to “go to the junkyard” for replacement shocks. I called Ford’s Executive Customer Service to escalate the situation. I was told the campaign was still considered an “Advanced Recall” (despite its official status) and that they could not override the dealership’s refusal to provide assistance. This created a deeply unsafe situation—my husband and I experienced two near-accidents due to rear suspension instability, while our toddler was in the vehicle. After waiting weeks with no resolution and no loaner, my husband had to repair the issue himself just to make the car drivable. We received no reimbursement or follow-up, and today, three of the four recalls remain open with no solution available. I am requesting a formal review of Legacy Ford’s actions, communication, and refusal to assist with a documented safety issue. I would also like to be contacted by someone at Ford with the authority to resol

I was notified that there is a safety recall on my vehicle and there is no remedy available. I am concerned because of the issue may cause me to stall and likely crash. This is very concerning . I am not sure why there’s not a remedy. I hope there is soon. Please tell me what can be done as soon as possible.

Ford has an SSM-53981 recommended fix for window rattle issue. My front windows have rattled since day one (received Bronco 11/2021). Many people on the forums complain about this issue. I originally brought the truck in within the 1st year of ownership, dealer attempted adjustments (only fix at that time) but it did not fix the problem. Now I'm at just under 90k miles and well out of warranty and Ford finally has a fix. The fix would cost upwards of $800 in parts alone. And I will state that the window rattle is loud and sounds like the window is about to shatter.
My Bronco died and would not restart. Beach Ford diagnosed it as a fuel pump replacement. Luckily, I was in a car wash drive approach lane when this occurred. I was not on any roadway when the Bronco stalled. The Engine light appeared on the instrument panel.

The local dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the rear shock absorbers were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 55,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
I had the cross-traffic sensor and blind spot detection sensors changed about a year after I bought my Bronco and the tech told me where the wires are housed it is wide open to the elements which cause the wires to fail. This was fixed under warranty and now 2 years later I have the same issue, and Ford will not fix since I am out of warranty. This is not only a design flaw but also a safety issue for someone who relies on those sensors to work.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V025000 (Suspension); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The front camera is blacked out about 50% of the time when in reverse or when activating the camera system on my Bronco. I have had it into the dealership multiple times for this issue and they continue to tell me there is a over the air (OTA) fix coming soon. The last time they told me this was in Q2 2024 saying that a fix was coming by year end 2024. I am still waiting for this fix and it causes me some distress that I am unable to completely see around my vehicle when parking or in tight spaces. This is separate and distinct from the rear camera issue that was fixed in 2024.
Shocks are all rusting. This has not been normal wear and use. It is a design defect in the material not just the rear expansion defect noted by the recall.
The contact's daughter owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that the sides of the soft top material above the B-pillar and the A-pillar were detaching, which could cause the soft top to separate from the vehicle while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was inspected, and the dealer determined that the soft top needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to TSB Number: 23-2229. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there was no guarantee that assistance would be provided in covering the cost of the repair. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
I have a new issue with my Bronco. While it drives well most of the time, I now regularly encounter a problem where multiple error messages pop up on the screen (sequentially) while I am driving, causing the vehicle to effectively, stop responding. The engine remains on, and I don't lose power to the brakes or steering, but the car won't react when I press the gas pedal. It seems like it's some critical failure safety measure, though feels critically unsafe when it occurs. When surrounded by other vehicles, at speed, I am forced to coast to a stop (with a prayer). Usually, when I put it in park, turn off the vehicle, and get out, it will reset all of the errors and work again. This situation is quite dangerous, especially when I'm around other cars. I contacted Ford, but they fit me in for two weeks. Here are the error codes that appear in order: -4x4 Off -Service Vehicle Soon -Service advance Trac -Check 4x4 -Pre-collision assist not available -Service advance track

When you turn the right turn signal on and then make a right turn, when the steering wheel returns to straight, it causes the left turn signal to come on without touching the signal handle. So your left blinker comes on after right turns. Oncoming drivers and drivers behind you may expect a left turn which creates a safety hazard. Also driving with your turn signal on and not turning could result in a traffic stop by police. Ford replaced a complement in the steering column but the issue persisted. This problem is present in two Broncos I own and I know a friend of mine has the same issue in their Bronco. I'm sure a simple internet search will reveal a common and widespread issue that could create an unsafe driving situation.
I am receiving Blind spot and cross traffic failure alerts in my vehicle dashboard indicating these systems are not working properly. This is a known issue by many Bronco owners. I believe its due to a bad installation design where the wires naturally rub up against the bumper and with weather exposure they are failing.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated the rear translucent heavy plastic panel was loosened due to the breakdown of the plastic tabs used to secure the rear panel in place. The contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with a soft top, and when the weather was warm, the side panels and rear panel would be removed to open the rear of the vehicle like a convertible. The contact was concerned that the clear panel could fall from the rear of the vehicle and strike the vehicle behind. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the soft top needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that prior to the failure, the soft top had been replaced because the side clear panels had experienced a similar failure with the plastic tabs. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the electrical system and the engine seized. I was going down a dirt road about 20 mph, hit a big pothole in the road and the driver steering wheel airbag went off suddenly, and the car shut off.
Car began flashing multiple warnings including power steering, brakes, basically all warnings. Power steering and brakes both failed. Took to dealership. Found wires and wire harnesses burnt and melted. Delaliship says it was due to a pinched wire on an after market winch however the winch was installed in 2022 and never had any issue before. They cited damage underneath on the skid plate which is very minor in nature and should not be able to cause such egregious errors.
24S55/24V635 When will the recall resolution or test be available? Expected q1 has come and gone.

Our family was traveling from Lake George New York to Boston MA on Wednesday [XXX]. As we passed another vehicle in the far left lane on [XXX] the vehicle bounced and we lost control of the backend of the vehicle and it "fish tailed" across the highway nearly causing a collision at 65 miles per hour. The anti-lock breaks were activated and we nearly collided with several cars but managed to pull into the emergency lane. The vehicle was not drivable after this incident because any pothole or bump on the highway, at speeds over 50 MPH, made the rear of the vehicle very unstable. It will skid and sway. Our vehicle is now undrivable and Ford says the only available solution is a "buy back" program and a solution will not be available until Q3 of 2025. This leaves us with a 4 year old vehicle with only 24k miles undrivable. This is not acceptable. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

When driving on the highway and pressing down on the gas pedal, the bronco immediately stalled without warning. The vehicle gradually slowed down and I was unable to do anything except turn the wheel. I was lucky that there was a shoulder to pull over to. (This time of year there are tons of spots on the highway that there isn't a shoulder to pull over to and could have posed a HUGE safety issue!) Even with the shoulder, large vehicles were driving by at speeds of 80mph with just a few feet of clearance. I was unable to start the vehicle after multiple attempts. Electrical power to the vehicle still worked. I had to call a tow truck and tow us the remaining way to our destination. After several hours (roughly 3 hours) the vehicle was able to start again. I drove to the dealership to have them look at it. They could only tell me that it was a low fuel pressure incident and could not replicate it. They said could just be "bad gas". This same exact incident -vehicle stalling while driving and pressing on the gas pedal, without any warning, has happened two additional times since this major incident. I took it to another dealer to have it looked at again and they said almost the exact same thing. System shows a low fuel pressure event but that they can't replicate it. I believe it could be tied to the NHTSA Action Number PE24019 that is currently under investigation. This is an extremely dangerous issue and wildly unpredictable that could leave me stranded or hit on the side of t

A ford tech looked at it and said a wiring harness is chaffed causing blind spot monitioring and cross traffic collision systems to not work. Cost of the part only is $700, not including labor. this is a very serious fault, which could result in injury and fatalitys

WAY SCARFF FORD CURRENTLY HAS THE VEHICLE AND HAS RECOMMENDED ME TO REPLACE THE REAR CALIPERS, BRAKE PADS AND TURN ROTORS FOR $1100 STATING VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY BY 3 MONTHS.
I am writing to report a serious safety issue with my 2021 Ford Bronco. While driving on the highway at approximately 55-60 mph in the early morning, I heard a loud noise and saw powder falling on me. Upon pulling over, I discovered that a large section of my hardtop had blown off. Specifically, the plastic part over the fiberglass detached. If there had been a car behind me, it would have certainly been struck by the debris. This incident poses a significant danger not only to me but to other motorists as well. Ford is aware of this issue but has refused to address it. I consider this a critical safety hazard and request that this matter be investigated promptly. I believe the manufacturer should replace the defective hardtop and take responsibility for ensuring the safety of their vehicles. Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
