I bought a 2021 Bronco Sport Brand new and ever since the car has been a problem. The rear axle wasn’t getting enough lubricants so it was grinding and I didn’t know what it was at the time but I took it to a Ford dealership and was told after spending 200$ on diagnostic testing that absolutely nothing was wrong with the vehicle. The vehicle kept doing the same thing grinding noises so I took it in again and got the same results now mind you this is way before my power train was up. The car felt so unstable and unsafe it got to the point where I had to just leave it at the dealership until Ford could help me with some financial assistance. While at the dealership Ford told the mechanic to check the transmission and upon checking the transmission the mechanic found a problem. The total of repairs came up to over 10k for a vehicle that doesn’t even have 65k miles on it. I was sold a brand new lemon. This was my first new car purchase and it has literally been the worst experience in my life. The brakes were recalled the fuel injection system now the battery which I’ve already spent 500$ on a new one last year has guess what? Been recalled as of 1/17/2025. So after thousands of dollars in rental car and Uber rides which I have yet to be reimbursed for my vehicle is still at the Ford dealership has been there for over 3 months out of 10k in repairs Ford offered to pay only 4,100. What a rip off buying this junk was. I really thought Ford would do the right thing and take care of

August 2024 had multiple instances where the Bronco Sport would stall out while driving, had to maneuver to the side of the road, turn the vehicle completely off, and try multiple times to restart the vehicle. Jack Demmer Ford sent a technician to our house to flash the Powertrain Control Module and Body Control Module. We saw the Part 573 Safety Recall Report 24V-267, where these modules were undercharging the battery, causing the stalling of the vehicle. The vehicle stalled out two more times after the update and has continued to run thereafter. On [XXX], Bronco Sport was struck from behind on the driver's side rear tire, car came to rest against the back axle. There was damage to the axle, rear quarter panel, tail light, and aligned rear tailgate. The vehicle battery was disconnected 12-15 times during the work, we would get messages on the app that "Remote features disabled to preserve battery" as they worked on the vehicle. The vehicle was finally ready on [XXX], for pickup. Drove the car approximately 22 miles and parked in the garage. The following morning we went to start the Bronco and there was a loud bang when we pushed the start button, and all electrical features were dead. We had to vacate the vehicle, all the power features were dead, unload, and take another vehicle for travel. When we returned on [XXX], I popped open the hood and discovered battery damage. Battery acid leaked out into a 5-foot puddle on the garage floor, power steering reservoir drained also.
Battery failed exactly as described in Ford recall 25S02 NHTSA# 25V019. On 11/1/24 drove vehicle 125 miles home on a return trip and parked car in garage. Morning of 11/2/24, vehicle would not start, battery is dead. Tried to charge battery with external charger, would not take a charge. Called dealer, scheduled appointment for 11/4/24. Morning of 11/4/24, started vehicle with a jump box, took vehicle to dealer. Vehicle would not start when shut off at Dealer. Lucky have made it there, I had shut off the auto restart vie dash button, if I had not shut it off, I would have been stranded at my first traffic stop. Dealer determined it was a failed battery, replaced it at a cost of $510 as vehicle was 2 weeks out of warranty. I reluctantly paid the $510. I was lucky that the vehicle did not start running on that (11/1/25) 125 mile drive, the battery was almost dead at the end of the trip, and of course, it would have stalled when battery got too low. There were in-dash warning messages about low battery near the end of the trip. Ford and the dealership won't reimburse me for the $510. They state that they have to test the battery under the recall, even though that original battery was disposed of by the dealership. Dealership wants to test the 2 month old replacement battery under the recall before they can do anything about a refund. That makes no sense, the replacement almost certainly will test ok.
The evaporative emissions system failure involving the purge valve and vapor canister purge valve is a recurrent issue on this car and has been reported by hundreds if not thousand of bronco sport owners. All recall for 1.5L and I am sure the badlands have the same parks and is not included in the recall. less than 60,00o mile with a check engine light on. The safety issue that arises from this is that we are emitting more fuel vapors into the atmosphere. Please add recall to cover Badland if they contain same parks as 1.5L!!!! Also the windshield wiper pump did not work. I can not clean the windshield wen needing to see out of it. i have to pull over and clean at local gas station.

In August of 2024, my vehicle shut down after sitting at a red light. The vehicle would not turn back on nor could I put it in neutral to move it out of the way of traffic. It was explained to me that the battery was bad and had to be replaced when I took it in for service the next day. A recall was placed on my vehicle yesterday related to battery issues and I suspect my prior battery had the same issue as referenced in the recall. My car at the time was under 40,000 miles.
This has been an ongoing issue since I purchased the vehicle in July 2024. It has become so bad that the vehicle is nearly un-driveable. FORD states it is a non-issue, non safety related and there is no know fix at this time. FORD has been buying vehicles back due to this "secret recall" but after numerous calls and visits to both dealers and the Ford customer care line, nothing is being done. And while FORD might state it is an "inconvenience", when driving on the highway and a cylinder just randomly shuts down, the vehicle loses power and backfires and vibrates it is a safety concern. I have been EXTREMELY patience and professional in all my dealings with FORD on this matter, yet they refuse to offer me any help or come to a resolution in my case.
Complained numerous times about a clunk noise art parking lot speeds Finally on my Ford dealer 7/10/24 they diagnosed TSB 24-2185 and had me pay $433.53 to replace Vent Hose not covered under my powertrain warranty My mileage was 48986 on that date If part was labeled as RDU Vent hose why not covered under power train warranty? The day I was there, they has another Bronco in with this same issue they told me The service department told they wouldn't be surprised if thus became a recall. I don't see any recall to this day for this issue Ford knows about
Rear brakes are noisy, they make a grinding noise. Ever since we got the vehicle . Screens turn black while driving , can control infotainment system Water gets into the vehicle when it rains or when getting car washed
The car has now on three separate occasions lost power while driving. As I slow down coming to stop or reducing speed car will completely lose power and then struggle to restart. Both occasions were on busy roads. Additionally, when you put fuel in the car it does not turn on right away it smells like fuel is burning and fumes enter into the cabin. When you push start after fueling it struggles to turn car on to drive. There is full accessory power but no power to drive the car even when giving it gas. It requires multiple attempts at starting the vehicle and it will tremble and shake once it starts running and stutters as if about to shut off even when you start driving it. Today it powered down again while driving and we avoided and accident but it is becoming dangerous to drive the vehicle due to its unpredictable shutting down.
Tranmission failed at 137k miles. Inspection revealed the tranmission was beyond repair and would have to be replaced. Last maintenance was tranmission fluid change at 95k miles by Ford dealer.
The vehicle has been in the shop since day one with many many problems! The TURBO failed under warranty so they replaced it without doing proper procedures. A few months later the turbo failed again out of warranty but this time cracked the head causing damages I can not afford!! The vehicle is sitting at the dealership not fixed!! I want out of this lemon!!! I tried getting them to buy it back when I took it to the shop three different times due to break issues they could not fix but a Ford representative told me it "had too many miles" I work out of this vehicle and have not been able to work now for three months!! Note...after the first TURBO was replaced I told the dealership the vehicle was loosing antifreeze but all they did was pressure check the radiator. A few months later engine failure due to turbo failure!!
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated while his son was driving 55 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The steering wheel then seized. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the battery was replaced. The technician inspected the alternator and stated that the alternator could not be replaced since it was fully charged. The contact stated that during the second failure, the emergency brake was applied independently. The vehicle was towed to a Walmart Service Center waiting to be towed by Ford's road side assistance. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
The battery that came with the vehicle lasted less than 2 years. It was replaced after one day the car just wouldn’t hold any charge. I have the pep boys receipt and record to prove the battery would no longer hold any charge.
Battery is healthy, but car wouldn’t start. Car was just inspected and passed with flying colors. The car has stalled three times while driving, and a fourth time, it wouldn’t start. It gave the red battery warning on the dashboard when it wouldn’t start. Waited a few minutes and tried a couple times and it finally started. Drove it home nearby and don’t plan on driving it until problem is eradicated. The battery works sometimes and then doesn’t other times. There’s no warning, just stalls out of nowhere every once in a while.
Breaks squeal while in reverse.

The car caught fire the morning of Dec 11, 2024 while the vehicle's owner was driving their children to school. There are photos and a fire report is being generated. The vehicle's owner and her children could have been killed. Early indications are that the fire was caused by the same faulty engine/exhaust system defect that the owner has been complaining to Ford about for years. It is assumed the fire report will confirm that. For the past two or more years the vehicle has been emitting exhaust fumes into the passenger compartment of the vehicle while driving. This has caused the vehicle's owner and her children to get sick and forced them to drive the vehicle with the windows down at all times even in cold weather. Ford's dealers have confirmed the problem several times, but either could not or refused to fix it. A summary of the vehicle's service history is included below: 35,662 miles Customer states inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. 37,431 miles Inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. 39,856 miles inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. confirmed customers concern found cat warped at mating surface to turbo replacement required. 46,832 miles Fumes getting inside the Cab, seems to be blowing in from vents. If I had gotten notice I could have replaced the battery prior to the car literally bricking as I was driving it on a busy city street.

My 2021 Bronco Sport suddenly died on [XXX]. The parking brake engaged unexpectedly, locking all four brakes and resulting in a significant skid mark. An error message flashed: “Park Not Available. Apply Park Brake Before Exiting,” and the park gear light blinked. I turned off the engine again, but the car was dead when I tried to restart it. After getting a jump start, the car turned on. However, the parking brake engaged again shortly after. I was able to drive it off the road. My wife, a research librarian, found that many others have reported issues related to “Sudden Death Syndrome." See below. [XXX] [XXX] ). The car was towed from PA, where we were visiting, to Stanford Ford, where we purchased it on [XXX]. On 11/13, the dealership told us there was a short circuit in the wiring connected to the solenoid and estimated $900.00 for labor. At noon on 11/15, the technician was test-driving the car. By 4:17 PM, I was told it was ready. 5 min. later, they told me it wasn't ready due to another issue. At 11:15am on 11/18, we were informed the issue was a short circuit in the transmission, costing $13,000. How is that possible? The car is only three years old! We've faced many recalls with this car, the last just this past August, but the most dangerous issue is the unexpected engagement of the parking brakes, causing chaotic behavior. Given the number of similar incidents, it's hard to believe there hasn't been a recall. We could have been injured or even killed if we had been

REAR DIFFERENTIAL- CAR IS SHUDDERING WHILE TURNING- SAFETY ISSUE
My vehicle was emitting fumes into my vehicle and making a strange noise. When I took it to the dealership they tested the emissions/catalytic converter and fuel injectors. Which all showed no issues. When investigating further, they found that the weld on the catalytic converter had broke and was causing an unstable catalytic converter. Service manager reported to me that he felt this was definitely a manufactured defect and said if I hit a bear that shouldn’t have been an issue. No bear was hit and there was NO incident at all. Just driving to and from work.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
