The truck is jumpy during stops. I get a low voltage code but the battery is fine I had it checked out. Reduced acceleration has been activated and after I turn the truck off it is fine. The check engine light comes on and turns off on it's on sometimes same day. I know there is a recall on certain 2022 Silverados but they told me this one wasn't on the recall. It did have one for the brake system they said.
Vehicle has a 10-speed electronic controlled transmission that has been identified having issues in other models. The vehicle is experiencing jerking, hard shifting, and shifting delays. I want my model of vehicle to be included in the recall. Recently had the engine replaced due to another recall.
Going down highway in winter conditions and vehicle had a shudder and was shifting funny and blew up total loss of power..this happend a week after getting recall done and engine oil changed..that was a very dangerous position to put me and my passenger in. Toal failure of bottom end..
The engine seized while at highway speed in traffic during evening rush hour. The engine failure has been confirmed by a GM dealer and is set for replacement. There was no warning or indication that total engine failure was imminent.
I started my truck and was driving it started to shake and felt forced. Making a sound vibration . I received a message on dashboard " Reduce acceleration drive with care" it felt like I was going to loose power so I turned into the parking lot and had it towed to chevrolet dealership for service. The safety was good in the sense that I parked the vehicle into a parking lot to prevent accidents in the freeway. The dealership claims it's my engine needs replacement.
Truck shift irratically and engine revved high and engine oil too hot message came up. Truck started to shut down on highway at 65mph pulling trailer and side by side in traffic. Once stopped truck would not restart. Engine oil temp was pegged too hot. Had to have truck towed.
The rear window did not stop when a child's hand was in the closing space. The [XXX] old's hand was caught, causing injury and pain. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My wife borrowed my truck and went to Costco, after backing out of the parking spot the truck sputtered and stalled in the lane of travel. The truck would not start and more importantly she was not able to get it into neutral. The truck would simply state "shift conditions not met" and would stay in park. There is no options listed in the manual to get the vehicle into neutral manually. This "shift conditions not met" bricked my truck in the entrance / exit of a busy Costco. What would have happened if this happened on a main road or a freeway?
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel became firm, making it difficult to steer the vehicle. The contact stated that the check engine, traction control, and Forward Collision Avoidance warning lights illuminated, with the "Service Power Steering, “Drive with Care", and "Service ESC" messages displayed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the power steering assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
My vehicle lost reverse. It can not reverse what so ever. I was in traffic when it happened thankfully someone where there willing to help. I was told I needed a valve body, after spending 3k plus I was then told the transmission has to be replaced. And its a common thing with these vehicle losing your ability to reverse while driving is very very dangerous.
The automatic shifting gear is not shifting the vehicle won't speed up.
I own a 2022 Chevy Silverado with a 6.2 liter engine. I had the original engine up until approx 80k in mileage when it failed, I was on a dark country road doing approximately 50mph and the propulsion system failed and the truck shut off, being a country road, I had minimum breaking and minimal steering. I had my [XXX] son in the car, we ended up in a culvert and I scraped either a large rock or a piece of concrete that sometimes line culverts, it did damage. At the time, until recently, I had no idea I should report this. I did know that GM had issued a recall and I believed the engineer would be covered, which it was. I never reported the damage to insurance as I didn't want my ins to go up anymore, so I have not fixed it yet. My [XXX] old was scared beyond belief. Anyhow, Williams Chevy in Elkton, Md replaced the engine free of any cost. I believe the dates are approx to be 9/26 to 10/25/ 2025.On or about 11/25 or 26th 2025, with approx 2k miles on the newly installed 6.2 liter engine, while traveling with my [XXX] son, I experienced another catastrophic engine failure. This time we were traveling on 896 in Delaware and rt 40. While crossing over, the car cut off completely again while traveling at 50mph. We barely avoided a collision on the other side of the intersection with merging traffic, I applied the Manuel breaks along with the power steering was out too. My spouse was angry that GM is still doing this knowing this could be the result.Upon the 2nd installation, I dr

They did the pico test they said the engine was good they upgraded the oil months after that 3 time back to the dealer do to loss of Propulsion its in a GM dealer SHOP waiting for the new long block as of 02-16-2026
Truck went into limp mode. Would not shift. Stayed in one gear and would not back up. The truck basically downshifted from 8th to 2nd gear, causing me to lock up the brakes and almost lose control. Several warning lights on the dash. It's been at a transmission shop for over 3 weeks. They are having issues being able to get parts from GM. They are having problems fixing it. The blind spot lights will turn on for no reason. The lights opposite of the vehicle comes on. I've almost wrecked multiple times.
The raido screen glitches randomly and wont let you use it. The engine has a bad shudder while driving. When the engine shudders the RPMs go down. It has hard shift most of the time after sitting over night and starting driving in the morning. It has been doing these issues for at least 6 months.
Loud chatter/rattle noise under acceleration and idle loss of power with no engine lights on dash metallic shards in oil.
I had the GM 6.2L motor recall test, it passed. Catastrophic engine failure at 50mph roughly 6000-7000 miles later. Luckily I got off the road safely. Confirmed by GM dealer, new engine has been ordered. No warning lights.
While driving my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST, the vehicle has lost power on two to three separate occasions. During these incidents, the truck experienced a sudden loss of engine power and electrical functionality while in motion. The vehicle either significantly reduced power or shut down unexpectedly, creating an immediate safety hazard. The failure appears to involve the electrical system and/or powertrain, as dashboard functions and vehicle response were affected at the same time as the loss of propulsion. In at least one incident, this occurred at driving speed, placing me and other motorists at risk of a collision due to the sudden loss of acceleration and reduced ability to maneuver safely. No prior warning lamps or messages consistently appeared before the failure. The incidents occurred without warning. The problem is intermittent and has happened more than once, increasing concern that the defect may worsen or result in a crash. This issue represents a serious safety risk because loss of power while driving can lead to loss of control, rear-end collisions, or inability to safely move out of traffic. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
The engine coolant control valve went out on my vehicle. It is an 2022 LM2 engine. I found that that part frequently goes bad prematurely on this model. I also determined that this should be covered under N252508341. I was told by GM customer support that based on my vin it is not covered and they would not give me any further information. This is outrageous as this is the same defective part covered on their extended warranty.
Brought my 2022 Chevy Silverado 6.2 L engine into dealership for Safety Recall N252494001 L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion. Engine passed this initial inspection, Oil, Oil Filter and Oil cap was changed and was sent on my way. February 4th, 2026, Engines lost propulsion while traveling at highway speed, (75mph) causing a serious safety concern with rush hour traffic. After pulling over to the side of the highway, I reset the truck by cycling the ignition and was able to start the truck. On February 5th, 2026, Engine lost propulsion again at neighborhood speed, (20) in a construction site. Truck was blocking traffic at this point. Engine was unable to be started, transmission was locked in Parked and unable to be shifted. Had to have truck "dragged" out of traffic. Dealership was notified that I had possible catastrophic engine failure. I was advised by dealership to have it towed, at my expense to them. Truck was towed at a cost of $196 out of pocket. Tow cost an extra $50 due to the electronic shift no allowing for transmission to be shifted into neutral or linkage to be released by tow company. February 6th, 2026, dealership notified me that the engine had a catastrophic failure and would need to be replaced. Dealership has motor but trying to source one time use parts that were currently unavailable. No time frame given on sourcing those parts as of February 10th, 2026. Dealership/GM arranged for a rental car but financial limits set by GM does not include the ability to be g
I was driving on the highway and there was a sudden drop in power and hesitation in the engine. I slowed down too quickly on a busy highway and almost got rear ended. I took it to the shop and found out I had to replace the engine due to the cam and lifters were bad. It cost $12,000 to replace a four year engine with 148,000 miles. The time before that this happened, I had to replace the engine wiring harness
On 2/5/2026, the 6.2 liter L87 engine in my 2022 ZR2 Silverado locked up and is currently located at Edwards Chevrolet on highway 280 in Birmingham, AL. While on I-65 in Birmingham, AL. and prior to locking up, the engine power decreased, and RPM's increased, followed by a dash message that oil temperature is high; pull over and idle. After idling the engine the dash message disappeared and oil pressure was good. We drove approx. 1.5 miles to a parking lot where the engine seized or locked up. The truck was towed to the above referenced dealership. The dealership confirmed the engine was locked up the next day. During the Summer of 2025, the dealership inspected the engine and performed an oil consumption test after I reported the engine had burned two quarts of oil between oil changes. Their fix was to transition from 0W-20 to 0W-40 oil, which has been adhered to since. The truck only has 56,000 miles on it.
Instar and Telematics module faulty! Click is 30 min behind, auto me time set will not work, manual time looses 1min a day. No onstar button, no Google Maps or compass. Others have had same issue- telematics module
On febuary,3,2026 i was traveling down a local highway at 50 mph when i felt a sudden power loss and heard a squeaking noise figuring something was wrong i pulled over at the next safest spot, while pulling into the spot the squeaking noise developed into a "rod knock" the sound a loud metal clattering noise that was consistent with the rpms. i immediately shut the vehicle off and called a local towing service who promptly dropped it at my local chevy dealership the night of febuary,3,2026. further contact was made with dealership the day of febuary,4,2026 regarding the issue , prior to this issue the truck had been in for the recall regarding the L87 6.2 liter engine and it had passed the inspection and was given the oil change and the new oil cap and owners manual.
A recurring malfunction occurs with the infotainment/radio and rear backup camera display. The rear backup camera view remains stuck ON while driving forward in DRIVE at speeds over 20 mph, including highway speeds. The system also cycles between screens (including switching to the camera view), and the infotainment freezes and becomes unresponsive (loss of screen/control). Audio playback and hands-free calls become staticky/distorted. These events create a serious driver distraction and safety risk while driving. This has occurred multiple times, including during long-distance driving, and has been significant enough that I have had to pull over to the side of the road multiple times. In multiple incidents, the system did not recover until I pulled a fuse to reset/shut down the system so I could continue driving safely. The unit remains powered ON after the vehicle is turned OFF and exited. There is also a history of battery drain/no-start events requiring jump starts. No warning lights or warning messages are displayed before or during the failure; the system becomes unresponsive and behaves unpredictably. The problem is intermittent and has occurred multiple times over the life of the vehicle, including after a head unit replacement. Dealers have documented the concern on repair orders; during the most recent visit the dealer noted no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored.
It stopped working and i turned it off and on it it worked next day stopped working and did the same thing its been doing it for about 5 months and it faild and dont work any more
Transmission is not acting up just light for service transmission now will stop shifting soon
Truck has been experiencing intermittent stalling since 1200 miles. Was reported to the dealer and manufacturer. At approximately 20,000 miles (Spring 2025) the truck stalled out at high speed on the highway at approximately 70 mph near Tennessee during a work trip. When stalled, truck lost its ability to steer and break causing the truck to drive off the road and only stopped due to the truck rolling to a stop off-road. Luckily nothing was seriously damaged and it was a rural area with minimal traffic and flat grass lands on the side of the highway.
At 60,079 miles (just after reaching the 60,000 mile drivetrain warranty limit) received message on dash indicating reduced acceleration accompanied by the check engine light. Message would clear after the truck was restarted. Message came back occasionally over the next few months. After checking the codes I found a P0747 code indicating a problem with the transmission valve body: solinoid A stuck on. I opted to fix it myself by installing a valve body upgrade kit from NextGen Drivetrain. GM valve body is worthless. A $70,000+ truck should be more reliable. Thank you to NextGen Drivetrain for a real solution where GM failed. GM should pay.
January 23, 2026, Truck wouldn't start, would crank but not turn over. We lost power steering. We're stranded and had it towed to chevy dealership. System code reported the fuel pump control module had failed. For some reason, GM did not include Chevy Silverado in their list of vehicles in the 2025 fpcm recall. We're lucky we weren't on the freeway when this part failed. We would have been going 60mph with loss of power steering. GM needs to do better. Was repaired under warranty at Sunset Chevrolet 901 Traffic Ave, Sumner WA.
My 2022 Silverado Pickup with 6.2 engine simply died as I was heading down the highway at 65mph. It was dark outside and I barely got it pulled over to side of road safely. Had to have it towed to Chevy dealer. They weren’t sure what problem was— starter and battery indicated ok. However we had them install new ones just in case. We’ve seen on our searches of the internet that this is not a new problem. Just today it died again on me as I was driving in town, but did start again. I travel quite a bit and am worried it will die on me again in this crazy cold weather! Chevy needs to acknowledge this issue with the 6.2 motor! I’ve already spent almost $1500 on this issue and don’t think it’s fixed,
As I was speeding from the fast lane to get across to the right lane off ramp when my vehicle suddenly shot off. I knew I couldn’t stop on the off ramp or on the bridge I was on. Luckily I had a green light at the top of the off ramp and coasted to an empty parking lot. Once I came to a complete stop I attempted to restart my truck but no luck. The truck would not even crank over. I tried multiple times and the dash would only go dark for a few seconds and I would try again to start and had no luck. Called AAA and they thought it was a battery so they put a jumper and same thing, no crank. Then they tried jumping it with jumper cables and still no crank at all. I had just installed a new battery no more than 4 months ago and my headlights, interior lights all are working fine, no dimming or anything like that. I just had an inspection on the engine last time the truck was at the dealer and they said everything was fine and they put a new oil cap and thicker oil. I think this is related to the safety recall Chevy just performed. This is a huge safety risk, I’m lucky I was able to pull off the freeway when this occurred. It’s not normal for a vehicle to just shutoff on you at freeway speeds.
My 2022 Silverado 1500 with the 6.2L V8 engine has had continuous problems since purchase. The original engine was replaced under warranty at approx. 24k miles and has now had the lifters and camshaft replaced, as well as the knock sensors. All of this had to be negotiated with GM and my poor service manager, despite numerous recalls and class action lawsuits with GM regarding these known issues. I would like to trade this truck off for something safe and reliable, however the used value is tanking as quickly as their new vehicles. Dealerships are offering over $11k off of new 2026 trucks, damaging the resale value of all 2021-2025 units. At this point I just want GM to purchase the vehicle back and let me find something safe for my family.
The first engine blew while pulling out of my street onto a 45 mph road in march of 2025. they did the useless recall on the new engine and said it was good. The replacement engine blew in the november of 2025 in the fast lane at 80 mph. no warning no check engine lights just shut off. The replacement engine started make noise like it was going to blow again in december 2025. I paid 65k to have 3 bad engines in one year. corporate gm was of no help
I was pulling out onto the road and heard a noise in the front and right after my upper ball joint snapped completely off folding the tire underneath the truck and smashing the whole front end. Very lucky I was not on the highway. Had truck towed into my shop where after examination part failed prematurely. My insurance paid for it all which was just short of $10,000 in damage minus my $500 deductible and the tow bill. Now I have lost my safe driving deduction because of this claim, which caused my insurance to skyrocket. There were no prior warning signs, and I have my vehicle serviced and inspected regularly at my service provider.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while shifting into park(P), the vehicle indicated that it was not in park(P). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 24,000.
The tailgate on the truck popped open without being triggered to. This continued to happen like every 5-10 seconds. It drained the battery and was a hazard as I drive down the road.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The stated that while the vehicle was parked, the tailgate opened independently, and the tailgate was manually closed. The contact stated that the next time after stepping out the vehicle, the tailgate opened independently. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started the tailgate was down, and the hazard light flashed. Most recently, the vehicle failed to start. The contact realized that the battery had failed to function as intended. The contact associated that the failure was a possible short circuit from the tailgate. The contact disconnected the battery. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the tailgate switch had failed and caused the battery to drain. The vehicle remained at the dealer pending the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the vehicle vibrated and failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that while the turn signal was activated, there was no sound, and the light on the OnStar button failed to illuminate as intended, and the Wi-Fi intermittently failed to operate as intended. Most recently, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the telematic module had failed. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.
My truck has the 6.2l engine that is in recall. I received my letter and took it in for inspection and oil change as recommended (Dec 15, 2025). Less than a month later (Jan 26, 2026) my engine started making loud noises. Got it to the dealership. The claim found metal in oil, spun rod bearings. They did replace engine under recall at no charge but then a week later my check engine light came on. Bad battery control module. not sure if this was due to engine swap, etc.
On 09/25/25 at 59,502 miles recall work was completed per NHTSA Recall No. 25V-274, L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion. Dealer paperwork shows that my truck passed the PicoScope inspection and was given the higher viscosity 0W-40 oil. On 12/10/25 at 63,904 miles, with the oil that was changed during the inspection; while traveling on highway NM-52 towing my travel trailer, I experienced a sudden loss of propulsion resulting in my truck stopping in the middle of the roadway. No prior indications of any issues were noted, no check engine lights, no loss of oil pressure, when loss of propulsion occurred. While in the middle of the road I attempted to restart the truck with no start-up. Using gravity, the truck was slowly moved off of the highway backwards. Upon opening the engine hood, a strong odor of burnt engine oil was present. No oil was noted coming out from the engine. When removing the engine oil dip stick it was noted to be steaming and extremely hot to the touch. Due to the location the vehicle it took 2 days to be taken to the dealer. No local vendors were able to pick up the truck to take to the dealer resulting in it having to be personally trailered to the dealer. The vehicle was taken to Bravo Chevrolet and Cadillac in Las Cruces NM. The dealer evaluation of the truck determine that the engine had seized and was replaced under the extended warranty per the same listed recall. This engine failed after passing the required inspections and while utilizing the newly recomm
I took my truck in for the recall on the L87 6.2 engine PCOED test and they said it passed. They changed to the 0-40 oil. I noticed a significant fuel mileage drop from mid 20 to low 14 on long highway drives. I had an oil change done and drove 500 miles the next day and there was just a trace of oil on the dipstick. I called my chevy dealership and they said that is normal for oil consumption. I topped off the oil before heading back home and used 3/4 of a quart. I am watching my oil consumption and looking to do an oil consumption test done by the dealership. They did not recommend this test I researched it. I am concerned my engine will blow up.
My truck has the 6.2l engine, prior to me buying it in September 2025 with 27,000 miles it had its engine replaced due to the recall/engine failure, then after 6,000 miles on 12-30-25 the 2nd engine it has had failed and had to be replaced. This truck that only has 34,000 miles is now on its 3rd motor and leaves me worried to really travel with it due to wondering if I am going to be stranded again.
On April 29, 2025 we took our truck in for these 3 recalls Serial Data Gateway Module • N242435631 -Fuel Injector Flow Rate• N242450630 - Park Assist Retrofit - Exp 05/31/27• N222375790. We picked the truck up and had no issues. Then on November 28, 2025 our fuel injector 2 went out. According to articles we have found the recall for the fuel injector flow rate specifically addresses the ECM not controlling fuel injector flow rates and because it was not doing this correctly it put added stress on the fuel injector #2. We took the vehicle to Ken Garf Chevrolet American Fork Utah and they diagnosed the issue as the fuel injector 2 being bad. They quoted us with parts 2000 dollars to fix it. After researching this recall information we took the vehicle to Sky Chevrolet in Provo Utah where we got the vehicle and where it was serviced in April and asked them to look into the fix. They are telling us that they cannot find any correlation between the fuel injector flow rate and the fuel injector 2 going out so they are wanting $600 dollars to fix the fuel injector flow rate. The next thing since the N242435631 update was performed, the automated clock on longer syncs. This is a known side effect of the gateway module update. We were again told that they could find no correlation between the clock and the recall. When doing research we found that that the 2 are very much connected. I would also like to complain about Ken Garf and how they "diagnosed" an issue we told them was alread
The engine started knocking. The Dealer confirmed the Thrust Bearing was the culprit. Engine replacement recommended. 41k. 6.2
On October 6th I took my truck in for the 6.2L recall and it failed. GM replaced the engine as. On Jan 15th 10 days after my first oil change just before 5000 miles the engine began to knock. After being towed 100 miles to the original dealer the replacement engine has blown and now I am waiting for another replacement.
Vehicle has experienced repeated internal engine failures related to the exhaust valve lash adjusters and valvetrain. The engine developed abnormal valvetrain noise, misfires under load, and loss of power. The check engine light would only flash during hard acceleration or when passing another vehicle (wide-open throttle), then turn off after approximately 10–15 seconds and never remain illuminated. Because the warning light would not stay on, the vehicle continued to be operated without clear indication of an active or worsening engine failure. Dealer inspection confirmed exhaust valve lash adjuster failure, which led to camshaft and valvetrain damage. This failure has occurred more than once, including after prior dealer repairs. This is a serious safety concern because the vehicle was driven at highway speeds and during passing maneuvers while experiencing internal engine damage and misfires, without persistent warning to the driver. Sudden power loss, stalling, or catastrophic engine failure during acceleration or passing presents a risk of crash or injury. This appears to be a systemic engine defect rather than normal wear, as the failure recurred and was not reliably detected by the vehicle’s monitoring system.
On December 12th, while on interstate 10, my engine started making clanking noise, it started to stall and jerk. I had try to get over to the shoulder of the interstate. I had to restart the truck to try and get off the interstate. It died out. I tried to restart and it did, just enough for me to get it off the interstate. It was finally towed to the dealership. The mechanic said it wasn’t under warranty. They say the rocker atms are bent and 2 pistons were damaged the charge The mechanic also said that my engine in my truck was too small for my truck. He doesn’t know why they use it …. They want $8700 to make the repairs, GM will not assist in cost off to r repair. I’ve come to find out this is a common problem in this model of my truck.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
