I am having the same issue as the GM Safety Recall N232426400 - where it says it is a common issue in 2020-2024 Chevy 1500's (which my truck is a 2022 Chevy). Where the tailgate will drop by itself. I looked into this recall and my truck is not included. However, it just rained heavy and now my truck's tailgate is dropping on it's own. This is a safety risk due to loading the truck bed and having it open on its own without me knowing resulting in items falling out of my truck onto the roadway. Another thing is my lane keeping assist is no longer working.

On June 18, 2026, my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L V8 engine and approximately 41,000 miles suddenly stalled and died while driving in traffic and would not restart. The vehicle had to be towed to a Chevrolet dealership (Starling Chevrolet in Mt. Pleasant, SC). The service manager ran a diagnostic and identified the Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM) as the likely cause of failure. This appears to be a known and widespread issue affecting newer Silverado trucks. The sudden stall while driving with no warning created a dangerous situation in traffic. The vehicle is currently at the dealer awaiting repair under the powertrain warranty.

Took my 22 silverado with the L87 engine in for the recall. The dealer stated that my vehicle had a tick in the motor but it passed the pico test. They switched it to the 0W40 oil and stated that my engine will probably blow here soon, but until that happens there hands are tied. Today i took my truck in for another inspection because my motor had a very loud Tick noise almost sounding like metal on metal, they stated they did not hear anything and without more proof nothing can be done. My safety is very much put at risk when i report something to them thats happening with the vehicle, and if my motor blows while im driving 80 MPH i could crash into others or even die myself. My transmission is also having problems of what i would call Bucking when you put it into drive, i also filled up with gas last week shut my truck off pumped gas, got back into my truck and started it, went to put it into drive had no power shut it off and did it again, i had power but my rear wheels were locked up and wouldnt budge. shut it off turned my truck on and engaged the 4 wheel drive, and then disengaged it, still not able to drive. shut it off and put it back into drive and the rear wheels were able to drive normally. Dealership says theres a recall on the transmission to add a spacer plate so it was ordered. This issue needs to be taken very seriously this is why they say theres only 3% motors affected is because they decline the motors that have actual problems but its still running so to t

Low engine oil level appeared on my 2022 Silverado LTZ with the 6.2L engine for the first time of ownership. The truck is on the first 0W40 oil change performed for the engine recall with 42% engine oil life left. I get the oil changed around 30% left. Up until this point while running the 0W20 this hasn't happened. I'm now concerned that because of the oil viscosity difference that this may become an on going issue.

My trucks leaf springs need to be replaced. I am not a mechanic so I do not know if my safety is at risk, but I do not like the way it sounds when driving. My dealership has confirmed the issue and carshield said they are unable to pay for the repairs because it is a "bulletin". It should be a recall since they have had multiple complaints. I was not notified of the issue on my chevy ap or the truck. I had to take it in for an oil change, so I had the guys look at the area the noise was coming from.

Escalation of Recurring Powertrain Issue and Warranty Denial This statement outlines a severe, recurring safety issue with my vehicle’s 8-speed Escalation of Recurring Powertrain Issue and Warranty Denial transmission, which the dealership has now recommended replacing at a cost of $7,500. I am formally disputing this out-of-pocket expense due to the vehicle's repair history and its alignment with active manufacturer recalls. First Incident (Towed to Dealership): The vehicle initially experienced severe jerking and hesitation during acceleration, which left me stranded roadside. It was towed to the dealership, where technicians diagnosed the issue as a faulty fuel injector. The injector was replaced at no cost, and I was assured the problem was resolved. Second Incident (Current Diagnosis): The vehicle recently began exhibiting the exact same symptoms: severe jerking and acceleration hesitation. Upon returning the vehicle to the dealership, technicians diagnosed the issue as a complete transmission failure requiring a full replacement. Recall Alignment: The dealership has stated that this replacement is not covered under warranty. However, this vehicle is actively experiencing every symptom outlined in the manufacturer's current 8-speed transmission recall. While my specific VIN is currently omitted from the recall list, the mechanical failure is identical to the recall parameters. Given that the underlying safety issue was present and documented during the first visit, and t

The vehicle experiences a recurring electronic and sensor failure where critical advanced safety systems completely shut down while driving. The dashboard displays active failures for the Front Collision Detection System, Automatic Headlights, and Lane Keeping Assistance. These sudden defects directly compromise the vehicle's crash avoidance features, nighttime visibility, and lane safety, creating a severe driving hazard. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Chevrolet dealership for this exact safety issue more than 10 times. Most recently, all safety lights turned back on less than half a mile after exiting the dealership following an alleged repair. The authorized service center has been completely unable to properly diagnose or permanently fix these safety systems, leaving an unsafe vehicle on the road.

On May 17th, my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (mileage: 38,628) suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure resulting in an immediate and total loss of motive power while traveling at highway speeds on I-465. Diagnostic testing confirmed DTC P129F, identifying a failure of the Fuel Pump Driver Control Module. The failure occurred while positioned in the fifth lane of a six-lane interstate. This was not a gradual loss of performance; it was an instantaneous shutdown that left the vehicle without engine power or standard steering/braking assistance in high-density, high-speed traffic. This defect placed all six passengers in immediate and imminent peril. To reach the shoulder, we were forced to navigate a dead vehicle across four lanes of active traffic, resulting in multiple near-miss collisions. The danger continued as we were stranded on the narrow shoulder of a major interstate. For our own safety, five passengers had to evacuate the vehicle on foot, crossing a busy two-lane exit ramp to reach a location where an Uber could safely retrieve them. I remained with the vehicle until it could be towed to Leo Chevrolet. General Motors is clearly aware of this defect, as evidenced by Recall Bulletin #N252516900.

The 2022 Chevy Silverado I own is having same problems with transmission as is the models indicated on the recall. This truck doesn’t show up on the recall and has transmission shuddering hard shifting and at times doesn’t respond as normal. This truck also underwent the 6.2 motor recall and had a new motor added. And passed the required inspection. My question is why is this 2022 Chevy Silverado with the 10 speed transmission not on the recall when it is shaking the same symptoms as others on the recall.

I was accelerating to onto the freeway to merge and my engine suddenly made a loud noise and my vehicle immediately lost power and the dashboard alert lights began going off to service engine. I was able to get to the edge of the highway and make it to the next exit to slowly make my way back to my office to have my vehicle towed to a garage. Luckily I had not fully merged into traffic when my vehicle suddenly slowed. There was heavy semi-truck traffic which they would not have been able to avoid rear ending me. The garage confirmed that a cylinder blew causing the drastic drop in power and speed. It has since been towed to the dealership to have their service team diagnose the issue after my usual independent mechanic had found the problem.

The rear window slider is made of plastic. Water gets in here then freezes creating a crack which water can then leak inside the vehicle. The water could very easily drip behind the back seat and get on electrical components and potentially start a fire. There are many cases of this happening to other people which can be seen on a google search or a question in a social media group of others with the same vehicle. The vehicle was brought to a dealership for repairs, the bulletin from GM just says to put some silicon in the crack. It can and typically does just crack in a different location. Vehicle developed engine ticking/tapping noise followed by rough running and misfire condition. Independent repair facility performed engine teardown and found cylinder 4 exhaust camshaft lobe severely worn/damaged. Repair facility stated the exhaust roller follower/lifter needle bearings failed and fell out, causing the roller to seize and come off position, resulting in improper valve operation and cylinder malfunction. Vehicle lost proper engine performance and required major internal engine repair including camshaft, lifters/lash adjusters, and roller followers. Failure appears consistent with GM Preliminary Information bulletin PIP5847B for 2019–2024 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 2.7L L3B engines describing exhaust roller follower bearing failure and camshaft damage. Concern is that sudden valvetrain failure could result in loss of power, engine failure, or unsafe driving condition.

Am writing to formally request an investigation and potential recall regarding a serious and increasingly reported issue affecting certain Chevrolet trucks. Numerous owners have experienced a malfunction in which the vehicle fails to properly recognize that it has been placed in park. As a result, the truck may remain running and not fully shut off, even after the driver has exited the vehicle. This presents a concerning safety risk not only to the owner but also to others nearby. This issue is not isolated. A growing number of drivers have shared similar experiences across various social media platforms, demonstrating that this may be a widespread defect rather than individual mechanical failures. Many of these reports include videos and firsthand accounts showing trucks remaining on, displaying incorrect gear status, or failing to power down as expected. The consistency of these reports suggests a systemic problem that warrants immediate attention. The safety implications of this defect are significant. A vehicle that does not properly register being in park can increase the risk of unintended movement, potential rollaways, or prolonged engine operation. This could lead to property damage, injury, or worse, especially in residential or high-traffic areas. Additionally, a truck that remains running unattended raises concerns about theft and unnecessary emissions. Given the potential dangers and the volume of public complaints, I respectfully urge the NHTSA to conduct a thoro
