Purchased vehicle in August of 2025 and there was an open recall for engine issues at that time. Took vehicle back to dealership in October or November for dealer to inspect. The vehicle passed the engine test and oil was changed to a heavier weight. From October/November 2025 I’ve been noting that there’s been a significant loss of engine oil prior to scheduled maintenance that requires anywhere between 4-5quart top off every three months or so. Feels like the vehicle is sluggish and has no “get-up”. Also, the Auto Emergency Brake light/system keeps malfunctioning. Even after it’s been replaced several times the light comes back on and you’re not able to control the forward collision gauge.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH on Interstate 10, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over; however, the vehicle failed to restart. A battery warning message and a no-start message were displayed. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine was locked due to bearing failure. The engine was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure via phone call and written letter, and the contact was provided with service points. The failure mileage was approximately 53,874.
Coolant Control Valve is malfunctioning. Running Fans: Loud cooling fans running at full blast shortly after turning off the engine. Extended Warranty Coverage: General Motors issued special coverages (N252508341 / N252508340) extending coolant control valve warranty protection to 15 years or 150,000 miles for select 3.0L Duramax vehicles. Unfortunately, GM says my VIN isn’t covered by the extended warranty even though it has all the same issues as those that are.
Engine failure. 5.3L motor
July 11, 2026 I experienced a lifter failure. Towed to GM dealer on July 13th. Dealer comfirmed lifter failure and camshaft damage and metal contamination throughout engine. Dealer installed replacement engine using my mechanical breakdown policy since I was out of factory warranty. Picked up truck one month later with new engine and the transmission started slipping and shuttering. Took back to dealer who claimed metal fragments in fluid and said transmission needed to be replaced. I then made a second claim on my mechanical breakdown policy and the dealer replaced the transmission. All of these issues are known issues with the engine and transmission.
45,000 Mile 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT - Vehicle began rough shifting, slipping gears, failing to engage into drive, and shuddering at constant acceleration. Transmission valve body failure and replacement needed - confirmed by certified Chevy dealer. Awaiting receipt of warranty valve body from GM, but part has not been released by GM - estimate from dealer is 5+ weeks for receipt of the part based on recent experience with another customer requiring the same repair.
I was driving vehicle through town when I suddenly lost all power and luckily was able to get off the road. Onstar sent a code and it was a fuel pump module
Lifters failed at 4,000 miles.
Engine abruptly lost power in middle of high speed lane. I did not have enough momentum to make it to safety, totally on the shoulder, Transmission locked up, couldn’t move vehicle to safety, Extremely dangerous situation!!!
This vehicle suffers from parasitic electrical drain. Is the car sits for a few days, it draws power down from the battery, which then causes the collision detection system to stop functioning.
While traveling in bumper to bumper highway traffic in my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado RST, I attempted to accelerate and the vehicle suddenly malfunctioned. I experienced sever loss/restriction of propulsion and the vehicle would not respond normally to accelerator input. I was able to maneuver toward the shoulder of the road while avoiding a major multi-car pile up involving innocent motorists. When I attempted to stop, I did not have normal braking ability and was unable to stop in the manner I expected. I had to use the shoulder of the highway to slow the truck down until I could come to a complete stop. This created an immediate risk of serious or fatal collision on the highway, and as I maneuvered the truck out of traffic to the side of the road. Had I been unable to reach the shoulder of the road, I could have been struck by surrounding traffic. Had this failure occured un an urban area or at an intersection, near pedestrians, or at a school bus stop- I could have seriously injured or killed people or myself. After I was able to come to a complete stop. I shut it off and turned it back on, then the truck read there was no gas left (I had a 1/2 tank). This incident is not isolated electronic glitch, I have experienced electrical malfunctions including the truck failing to start, unlocking, responding at all. This all occured after an engine replacement due to a recall. I am concerned that there are unresolved electrical and power-distribution, communication-network, propuls
The front upper control arm failed and the driver side wheel collapsed. There was no warning. Luckily I wasn’t pulling my RV camper down a mountain, it could have been catastrophic . I towed it to Carson Chevrolet. They gave me an estimate of $6,000 + for repairs. They had no reasonable explanation.
Component/system failed: The 6.2L L87 engine. The engine ultimately seized and the vehicle became inoperable. The engine should be available for inspection because it is being replaced under GM Special Coverage N252494003. Safety risk: The engine unexpectedly shut off while driving at highway speeds. Loss of propulsion in traffic creates a significant collision risk. The inability to restart left the vehicle disabled. Confirmed: An independent repair facility confirmed that the engine was seized prior to towing it to the GM dealer. Yesterday the GM dealer confirmed i had a seized engine and it was going to be replacement under N252494003 special coverage entention. Inspections: My truck was inspected in October 25, for the recall. My truck passed this test, and was subsequently was told my oil spec has been revised. Warnings/symptoms: no warning was given
2022 Silverado RST with the L87 engine loss propulsion in traffic of Memorial day weekend with approximately 43,800 miles on the vehicle. Has since been fixed by Chevrolet dealership. Also passed their Pico test, changed oil viscosity and oil cap still failed after their test.
The vehicle previously received the official GM Recall Campaign 25V-274 remedy/inspection, but suffered catastrophic engine failure and sudden loss of propulsion afterwards.
The digital dashboard display began to flicker. Off more so than on making the dash unreadable. No speedometer, no fuel gauge, no gauges of any kind. When you received an audible notification from the vehicle, you had no way to see the message. As far as any vehicular information, you were not able to see anything.
I own a 2022 Chevrolet silverado 1500 that is jumping and jolting. There is currently a federal recall and the dealership is denying to fix it for free under recall because our VIN is not yet listed, despite the vehicle suffering from the exact transmission failure reported for the same year, make and model. This matches the exact parameters of Safety Recall N252516560. The vehicle is unsafe to drive
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the engine temperature increased while driving approximately 60 - 70 MPH. The message “Reduced Speed due to High Temperature” was displayed. The temperature gauge increased to high and then down to low. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was caused by the coolant control valve. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The contact was advised that an error message needed to be displayed before moving forward. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
Automatic transmission failed due to code P0722 (Output Speed Sensor signal lost). The vehicle experienced sudden loss of propulsion, violent/harsh shifting, and severe drivability issues while operating on the highway. Loss of forward motive power at high speeds creates an immediate collision hazard. The vehicle was previously serviced for transmission issues but the defect recurred. The vehicle remains parked and inoperable due to safety concerns.
I have a 2022 silverado ltd with the 6.2. I purchased the truck about a month and a half ago the previous owner had the 40 weight oil recall completed prior to my purchase. I had the oil changed when it said 45 percent life remaining far before it was due a certified chevy dealer completed the oil change with the 40 weight correct oil. Well about 8 days ago I went out and started the truck and heard a clunk sound like a failing starter would make. So later that day I notice a ticking noise as well as a chirping noise. Coming from engine bay. I made note of it. Ever since the noise began I have kept close eyes on it the ticking and chirping rise and fall when I give it gas. Yesterday when I started it the clunk noise happened but this time I felt a shudder or stutter I looked at the rpms and they didn't move at all with the shudder. I have an appointment Monday morning to take it to the dealer I looked into the recall for the thicker oil. And learned that this motor is pretty much junk and multiple issues I haven't driven it since yesterday because the issues I'm having correspond with complete engine failure at any point and I do not want to be on the highway and it happen that would put me and other motorist at risk injury. There has been no warning lights no engine light just the initial clunk the first time and since that it's just been getting worse
The motor seized. My life was at risk. I was on the highway. The vehicle was reported to the Chevy dealership and diagnose that the motor is locked.
* Engine/ Yes available for inspection. * Has not happened yet, however the risk exists. * Yes, oil consumption and has been confirmed by dealer and monitored every 1,000 miles. * Been inspected by local dealer only. * Yes, low oil pressure light came on. I was 2 qtrs. LOW, XXX My vehicle was inspected and according to them "passed". 0W-40 was introduced and a new oil cap indicates the change. GM explains that it is acceptable to burn up to 2 qtrs. of oil between oil changes. They have me come to the dealer every 1,000 miles to check the oil level. I came back from a work-related function, putting approx. 220 miles. It was time for oil level inspection, and my engine was found to be 1/2qtr. LOW. I ask them to top it off and I was told; “we do not stock this oil in bulk; you have to buy a qt. and we'll put it in." I have been a car owner since I was [XXX], now [XXX] and have never heard such nonsense in my life. In fact, in my lifetime, I have NOT experienced engine burning oil. This is a 6.2 liter with 57,700 and my fear is that something catoptric will happen to the motor resulting in no recourse. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Transmission failed at 38,000 miles. Downshifted violently while driving and couldn't keep up with the 35mph speed limit. Was luckily not on a highway or far from home. Dealership noted it's a common valve body issue in the transmission. No inspections, vehicle has a branded title (hail) and Chevy claims no responsibility for the transmission failure. 0 warning signs or issues.
I was driving down the road and all of a sudden the check engine light came on, the check the parking brake light came on, and the service electronic stability control system light came on. The engine then started making a knocking sound. These trucks have a known lifter issue. I had a 2021 that had the same problem. It was still under warranty so I was able to get out from under it. This one isn’t and they want $9,000 to replace the engine. There is a recall on the 6.2 liter but not for the 5.3 liter for some reason. These engines have an issue
While driving 65mph on the highway the engine locked up and shut down. There was a loss of propulsion and steering making it difficult to safely maneuver off the highway.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the tailgate unexpectedly opened. The contact stated that the failure was a recurring failure. The dealer was contacted and stated that there was a related recall for the failure; however, the recall was only for vehicles manufactured in Canada. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH and towing a trailer on Route 16 with his children inside the vehicle, within 10 minutes of driving, there was smoke coming from underneath the vehicle and entering the cabin. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver pulled over safely. Additionally, the contact stated that there was no issue prior to the failure. First responders arrived on the scene but were unable to use fire extinguishers to contain the fire. The contact called 9-1-1. Within approximately 10 minutes, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, which reached an estimated height of 10 feet. A Police report and a Fire Department report were filed. The driver and his two children sustained smoke inhalation. The contact's daughter was vomiting; however, medical attention was not provided. The contact stated that a nearby vehicle and the trailer were damaged from the fire. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.
Transmission failure with no electronic warning or codes. Hard shifting was identified while under warranty but because no codes were present no action was taken to correct the issue.
Engine sudden loss of propulsion while driving on interstate w/out warning. Pulled to side and check engine light and hot oil warning came on prior to engine dying. Had to call tow and dealer says engine needs to be replaced but they won’t ship vehicle back after repair and it’s 4 hours from my house, that I need to pick it up
When driving, the vehicle’s computer detects an issue with the vehicle’s transmission and throws a “Reduced acceleration. Drive with care” which causes a strong jerk like if the wheel locked up momentarily. The check engine also turns on and the vehicle stays stuck in 5th gear at all times. Code P0747 is thrown as well.
VEHICLE: 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, VIN [XXX] DEFECT: Transmission suddenly, violently downshifts from a high gear to a much lower gear with no driver input, at highway speed. Causes RPM spike, violent jerking, Check Engine Light, loss of vehicle control. Occurred 5 times. Not fixed despite 4 dealer repairs, 61 days out of service. 5/12/26 - 1st failure, 70+ mph on I-5, stuck in low gear. 5/14-6/8/26 - Repair 1, Bud Clary Chevrolet: valve body solenoid replaced. 6/13/26 - 2nd failure days later, Hwy 12 (no cell service), spouse + [XXX] infant in vehicle, forced to keep driving to reach safety. 6/13-6/17/26 - Repair 2, Harvest Chevrolet: same fault codes; valve body connector found loose. 6/17/26 - 3rd failure, same day picked up, same [XXX] location. 6/19-6/26/26 - Repair 3, [XXX] Chevrolet Diagnosed by TSB#25-NA-301: wiring found chafed/pinched. Dealer's own paperwork says cause of fault codes could not be determined. I requested full internal transmission inspection; declined. 6/26/26 - 4th failure, same day picked up, ~100 mi later, [XXX] [XXX], family in vehicle. Dealer denied promised tow after 4-hr wait; transport arranged. 7/1-7/17/26 - Repair 4, [XXX]: GM's national Technical Assistance Center directed wiring circuit replacement (GMTAC Case #XXX). Again requested internal inspection; again declined. Service tech said GM engineering was dictating repairs and I'd "just need to drive it until it fails again." 7/20/26 - 5TH FAILURE: XXX near mile marker 24 (Kalama/Woo
The vehicle experiences a sudden, violent drop into "limp mode" during active traffic acceleration. The internal Output Shaft Speed Sensor completely drops its signal, causing the vehicle to rapidly lose speed in active traffic lanes, creating an immediate and severe rear-end collision hazard.Diagnostic Evidence:Dealership (Crews Chevrolet) officially scanned the vehicle and documented history codes DTC P0722 (Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal) and DTC P0700. The dealership technician verified that the external wiring harness is fully intact, isolating the failure strictly to the internal transmission sensor.Manufacturer Actions:General Motors Corporate (Case thread::oxEmaLlrKKms4NDj0d9wJ0w::) is actively refusing to authorize the dealership to drop the transmission pan to replace this failing component under the active Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty. They are citing the "intermittent" nature of the safety hazard as a reason to deny diagnostics, forcing me to either operate an unsafe vehicle or leave it parked.
The internal transmission Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS) and its associated internal circuit/lead frame assembly failed. The vehicle is fully intact, operational, and available for inspection upon request. When the Output Shaft Speed Sensor intermittently loses its signal (dropping to 0 RPM while the vehicle is stopped at red lights or in traffic), it forces the vehicle into an immediate electronic "limp mode." Upon pressing the gas pedal to accelerate, the transmission violently slams into gear with massive mechanical force. This sudden, unpredictable jerking and hesitation while accelerating into active traffic creates an immediate risk of being rear-ended, losing traction, or losing control of the heavy vehicle in an intersection. The problem was officially confirmed via a diagnostic computer scan by an authorized GM dealership (Crews Chevrolet), which pulled and documented history codes P0722 (Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal) and P0700 (Transmission Control System Malfunction Warning). However, the dealership declined physical teardown or sensor replacement because the electronic failure is intermittent and could not be replicated during a brief technician test drive. Yes. The vehicle's external wiring harness was physically inspected by an authorized General Motors dealership technician, who confirmed the external wiring passed inspection. This officially isolates the intermittent electrical drop to an internal transmission component failure. It has not been
While traveling at night on the highway at excess of 70mph the engine in my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 6.2L L87 experienced a sudden, complete mechanical failure and loss of propulsion while driving. There were no warning lights, sounds or any other indication the motor would instantly stop working. This created an immediate crash hazard for me, my children and my dog. The vehicle is completely inoperable and I paid $125 to have it towed home. Upon talking to the dealership service ce manager they are refusing to inspect/replace my engine under Safety Recall N252494001. The same dealer is also requiring a large diagnostic fee prior to looking at the vehicle and has stated they will require additional fees as needed. They also refused to provide a loaner vehicle.
An internal transmission Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS) failure causes the vehicle to enter "limp mode" and shift violently, creating a risk of rear-end collisions or loss of control, according to the report. A GM dealer confirmed diagnostic codes P0722 and P0700, isolating the issue to an internal component after an inspection of the external wiring harness.
Intermittent knock on start up. Goes away within 10-15 seconds of continuous run. Same noise would also reoccur when towing a load.
Vehicle's replacement motor from GM recall (2nd motor) failed at 6200 miles. Rear tires briefly lock up causing slight swerving before the system shifted to "N"eutral. Upon restart, starter was unable to crank over seized engine. DTC confirmed P0016 crank shaft position out of alignment.
We purchased our 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 in XXX, it was discovered in the purchase process that the vehicle had an active recall on the engine which was pending a "fix." This was completely downplayed by the dealership as a minor issue that would be addressed. We waited several weeks for the "fix," which was essentially a change in the oil viscosity. On XXX, our [XXX] son, was out of town, driving the vehicle, which suddenly lost all power on the highway leaving him completely stranded. The vehicle would not turn over at all or even shift into neutral. There were no warning signs, no sensors activated, in fact, the Chevy App showed (and still shows) the vehicle as "everything looks good" "no diagnostic issues!" We had the vehicle towed back to our hometown/dealership (Missoula, Chevrolet in Missoula, MT), where it has now been determined, the engine completely seized up/failed, the original "fix" was not adequate, and we are now waiting for a new engine to be put into the vehicle! After reading about other vehicle owners experiences, I am quite skeptical of the new engine as there have been multiple experiences where the new engines had the same issue. This recall is impacting the safety of drivers, most concerning was our [XXX] left stranded in a rural area with very spotty cell service, and the vehicle would not even shift to neutral to get it to a safer area, this needs to be addresses as soon as possible to prevent others from being put into this situation. Truck stutters and idles terrible. Vehicle warning light keeps saying, reduce acceleration and drive safely. Two years ago an injector went bad, and it was fixed. 6 months ago, we had it in the shop, of course still under the 60k mile warranty. Said it was fixed, it wasn’t. Just had it back there, and they replaced the the torque converter. Shaking stopped for a month. Now it is even worse. Believe it is faulty injectors. Sadly, we’re not passed the 60k warranty period and feel unsafe driving our truck which we need every single day. Truck is nearly paid off and feel like we got jipped as this truck continues to have problems after problems
Truck continues to shutter after having the torque converter replaced and the 2nd injector replaced. Been in the shop several times over the last few years, and still giving warnings on the dash saying, reduce acceleration drive safely. Feel like we just got a terrible vehicle. Almost paid off, and it’s just unreliable. Sadly we need this truck every single day, and the local dealerships have now pushed the problem out so far that we’re passed out 60k warranty period.
I was driving on the freeway at 70 mph and my engine totally froze which made my car die and almost caused a huge accident right in the middle of the freeway. Then I had to push it off to 12 mile road gas station in the middle of oncoming traffic. My engine seized and it has been in the dealership since June 3. It is now July 4 2026th so 31 days and I still haven’t even found out if it’s my engine or not they haven’t really told me anything.
I believe My onstar control module needs to be replaced after trying every option with them over the phone “resets and full battery unplugged reset” this is a major concern for me on the safety aspect of onstars main selling point of instant reports of accidents and is in my mind a major issue. I do not believe I should be on the hook for a $700-1500 part that failed with only 59000 miles.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, there was a clunking sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that on other occasions, while driving 65 MPH and above, the vehicle drove over a bump in the road, and the rear of the vehicle lost control and drifted into another lane. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the leaf spring pads needed to be replaced, and the rust protection was the cause of the leaf spring bushings cracking and separating. The vehicle was not repaired yet. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered to cover a portion of the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
2022 SILVERADO ZR2 on second set of headlights due to extreme moisture inside of headlights and at night becomes a saftey issue due to the water distorting the beam of headlights. The headlights in it now are a year old
1)The truck experiences an intermittent but complete failure of the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor circuit and multiple chaffing points of the vehicle wiring harness. This issue is a documented manufacturing and electrical defect covered under General Motors Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) #24-NA-012. Yes, the truck is available for inspection. 2)This issue has happened to me on five occasions where I was traveling over 50 MPH and the vehicle violently jerked with my wife and children in the truck with me. This defect poses an immediate, severe safety hazard due to unpredictable, sudden engine/transmission jerk while operating at highway speeds. My main priority is my family! This failure compromises my ability to safely maneuver, accelerate, or steer the heavy-duty vehicle out of active lanes of traffic, dramatically increasing the risk of a high-speed rear-end collision or crash. 3) The problem has been reproduced by Rick Hendrick Chevrolet Norfolk and R.K. Chevrolet Virginia Beach. There are service invoices confirming these reproducible jerks and subsequent engine codes thrown. 4) No, I brought this up to General Motors as a safety issue but they have brushed off my concerns. 5) The second time I had the violent jerk I had a message appear on my DTC that stated "174 mi Until 65 MPH Max Speed and Service Emission System See Owner's Manual" that was on 2/21/2026. Extra Note: The vehicle sat disabled at a dealership service center for 21 cumulative days during the initial
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, several unknown warning lights were flashing. There was an abnormal ticking sound coming from the vehicle before the tailgate opened independently. The contact stated that while attempting to close the tailgate, the tailgate failed to latch securely. The contact stated that the vehicle was unoccupied and turned off when the failure occurred. The dealer was made aware of the failure, and the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall related to the failure. The contact stated that the failure was a persistent failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
My company purchased a new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado RST from Bomnin Chevrolet Manassas in December 2022. The vehicle has been properly maintained according to GM’s recommended maintenance schedule, including routine oil changes and tire rotations. On February 10, 2025, the truck began shaking and repeatedly shutting off. Bomnin Chevrolet diagnosed a failed fuel injector and completed the repair. No loaner vehicle was available, requiring me to use Uber transportation until the vehicle was returned on February 12, 2025. On May 19, 2025, the truck again shut off multiple times while traveling approximately 45 mph. The vehicle was returned to Bomnin Chevrolet, where it remained for three days. No loaner vehicle was available, forcing me to rent a vehicle from Enterprise. The dealership ultimately stated it could not diagnose the problem and advised that the failure would have to occur again before it could be repaired. The vehicle was returned on May 22, 2025. On June 18, 2026, the engine shut off while driving and would not restart. The vehicle was towed to Bomnin Chevrolet. After several days, the dealership advised that the engine had suffered catastrophic failure due to a lifter issue and required complete replacement. GM approved the warranty repair; however, the replacement engine is on national backorder. No loaner truck was available. The dealership offered only a $44-per-day rental reimbursement, which is not comparable to the business use of a full-size pickup truck. A
The power-unlatching tailgate drops open unexpectedly. Opened on freeway at 75mph. Known saftey recall however my VIN isn't listed as an affected vehicle
2022 Silverado with 6.2 l87 engine was taken into a Chevy dealership to have recall check on engine. Pico scope was used to inspect engine and no issues found. Oil was upgraded and oil cap replaced. A week later traveling many hours from home the engine suffered catastrophic failure and has now been at a dealership for the last seven weeks waiting for a replacement. There is no eta for a replacement.
On June 7th, 2026, I pulled into my driveway, and put the truck in park (did not set the parking brake, but left it running). I walked, approximately 25 feet up my driveway, towards my garage, to retrieve my garbage can, to bring it to the road. About the time i got to my garbage can, my truck proceded to roll towards me, as i walked back towards the road. I then noticed it rolling, let go of my garbage can, ran to the truck, jumped in it, hit the brakes, and i had to shift the truck back in gear, then back in park. By that time, it had already struck the support pole to my temporary car port, destroyed it, and caused a small amount of damage to the front fender of my truck (small dent, and some scratches in the front plastic). I know i did not leave it in drive, as i had to shift it into gear, then back into park, as well as the fact, that it stayed still, as i walked normally, 25 feet up the driveway. I tested the truck, after the fact. It starts rolling immediately after taking your foot off the brake, from the same spot. On a side note, my truck had just received an update download, 2 days prior to the incident. There were no warning lights. Luckily, my safety, was the only one at risk. I have not had it inspected, and it has not happened again, since. I did contact General Motors, immediately, but got no response to my email. I do have a short security video, starting when i retrieved my garbage can, to the moment the truck struck the pole.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
