I've had continued issues with components that are electrical . The interior electrical items go wonky, radio touch screen will blink back and forth between two screens for several minutes. Sometimes the sir and radio will just turn on with no key, this is random. It will also turn on off then on again after removing key. The ac has begun to randomly stop working(, blowing cold or at sufficient correct speed) all these occurrences are random, have been checked, unable to duplicate or correct. Bigger more serious issues . The steering and loss of power and hesitation in transmission. My steering went horribly bad. It was replaced and it's still bad and the power module in new unit is bad.. again waiting for s new tech and pinion. (It's been ridiculous with the strike) the steering for several months has been extremely sloppy causing the truck to wander and it's very unsafe. Over the last couple months there's a hesitation when stepping on the gas. As well as a loss in power while driving and far too much gas is required to get it going. The truck purrs when idling but it's losing power. I've stayed on top of the maintenance.. I've had everything checked. These electrical issues have become more than annoying. They are now unsafe, becoming very expensive and have resulted in my having to rent a vehicle. I see there have been many complaints over steering, transmission and electrical. It's time to do something about these unsafe issues

MY PURGE PUMP HAS GONE OUT 3 TIMES. I DO NOT OVERFILL MY TANK. THEY HAVE ALSO STATED IT IS DUE TO NO LID ON THE GAS TANK BUT THIS TRUCK IS DESIGNED WITHOUT A LID FOR THE TANK. THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HAS NOW GONE BAD PER THE DEALERSHIP. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 121000 MILES ON IT. I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THESE KINDS OF PROBLEMS. I WANTED TO REPORT THESE SINCE THE TRUCK IS NOT THAT OLD SO THIS MAY BE AN ISSUE WITH OTHERS. SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK IT HAS JUMPED AT TAKE OFF AND NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN THIS. THE DEALER SHIP ALSO GIVE DIFFERENT ANSWERS FOR THINGS AND DOES NOT SEEM TO KNOW WHAT COULD BE WRONG.

Vehicle DIC displays a low oil pressure warning and zero oil pressure repeatedly. Oil pressure returns to normal shortly thereafter. Vehicle also displays many other warnings and cautions intermittently.
Transmission slams down into gear when downshifting causing the truck to jerk. My concern is controlling the truck during the violent downshifting.
While driving the vehicle on 27 September 2023 the check engine/transmission light came on, and the vehicle down shifted and loss the ability to accelerate, started to drive rough causing a safety hazard in traffic. Took the vehicle to the dealership Southern (formerly Hall) Chevrolet Chesapeake, VA where purchased because I have an extended warranty. Diagnostic was performed, which idendified codes P0776, P0717, P0700. Technician states vehicle is not driveable and needs a new transmission. The vehicle is a 2019 Siverado 1500 LTZ Z71 Crew Cab with approximately 90,290+ miles.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that after a visual inspection, he became aware that there was extensive rust throughout the sub frame of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that there was not enough damage to warrant a repair of the sub frame. The vehicle was not repaired. Transmission started slipping and shuddering on vehicle with only 72,000 miles. Took to the dealer and they diagnosed the transmission fluid and torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle experienced harsh shifting since new and is a safety issue due to delayed speed, slipping, and hard shifts. There is a class action lawsuit for this 8 speed transmission and GM refuses to fix it. I paid $3,000 out of pocket to have this fixed even though it’s a known. Issue.
When started vehicle, ECS warning came on dash, slippery drive icon came on dash & Service Power Steering, Drive With Care came on dash. Was unable to steer vehicle as no power steering. Turned off vehicle, checked fluid levels, everything full & no leaks under vehicle. Started vehicle & no warnings and no issue, was able to drive home. Has under 25k miles, serviced regularly & has all original tires/parts from dealer when purchased. I'm the only owner of this vehicle. Have called dealership that does my service & no call back yet regarding this issue. Have not had this issue happen but this one time so far with no prior warning. Anything with steering issues could pose a hazard for the driver & is unsafe. No recalls have been sent out for this either.
Front driver ( PJB9 C21V 0619 ) and passenger ( PJB9 C21V 0419 ) tires are wearing uneven with correct alignment. Severe feathering, rought riding, and loud road noise.
While accelerating vehicle has a hitch and/or grinding sound like the transmission is slipping and/or can’t get in gear.
Transmission will occasionally shift hard, “buck”, jerk and shake the vehicle. Problems also encountered when shifting from reverse to drive, when completely stopped, the vehicle will jerk and shake.
Car seems to be having Same issue it was recalled for previously. It powers on but once pushed the start button it does not start it makes a clicking sound and gives a code it was previously recalled for
I first noticed jerking in my steering two days later the power assist failed. It was almost impossible to steer the vehicle. Luckily I was just leaving my drive. Next time I was in the vehicle the power assist for the steering worked fine, went online and found a video that makes the repair was a body to frame ground strap. This braided copper ground strap from frame to body is located right behind the passengers front wheel. It is subject to salt and corrosion. My vehicle only has 40,000 miles on it and I do have a picture of the failure cost me $10 to repair it shame on GM for putting this critical ground just behind the front tire exposed to salt and corrosion
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while the vehicle was shifted into park(P), the transmission erroneously jumped into reverse(R). Additionally, while driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle shimmied. The vehicle also unintendedly downshifted. The vehicle failed to accelerate at above 40 MPH. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the torque convertor and drive shaft needed to be replaced. The drive shaft was replaced but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Balise Chevrolet Buick GMC (440 Hall of Fame Ave, Springfield, MA 01105 (413) 233-4668) where it was diagnosed and determined that the tires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer and informed provided warranty information. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
Vehicle experiences a vibration or 'shudder' when accelerating and when maintaining a constant speed. The shudder is coming from the transmission. There could be a safety concern should the transmission fail during operation. The dealer has confirmed the problem and performed a fluid flush. However, the problem remains. No warning lights.
When pulling off or slowing down, there's hesitation, jerking, and kicking or slamming going in or out of gear. Was passing a vehicle one day and it started going, then lost acceleration. I put it to the floor, still no acceleration. My Abs/Traction light came on, the rear end started like bouncing, or something with traction. As I pulled over, the abs/traction light went off. A few times we complained about it, they looked at it, but said they couldn't find nothing wrong with it. It's still happening and it is dangerous. I have a 17 yr old Autistic son, I drive him everyday to school, almost 4 hrs a day. We bought the truck cause we needed something reliable. But now that our warranty is up we can't afford to get it fixed. They made sure to let us know about our warranty was out. But at the time they looked at it, we had warranty. But when it came to get it looked at it would take days, and we needed a rental but they never had one, so we would have to wait till they had an opening. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000. The VIN was unavailable.
The transmission totally failed on my 2019 Chevy Trail Boss Z71 at 72115 Miles. It failed while on the freeway. I paid to tow it to Atlas Transmission. I paid $4536 cash for a total rebuild. After it was fixed it started to fail again because they used rebuilt GM parts. I Traded the truck in to buy a Dodge Ram.
There is a vibration that is randomly felt. Over the last year I have replaced struts shocks control arm control arm bushings sway bar link sway bar link bushings tires twice and the vibration just keeps increasing to the point it's doing it now when I turn or take bends in the highway. There is now a flat spot in a tire feel when going it slower speeds to be added to the vibration that happens later on obviously related. This is either from my understanding going to be axle or driveshaft it's going to get looked at today since there's nothing left underneath to repair. This has ruined a pair tires I bought last year for $1,500 in September and probably well on its way to ruining the tires that I've just put on last week for $2,400. There is a hesitation a lack of response and a vibration. As far as the electrical goes it makes this very weird buzzing sound very randomly it's only happened about four times it's loud and it can't be explained. Also sometimes the radio and the AC just turns on and there's no key in the car and I've had the door open for a few minutes. Sometimes after turning it off he'll turn everything off but turn it all back on again no key in. Sometimes I can turn the stereo off and it makes a whistling buzzing sound and it's not even on. As far as any light indicators on the dash for any of this no never had a one. I have completely taken care of this vehicle with the transmission flush and will changes and everything that it's supposed to have and I put a
Not really a safety concern but the backup camera worked for about a year, then got foggy during wet weather and completely useless in winter here in Anchorage, it was still foggy the following summer and then it went completely off and the following message appeared on the screen: service rear vision system. Of course it’s out of warranty now. I just think they should last more than a year or two in fact I’m still paying for my truck and a good feature that is really unimpressive. Thanks for your time.
Loss of power/misfire on cylinder 6 Diagnosis is cam/lifters. 8/4/2023 120k miles. Shift to park warning at 60,000 miles. continues. Max speed held to 65mph due to abs system???? for 10 minutes at approximately 90k miles. Park assist failure (complete) at approximately 80k miles.
GEAR SLAMMING INTO LOW GEAR FROM DRIVE, JERKS, WILL NOT COME OUT OF LOW GEAR. WARMING LAMP COMES ON. HAPPENED 3 TIMES WITHIN 3 MONTHS.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the vehicle failed to exceed 43 MPH. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated, with the "Service ESC", "Service ABS", "Service Traction Control" and "Service Brakes" messages displayed. While driving home from church the vehicle suddenly lost power steering when making a right hand turn. I had to go into the opposite lane to make the turn. Fortunately there were no other vehicles in the other lane and I was not far from home . There were no warning lights displayed during the incident. When restarted the truck the same day the power steering was working again. The the next day I started to drive out of my drive way and I finally got a message on my dash that said "Service power steering no assist soon". I called to have it service, but cannot get for 2 weeks. I called chevy customer service to inform them of the incident. They suggested having it serviced by a chevy dealership.
Engine failure at 86370 miles while driving down the highway. Towed to Sullivan Tire, mechanic found 2 bad cylinders and the lifters had destroyed the cam, requiring a total engine replacement. This mechanical failure of the engine was sudden and unexpected, placing myself, my children, and other drivers at risk of injury on a very busy highway (MA-24). Discussing this with the mechanic (Sullivan Tire), this malfunction has been confirmed by a GMC certified dealer and service shop (McLaughlin Chevrolet) that there are several other Chevrolet/GMC vehicles that GMC technicians and third-party technicians that are reporting have had the same mechanical failure in the engine. I am unaware if this has been inspected by the manufacturer. It has only been inspected by third-party technicians at Sullivan Tire in Bridgewater, MA. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.
Transmission failure at ~90700 miles. Transmission failed while driving home from work on US-95 on 26 July 2023, placing myself and other drivers at risk of accident and injury due to vehicle unable to shift gears at higher speeds. This problem was confirmed by Sullivan Tire mechanics, who also spoke with mechanics at McLaughlin Chevrolet, who have stated that they have received vehicles for repair and replacement for the same mechanical failure. I am currently waiting on insurance to inspect this issue. The malfunction indicator light (MIL) did come on the information center at the same time the problem appeared.
Bridgestones Alezna A/S 02 275 / 60 R 20 I was driving on the highway 17 on the far left lane when the tire suddenly blew out and we had to pull over, the entire sidewall of the was blown out we had a spare and a Jack so we were able to change the tire
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power with the engine misfiring. The messages "Service Parking Brake" and "Service ESC" were displayed. The check engine warning light was also illuminated. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that cylinder #5 lifters had collapsed. The dealer informed the contact that the cylinder lifters needed to be replaced. Additionally, the camshaft would be replaced as necessary. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
Vehicle started shuttering then almost slamming from gears and eventually gave out at 97k - Vehicle is still in the shop right now, as I have no other vehicle
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and test driven. The contact was informed that the cam shaft and lifters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the oil pressure sensor warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed that there were metal shavings inside the engine. The mechanic informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
Rear window leak The cracks can be in the left and/or right side of the rear sliding window plastic upper rail glass guide which is covered by the roof rear spoiler. Examples of a left (1), then right side (2) visual crack (with the spoiler removed) are shown in the graphics above.
Service Trailer Brake warning flashed then suddenly lost power steering which nearly caused a crash. Vehicle was taken to dealership and a corroded Grounding Strap caused the complete loss of the electrical power steering system.
The vehicle started jumping when switching gears or when accelerating from a stop. The drive shaft ended up separating from the transfer case, lost 3rd gear in the transmission, and blew the 8th cylinder in the motor. I am seeing that this is a common issue with the year, make, and model. Yet not all that were affected were actually included in the recall from 2020. We luckily were not in an accident from this incident however, this has cost us well over $10,000 in repairs. This issue needs to be addressed and GM needs to fix this problem. This could cause an accident.
Vehicle is in the shop getting repaired under warranty for a defective transmission valve body. Chevrolet is not able to get the part and it has been two weeks. Almost had an accident on trying to come to a stop and the transmission failed.
The transmission jerks when shifting or just driving as you’re accelerating and as you’re at cruising speed, the transmission has a shutter that creates a vibration through the truck. My safety was put at risk as I did not know if the transmission was gonna fail as bad as the truck was shaking. The dealer reproduced the same problems that I was having. Said the fix was to change out transmission oil with the new transmission oil. Had to pay for a flush and filter at 56,000 miles. There were no warning lights coming on for the vehicle. Just the shattering of the transmission.
The wiring harness of the vehicle was placed too close to the frame and began wearing the wires down until they broke. Once this happened, the vehicle turned off while driving and would not restart for a few minutes. The vehicle would turn off repeatedly every few minutes leaving me stranded in the middle of the street until I could get the truck to turn off and restart. There was no warning on when the engine would shut off, it just happened randomly while driving and while in park.
The pickup shifts violently in and out of overdrive and than into second and than overdrive all while driving down the road at 55 mph and the rear end locks the tires up some times and the whole truck vibrates really and this power Tran problem is getting worse everyone I drive it and it's not safe to have any passengers or my kids in it anymore and it feels like the transmission is going to disintegrate at any moment because and if it does the transmission is going to lock up and than its going to cause a car accident ..PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THIS TRUCK CAUSES A ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM ..IM JUST THINKING ABOUT MY KIDS SAFETY AND OTHER FAMILIES SAFETY ON THE ROAD ...FROM A CONCERN PARENT ..
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while the transmission was shifted into park(P), the contact turned off the vehicle; however, the instrument panel and radio remained operational. The contact restarted and then turned off the vehicle a second time to correct the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
Started the truck and we have multiple service errors on the screen Service ESC Service 4wd drive Steering assist is reduced
While traveling at a high rate of speed one of the Active fuel management lifters failed. This caused a misfire in one cylinder also damaging the cam shaft. The engine was stuttering and running very poorly at higher speed. Luckily it did not cause a complete engine failure and I was able to safely exit the highway and make it to a garage. The repairs totaled over $5900. This is a known problem with the AFM system and continues to be ignored by GM. Under different circumstances this could be potentially a very dangerous situation.
My 8 speed transmission jumps out of gear randomly. Sometimes when I'm trying to pass on a 2 lane road at which time I am forced to hit the brakes and get back in line behind the vehicle I was trying to pass. Or after have stopped at a stop light or stop sign and I'm attempting to make a turn. At which time it will sometimes jump out of gear causing me to be stuck in front of oncoming traffic. It's getting worse and the GM dealer can't do anything about it.
So my Silverado is having the same issues as many other Silverado owners. I originally had the vehicle in for service on a transmission issue, which is also another problem these vehicles are having. As for the engine issue I have experienced the vehicle stalling out after running rough, primarily after the vehicle has been running for a while. In addition, there are times when I am driving at highway speeds and the vehicle seems to shudder and shake. I thought OK maybe it's the wheel balance or alignment so I took it in for the wheel balance and the alignment and it still is doing the same thing. So at this point I had the spark plugs, wires and coil packs replaced. Still having the same issue. In addition to this I had the vehicle in for first time transmission hard shifting at around 20k miles. The technician took the vehicle for a drive and stated that there was an issue and that the computer reset should eliminate the problem. It didn't. So I dealt with this multiple times, bringing the vehicle to service for diagnosis and even filing a claim with GM. The vehicle is still experiencing these problems with the hard shifting. I had the recommended maintenance performed on the vehicle which included fluid replacement without a resolution to the issue. I have completely lost confidence in the GM products and their service technicians as they've been unable to repair the vehicle to proper running order. This will be my last GM product, and that says a lot coming from a GM fami
Currently own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Texas Edition Z-71. Transmission continues to hard shift / lunge in forward and reverse. The transmission has popped so hard, on multiple occasions that I was convinced that someone had hit me from behind and had to pull over. The downshift is occasionally so hard that it that you jerk forward out of the seat. In October of 2022 the downshift at 15 mph made me lose control of my truck and utility trailer, sliding me into a small tree causing over two thousand dollars in damages. The suspension is also extremely shaky and any rough terrain makes the vehicle uncontrollable even at low speeds. I have almost had 3 additional accidents because of loss of control in rain and snow. The suspension is also noisy when you first drive with a grinding / rubbing sound. Vehicle has been in for service for these issues on more than one occasion and I have been told they cannot find anything wrong. I have had a transmission code in the past that eventually turned off. A quick internet search shows these all to be known issues and Chevrolet refuses to address of repair these major safety issues.
My transmission is always shifting hard and shuddering intermittently and is going in for inspection. Shifting hard could cause a problem for the driver it is very distracting. Yes, independent service center. No. No warning lamps came up and it has been going on just under a year now

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
