2023 Braun Ram Promaster

Defect. Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Ram ProMaster vehicles. The installed window may have the wrong type of glass for an emergency exit. As such, these vehicles fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."

Risk. A noncompliant emergency exit can increase the risk of ejection and injury during a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the window, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by May 26, 2026. Owners will receive another notice once remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Braun's customer service at 1-800-488-0359.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Ram ProMaster vehicles. A software error in the security gateway module may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the security gateway module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 12, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 40C.

Intermitent loss of electronic power steering. Dealer Service Tech says it is water intrusion into the steering rack. Part needs replacement. Dash warning at time of failure only once. I have heard from other owners this is a common problem.

Followup of Case # 11612576 filed 10/04/24. The issue of our UConnect system faulting out has never been resolved after much troubleshooting by the dealership. The system continues to fault out which disables the Automatic Emergency Braking system and the Emergency SOS systems also. This system faults out continually while driving. The safety features are disabled more than enabled according to the indicator lights on the display. My concern is that it disables the safety feature but question if it can also activate the braking when it shouldn't which could cause very erratic and unsafe event.
