Defect. ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES AND SCOOTERS, THE REAR BRAKE SHOE MATERIAL COULD SEPARATE DUE TO IMPROPER ADHESIVE CURING.

Risk. IF SUCH SEPARATION OCCURS DURING OPERATION, BRAKING ABILITY WITH THE REAR WHEEL WILL BE REDUCED OR LOST, WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH.

Remedy. DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE REAR BRAKE SHOES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 8, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT YAMAHA AT 1-800-889-2624.

WHILE DRIVING MOTORCYCLE AT NIGHT WITH HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM THERE WAS POOR VISIBILITY, AND HAD TO SLOW MOTORCYCLE DOWN TO 30-40 MPH. CONSUMER TRIED DRIVING WITH THE HIGH BEAMS, AND THEY WERE TOO BRIGHT AND INTERFERED WITH OTHER DRIVERS. HAS NOT TAKEN VEHICLE TO THE DEALER.*AK THE LOW BEAMS ILLUMINATE EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE ROAD DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. *NM
