Defect. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CLASS 8 HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS. THE AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL VALVE SUPPLY LINE WAS NOT PLUMBED THROUGH AN AIR PRESSURE PROTECTION VALVE. IN THE EVENT OF A FAILURE, THERE WOULD BE LOSS OF AIR PRESSURE IN THE 'B' SYSTEM AIR RESERVOIR THAT SUPPLIES AIR PRESSURE FOR THE FRONT STEER AXLE BRAKES.

Risk. THIS CONDITION WOULD RESULT IN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCES.

Remedy. DEALERS WILL INSTALL THE NECESSARY AIR PRESSURE PROTECTION VALVE.

Defect. THE SAFETY BELT RETRACTOR DESIGNED FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CABIN WAS INSTALLED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE RETRACTOR WAS INSTALLED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.

Risk. THE INCORRECT EMERGENCY LOCKING SAFETY BELT RETRACTORWOULD NOT FUNCTION ADEQUATELY IN THE EVENT OF A SUDDEN STOP OR ACCIDENT, ANDSEAT OCCUPANTS WOULD FACE AN INCREASED RISK OF INJURY.

Remedy. INSTALL NEW, CORRECT RETRACTORS AS NEEDED.
