I AM A CPST-I AND THE COORDINATOR FOR A BI-COUNTY SAFE KIDS COALITION. A LOCAL PARENT BROUGHT ME AN URBINI SONTI CAR SEAT WITH A BROKEN BASE. SHE STATED THAT THE BASE BROKEN WHILE TRYING TO ADJUST THE RECLINE ANGLE. I HAVE PHOTOS OF THE BASE AND BOTH THE BASE AND CAR SEAT IN MY POSSESSION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A URBINI SAFETY SEAT , MODEL NUMBER: 25HA2Y-ELEU AND MANUFACTURED IN 2014/06/24. THE SAFETY SEAT WAS BEEN UTILIZED IN A 2015 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHEST CLIP UNBUCKLED INDEPENDENTLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE THE CHILD WAS IN THE SAFETY SEAT. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART WAS UNAVAILABLE.
