Defect. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: EMERGENCY EGRESS WINDOWS. THESE WINDOWS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE RELEASE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS 217, "BUS WINDOW RETENTION AND RELEASE."

Risk. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THESE WINDOWS MAY NOT OPEN PROPERLY WHICH COULD RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURIES TO AN OCCUPANT.

Remedy. TPI WILL PROVIDE THE PARTS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNERS OF THESE BUSES.
