I HAVE ENCOUNTERED MUCH CONFUSION SURROUNDING THE VERBIAGE ON THE TIRE RATING STICKER ON MY VEHICLE. I SUSPECT WEIGHT OF OCCUPANTS PLUS CARGO IS MEANT TO INCLUDE ALL WEIGHT APPLIED TO THE VEHICLE, INCLUDING HITCH WEIGHT. YET BOTH TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND ALSO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE, HAVE TOLD ME THAT 'CARGO' DOES NOT INCLUDE HITCH WEIGHT. CARGO IS UNDERSTOOD TO BE IN THE TRUCK AND NOT EXTERNAL TO THE TRUCK. NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own.
