Passenger seat constantly popping when braking or accelerating. You can also feel a large bag in the lower lumbar area. All very uncomfortable for what I thought would be the best car we have ever owned. Very disappointed in Toyota, as seat popping happened in 2025 models too
2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid complaints

I had just bought the car from the Dealer and was to drive it back home. I got about 30 miles from the Dealership and the check engine light came on. It stated malfunction in the awd system so now on two wheel drive then it stated start control malfunction and finally hybrid system malfunction. I returned it to the dealership and they said that the first diagnostic stated it was throwing high voltage. Looking on line when I got home I noticed the recall of many Toyota camrys for the loose bolt causing this issue and there is yet to be a fix for it. The manufacturer should take all those cars back so they cannot be sold and cause a risk till they can fix it. It makes a dealership look bad and puts innocent people at risk if they are not aware of the issue.
Driver seat feels very hot when driving. This I never experienced before with other car. AC is turned on even at low temperature but not even that beats the heat on the driver seat.
I bought this Camry and then my insurance notified me there was an open safety recall. When I saw there was a risk of fire, I took it straight to the Toyota dealership where it is now sitting with no remedy for the recall available. This recall started in December 2025 and it is now July 2026. I can’t even drive the new car I bought and am in a loaner from Toyota.
On [XXX], I purchased a brand-new vehicle 2026 Toyota Camry hybrid from Post Oak Toyota (located at 5800 Tinker Diagonal, Midwest City, OK 73110). The dealership delivered this vehicle to me with an open, active safety recall that had not been fixed. We discovered the recall June 20 2026 after setting up the new Toyota app. The dealership violated federal safety regulations by finalizing the sale and delivering a brand-new vehicle with an unaddressed factory safety recall. I was placed at unnecessary risk during the week and a half I operated the vehicle. Furthermore, I have been deprived of the use of my brand-new vehicle for the vast majority of my ownership period because the dealer sold a product they could not legally or safely allow me to keep driving. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this dealership non-compliance and delivery violation. the specific recall involves an improperly torqued bolt inside the inverter, which can cause sudden power loss or an increased risk of fire when the vehicle is running. the vehicle has been in the outside lot from July 3rd 2026 to present day so a total of 13 days. We have requested a buyback resolution because we no longer feel safe handling a vehicle that has started its lifecycle this way. Thank you for reading our statement. In an emergency stop on dry pavement, my braked did not operate in a straight line. The vehicle swerved. My statement is attached as Page 4 to an uploaded form supplied by the dealership abbreviated as "UB Interview Guide". You have my permission to inspect the vehicle which is in the possession of the Toyota of Santa Barbara dealership. Toyota of Santa Barbara has not to date inspected or repaired my vehicle. I am not aware that anyone has inspected the vehicle. I consider the problem to be one that could cause death or serious bodily injury if the vehicle is driven without repair. A red box appeared on my dashboard during the incident, but I had no time to read or process whatever message may have appeared. Please see my statement prepared within 24 hours of the incident.

I am filing this complaint because my 2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid has been under NHTSA Safety Recall 25V869 since December 16, 2025. As of July 2026, Toyota still has not provided a repair or remedy. It has been more than six months, and owners continue to drive vehicles affected by a safety recall without any available fix. I believe this delay is unreasonable and I request that NHTSA investigate why Toyota has not made a remedy available within a reasonable timeframe. I rely on this vehicle every day for work and school. It is concerning to know that my vehicle has an unresolved safety recall with no repair available after several months.

The driver seat has a popping, crunching noise and sensation near shoulder and mid section area. This is more pronounced when accelerating and braking. This will be causing discomfort and distraction while driving.
Brand new 2026 Camry is swaying left and right when driving on concrete roads at 40 mph and above. It was felt like I lost steering control; the whole car felt like it’s “floating” or weaving. Steering truly is difficult to control, specially on wet conditions. this Vehicle is equipped with factory 19” wheels with wide, low profile tires with low aspect ratio and short sidewalls; Bridgestone turanza tires 235/40/r19. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer saying this is known as tramlining. Vehicle was inspected by manufacturer several times. There’s no any warning lamps or messages or other symptoms of the problem. It appears that inappropriate tires were installed on this vehicle by manufacturer, which leads to a loss of steering control.
Toyota Camry driver seat issue. popping noise, crunching sounds, and a physical shifting sensation in the mid-back and shoulder areas. Very annoying and distracting when driving.
At certain times of the day ,the windshield becomes milky with feathery, spotted pattern obscuring my visibility while driving. At first, we thought it needed a proper cleaning. We now realize we have a defective windshield. It is called windshield delamination. The car was brought to Toyota of Coconut Creek. The service advisor, Wilford Charles was provided photo documentation of the windshield. If you put on the defogger or drive with windows up the spotting will disappear in about 5 minutes. The service advisor said they would NOT honor the windshield replacement unless they physically saw the incident happening. Then it would be 2 weeks until Toyota would come to inspect to say if they would honor the warranty and replace the windshield. Toyota is forcing me to have to pay for a new windshield and denying it is defective. Please advise. Thank you.

My intention was to proceed forward briefly, then shift into reverse to continue my planned route. Upon releasing my foot from the accelerator pedal in preparation for this maneuver, the vehicle unexpectedly and rapidly accelerated without any input from me. The rate and intensity of acceleration was unprecedented in my experience operating motor vehicles. I immediately applied pressure to the brake pedal in an attempt to stop the vehicle; however, the braking system was unresponsive and failed to slow or halt the vehicle's forward motion. Sheehy Toyota of Laurel sold me a vehicle that was on a stop sale for a serious defect recall. The dealership sold the car to me the same day the stop sale was lifted WITHOUT addressing the recall, and lied about them fixing it before it was purchased.

Camry was sitting at the dealership since the Dec 2025 recall for a loose inverter bolt. Talked to Toyota and dealership multiple times, throughout the process, and kept being told there was no remedy and that there would not be one for a long time. Got the run around from Toyota Brand Engagement repeatedly, with no assistance except to be told I could submit a Lemon Law claim, which they then said would take at least 60 days to review. Desperate to have a vehicle back without the limitations of a loaner, I tried to buy the loaner as a resolution since I was at least used to driving it after having it for multiple months. They said they would look into this, but then said it would actually be a very lengthy process to decommission it as a loaner first, so this was not helpful solution. Since there was still no remedy on the recall, the dealership found a used vehicle similar to the loaner, but when I talked to them about how it would work financially for them to buy the recalled car back, they said my recalled vehicle had depreciation value, so trading it in would mean a loss of several thousand dollars, even though it was a brand new 2026 vehicle that was only sitting on their lot for 6 months unused because of the recall. So a used vehicle a couple yrs older would cost MORE than the original price on the 2026 new vehicle because of the RECALL which STILL has no available remedy. The latest remedy info says it would be approx Sept 2026. Toyota took an excessive amount of tim
The vehicle’s front bumper under the passenger side keeps becoming loose with a large noticeable gap even after fixed by the dealership. Appears to be weak clips used by Toyota during the manufacturing process. Vehicle is new, purchased 1/2026 and this recurrent issue showed up at 1567 miles, vehicle has never been in an accident. Safety is at risk as in a matter of time I believe the bumper will fall off while the vehicle is in motion, presenting a danger to driver and other occupants, and a danger to other motorists. This issue seems to exist since previous 2025 models, Toyota appears not to care enough to provide a permanent fix.

My son was driving a 2026 Toyota Camry with approximately 2,000 miles when the wheel suddenly detached from the vehicle while traveling on the highway. The vehicle dropped onto the rotor and became difficult to control. Thankfully, he was able to safely get off the road and was not injured. No one outside of Toyota has serviced, repaired, or removed the wheel since the vehicle was purchased new. This was a serious safety incident that could have resulted in a catastrophic crash, severe injuries, or fatalities. We are requesting an investigation into the cause of this wheel separation and whether there may be a manufacturing or assembly defect.
I am reporting an issue with the driver seat in my 2026 Toyota Camry SE model. The seat exhibits abnormal movement, shifting, instability, and popping sensations in the seatback (lumper support) area during normal driving conditions, specifically while accelerating or coming to a stop. It is also more noticeable during warming climates than cooler climates. The issue feels like looseness or movement of internal seat components and creates a distraction and potential safety concern while operating the vehicle. It has become very uncomfortable to sit and drive the vehicle. It feels like if someone is kicking the seat from behind. I brought the vehicle to three different Toyota dealership for inspection. The dealership acknowledged the issue and opened a TAS (Technical Assistance System) case with Toyota Motor Corporation. An attempted repair and inspection were performed; however, the issue still persists. After researching online owner forums and discussions, I found multiple reports from other Toyota Camry owners describing similar driver seat problems, suggesting this may not be an isolated incident. The ongoing seat movement negatively affects driver confidence and comfort and may create a safety risk by distracting the driver or altering seating position while driving.
Year: 2026 Make: Toyota Model: Camry LE Hybrid VIN: [XXX] Mileage at Time of Discovery: Approximately 750 miles Date Purchased: Approximately 20 days before discovery (22nd May 2026) Tire Brand/Model: Goodyear Assurance RangeMax Tire DOT Number: 1M63P LF1R 1626 I purchased this Toyota Camry new approximately 20 days ago. The vehicle currently has approximately 750 miles on it. During car washing, I discovered visible bulges on all four tires. The tires are Goodyear Assurance RangeMax with DOT number 1M63P LF1R 1626. The bulges appear on each tire sidewall and raise concerns about a possible manufacturing defect or structural failure within the tires. The vehicle has not been involved in any accident, impact, pothole strike, or other event that would reasonably explain identical bulging on all four tires. I visited dealership and they confirmed it's manufacturing defects. Also, Goodyear service centre also confirmed it's manufacturing defects. Because tire sidewall bulges can indicate internal tire damage and increase the risk of tire failure, blowout, loss of vehicle control, crash, injury, or death, I believe this condition presents a significant safety concern. The fact that all four original-equipment tires exhibit similar bulging at very low mileage suggests the possibility of a defect affecting the tires or their manufacture. I am submitting this complaint so that NHTSA can investigate whether other consumers may be experiencing similar issues with Goodyear Assurance Ran

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle suddenly lost drive power and failed to accelerate as needed. The contact continued driving and the acceleration failure was suddenly self-corrected; however, the vehicle surged forward while accelerating. The cruise control intermittently failed to operate as needed. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available, even thought the manufacturer had estimated that parts would be available during the first quarter of 2026. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 1,300.
I am reporting an issue with the driver seat in my 2026 Toyota Camry Le purchased in January of 2026 The drivers seat exhibits abnormal movement, shifting, instability, and popping sensations in the seatback area during normal driving conditions such as stopping or getting in and out of car. It feels like the seat will fold in. The issue feels like looseness or movement of internal seat components may create a potential safety concern while operating the vehicle I have not yet briught the vehicle to a Toyota dealership for inspection. However after researching online owner forums and discussions, I found multiple reports from other Toyota Camry owners describing similar driver seat problems, suggesting this may not be an isolated incident. The ongoing seat movement negatively affects driver safety potentially. Owners in those forums have not reported a satisfactory fix or resolution in many cases.
The driver's seat produces a noticeable popping sensation against my back during acceleration, braking, and when driving over bumps. The issue appears to originate from the lumbar support assembly within the driver's seat. I have also observed that the condition occurs much more frequently in warmer temperatures. I brought the vehicle to the dealership for inspection; however, they were unable to duplicate the concern during my visit. Because they could not reproduce the issue, I was informed that no further investigation or repairs would be performed. This is particularly frustrating because the problem appears to be well documented among owners of 2025 and 2026 Toyota Camry vehicles, with numerous similar complaints reported through NHTSA filings, online owner forums, and social media discussions. I have already taken the car to my dealership twice, with no solution. The recurring popping sensation is distracting while driving and has the potential to divert the driver's attention from the road, creating a safety concern. I am also now experiencing back and hip pain.

Drivers seat has popping sensation on my back when accelerating, braking, and going over bumps. This issue appears to be coming from the lumbar assembly of the drivers seat. I've also noticed it is much more frequent when the weather is warmer (75 degrees +). I took the vehicle to the dealer and they were not able to duplicate the issue. Because they were not able to duplicate the issue I was told nothing could be done and that they would not investigate any further. Even though this seems to be a well known issue for the 2025 and 2026 Camry's as it appears many others have submitted similar complaints to the NHTSA, Reddit, etc. The service manager at the dealership even admitted Toyota was aware of this issue and supposedly installed the "fix" in my 2026 Camry at the factory. I have also reached out to Toyota Brand Engagement to voice my displeasure with the performance of the drivers seat, still waiting for a resolution from them. This poses a safety risk as is it is very distracting to the driver of the vehicle.
I purchased a new 2026 Toyota Camry XLE and have experienced a potentially defective driver seat lumbar support condition since delivery. The lumbar support remains excessively hard and protruding even when adjusted to the lowest setting. The condition causes significant lower back discomfort and pain during ordinary driving. The issue appears abnormal and may involve the lumbar mechanism, seat foam, or internal seat structure. The vehicle has very low mileage, and the condition has been present from the beginning of ownership. I contacted Toyota and the dealership, and the vehicle is scheduled for inspection. I am submitting this complaint because the seat condition may affect safe vehicle operation by causing driver discomfort, pain, and difficulty maintaining a normal driving position during extended use. I request investigation into whether this is a defect affecting the seat lumbar support system or seat assembly.
Saturday may 23 at night my car started showing a message that states “Braking Power Low Stop in a Safe Place See Owner's Manual” I took it to Toyota on Tuesday may 2026 they said it was fine and nothing was wrong even after I said that message kept appearing at least five times each time I was driving the vehicle since Saturday. After they checked it the problem got worse and now it appears 95% of the time I’m driving. Not just that but on may 27 at approximately 9:10 pm my check engine turned on and also system lady took turned on and secondary collision break malfunction turned on. Along side many other warning comes and go but the main ones that stay are the check engine and the braking power low one. I am worried because this all started happening whenever I accelerated even just a little bit and it could end up causing accidents.

Toyota is putting people who purchased their new vehicles at risk. They have my car sitting here with an extraordinarily dangerous recall which they promised to fix by march but they haven't & it is already nearly June. It literally says the car can blow up. The recall says there's a belt problem & it can blow up at certain speeds & it can be fatal. That is crazy. if they cant fix it then they should recall the entire car & give us our money back so we can buy something safe. This is insane already
Toyota Camry driver seat issue. popping noise, crunching sounds, and a physical shifting sensation in the mid-back and shoulder areas.
Clicking/ticking noise coming from the top of the B-pillar (driver’s side). consistent ticking or clicking sound that sounds like it’s coming from behind the trim near the seatbelt anchor or roofline area. It’s not just a little vibration — it’s a loud tick or click; not a vibration sound. it seems like it might be inside the B-pillar or at the headliner edge where it meets the pillar
Vehicle makes a squeaking noise from the driver front wheel at speeds between 0 - 5 mph. Toyota released a technical service bulletin T-SB-0031-26 to fix the issue. I had my vehicle serviced under the TSB. Toyota service indicated on the invoice "Driver front wheel bearing is coming apart and leaking grease causing noise. Replaced driver front wheel bearing". After a few hundred miles of driving, the squeaking noise from the driver front wheel at speeds between 0-5 mph has returned. My case is filed at the Toyota headquarters office under my name and file 260512000440. I have images, invoice and TSB, but they will not upload in the portal

Car makes a heavy humming noise when driving 30mph or more very loud Dealer couldn’t fix this issue Please help I Don’t feel safe when driving on higher speeds
I’m still driving a time bomb waiting for vehicle fire or accident. Was told first quarter of the year. Now, still no remedy. I purchase car brand new and weeks later received notice. Then I was told Toyota was informed not to sell and I just bought mine. All I’m told is to wait. If engine line comes on pull over and tow. That’s great while I’m driving my family.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
