Defect. Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling various 2003-2018 recreational vehicles, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. See a list of the affected trailer models at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V758-5764.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
Risk. In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy. Thor will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Thor customer service at 1-877-500-1020, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.

Remedy. TMC will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the wiper system to verify it is installed correctly, repairing or replacing the system as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on September 27, 2017. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000146. Filed Apr 25, 2013427 vehiclesThor Motor Coach
Defect. Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Challenger, Four Winds 5000, Hurricane, Chateau, Chateau Sport, and Windsport; model year 2013 Palazzo and Four Winds Siesta and model year 2014 Majestic motorhomes manufactured February 13, 2013, through April 09, 2013. If the awning installation sequence was not completely followed, the awning motor may unknowningly become damaged. A damaged motor may lead to an unfurling of the awning.
Risk. If motor damage occurs, it is possible that the awning can unfurl unexpectedly, either while the motorhome is at rest or while in transit, increasing the risk of personal injury or a vehicle crash.
Remedy. Thor Motor Coach will notify owners and Dometic staff will replace the affected motors with a design that is not subject to an out-of-sequence installation error. The recall began during May 2013. Owners may contact Thor at 1-877-855-2867 or Dometic at 1-888-447-0003 for more information. THE CORE ISSUE IS THAT THE PASSENGER WIPER BLADE WILL FLOP ALL THE WAY OVER AGAINST THE POST OF THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER BLADE CAUSING BOTH BLADES TO GET STUCK. I HAVE TO STOP AND GET OUT AND PHYSICALLY PULL THE WIPER BLADE UP WHILE THEY ARE RUNNING TO GET IT GOING AGAIN. THIS FIRST HAPPENED THE DAY I BROUGHT IT HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP. IT WAS RAINING VERY HARD WITH HEAVY GUSTS OF WIND, AND I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE WITH THE WIPERS ON AND IT SEEMS LIKE A GUST OF WIND CAUGHT THE PASSENGER SIDE WIPER AND PEGGED IT AGAINST THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER, CAUSING BOTH TO GET STUCK. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT FREE, BUT WITH THE WIND THAT HIGH IT KEPT DOING IT. WHEN I GOT HOME AND TURNED THE WIPERS ON TO INVESTIGATE, THEY WORKED FINE, SO I JUST ATTRIBUTED IT TO THE GUSTY CONDITIONS. HOWEVER, IT HAPPENED A FEW OTHER TIMES SINCE THEN WHILE DRIVING. THE LAST TIME I TRIED TO USE THE WIPERS WHILE SITTING STILL AND IT DID IT IMMEDIATELY. SO AT THIS POINT THE WIPERS ARE COMPLETELY USELESS.
No unusual pattern of severe incidents in the complaint record.
Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
Recall repairs are free for as long as the recall stands. Check whether a specific car still has open work at NHTSA's VIN lookup.
