NHTSA campaign 26V648000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Kalmar Solutions, LLC: Electrical System

Kalmar Solutions, LLC reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 5, 2026 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 16,127. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Kalmar Solutions, LLC (Kalmar) is recalling certain 2014-2026 Ottawa T2 4X2 and 2016-2026 T2 6X4 DOT/EPA terminal tractors. The printed circuit board (PCB) insulation may become damaged, resulting in a short circuit.

The risk

A short circuit increases the risk of a fire even when the vehicle is parked and the ignition is in the 'Off' position.

The remedy

Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until their vehicle is repaired. Kalmar will rewire the cabin power and add a 5A fuse to the PCB circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by December 4, 2026. Owners may contact Kalmar customer service at 1-888-229-6300, select option 4, then option 2.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 26V648000.
