Halcore Group, Inc.: Equipment › Emergency › Fire Supression
Halcore Group, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Aug 14, 2026 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 545. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Halcore Group, Inc. (Halcore) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Horton Type I, Type III, and Critical Care ambulances. The touchscreen display may stop responding to touch commands or fail to power on, preventing the activation of exterior emergency lights, as well as fire fighting and other emergency equipment.
The risk
A loss of exterior lights can reduce the visibility of the vehicle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Inoperative equipment can delay emergency response, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Weldon Division of Akron will update the firmware and repair the power line, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 5, 2026. Owners may contact Weldon customer service at 1-800-228-1161 or Halcore customer service at 1-800-447-0343.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 26V533000.
