NHTSA campaign 26V420000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Teko, Inc.: Forward Collision Avoidance › Warnings › External/Pedestrian Alert

Teko, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Jun 30, 2026 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 1,934. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Teko Inc (Teko) is recalling certain 2026 Triumph, Turbo, TurboLite, Trophy, and Trophy Plus vehicles. The acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS) may not have been installed, preventing the vehicle from making pedestrian warning sounds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles."

The risk

A vehicle that does not make a sound may fail to alert pedestrians of an approaching vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

The remedy

Teko will provide an AVAS kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 17, 2026. Owners may contact Teko Customer Care at [email protected].

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 26V420000.
