Storyteller Overland: Electrical System › Alternator/Generator/Regulator
Storyteller Overland reported this defect to federal regulators on Jun 16, 2026 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 82. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Storyteller Overland, LLC (Storyteller) is recalling certain 2024-2026 GXV Hilt vehicles. The secondary alternator pulley may fail, resulting in a loss of power brakes and power steering.
The risk
An unexpected loss of power brakes increases the distance required to stop. A loss of power steering increases the amount of effort needed to control the vehicle. Both situations may increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Storyteller will replace the secondary alternator, free of charge. Interim owner letters were mailed August 13, 2026. A second letter will be mailed when the free remedy is available. Owners may contact Storyteller customer service at 1-888-999-7442.
