NHTSA campaign 26V323000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Wabash National Corporation: Exterior Lighting

Wabash National Corporation reported this defect to federal regulators on May 20, 2026 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 721. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Wabash National Corporation (Wabash) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Transcraft Platform and 2024-2027 Wabash Platform trailers. The conspicuity tape may not have been installed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The risk

Missing conspicuity tape can reduce the visibility of the trailer to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Wabash will provide the conspicuity tape, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 17, 2026. Owners may contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 26V323000.
