Braun Industries, Inc.: Vehicle Speed Control › Cruise Control
Braun Industries, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 9, 2025 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 413. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Braun Industries, Inc. (Braun Ambulances) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Chief XL Type I, Express Plus Type I, Liberty Type I, RMT US Type I, and Select Chief XL Type I ambulances. The brake pedal switch may have been damaged, preventing the cruise control from disengaging when the brake is depressed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems" and 124, "Accelerator Control Systems."
The risk
Failure to turn off the cruise control may cause unexpected acceleration as the brake is released, increasing the risk of crash.
The remedy
Braun Ambulances will replace the brake switch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 27, 2025. Owners may contact Braun Ambulances' customer service at 1-877-344-9990. Braun Ambulances number for this recall is 2025-1.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 25V677000.
