NHTSA campaign 25V449000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Autocar, LLC: Service Brakes, Air › Supply › Reservoir/Tank

Autocar, LLC reported this defect to federal regulators on Jul 3, 2025 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 49. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2015-2022 ACTT (Xspotter) and ACX (Xpeditor) vehicles. The air tanks have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

The risk

Insufficient air volume can reduce brake function, extending the distance required to stop and increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will inspect and replace or add additional air tanks as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed November 2026. Owners will receive a second notice once remedy parts become available, anticipated September 2026. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's numbers for this recall are ACTT-2503 and ACX-2503.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 25V449000.
