Prevost Car (US) Inc.: Structure › Emergency › Escape/Egress/Exit

Prevost Car (US) Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Apr 14, 2025 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 15. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2025 Prevost H3-45 and X3-45 motorcoaches. The release mechanism on the emergency exit windows may be difficult to open in an emergency situation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

The risk

Emergency exits that are difficult to open can prevent or delay passengers from exiting during an emergency, increasing their risk of injury.

The remedy

Prevost will inspect and adjust the emergency exit windows as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 28, 2025. Owners may contact Prevost's customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR25-10.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 25V243000.
