Oshkosh Corporation: Back Over Prevention › Display Function
Oshkosh Corporation reported this defect to federal regulators on Apr 14, 2025 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 216. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Oshkosh Corporation (Oshkosh) is recalling certain 2025 Defense NGDV ICE 2WD, AWD, and BEV 2WD vehicles. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
The risk
A blank rearview camera display can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Oshkosh will inspect and replace the head units as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2025. Owners may contact Oshkosh customer service at 1-800-830-3554. Oshkosh's number for this recall is NGDV_TSB_036. Vehicles that were previously recalled under 24V-928 will need to be inspected and possibly have the head unit replaced again.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 25V224000.
