Nova Bus (US) Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Feb 17, 2025 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 2. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2006-2007 LFS transit buses. The buses may have been built with an incorrect number of emergency exits. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."
The risk
An insufficient number of emergency exits can prevent or delay passengers from exiting during an emergency, increasing their risk of injury.
The remedy
Nova Bus will replace some windows with emergency exit windows, free of charge. This is a Phased campaign. Phase 1 will include 1 bus. Nova Bus will notify owners on or about 12/12/2025. Phase 2 will include 1 bus. Nova Bus will notify owners on or about 2/16/2026. Owner notification letters were mailed December 12, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 866-870-2046. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5772.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 25V101000.
