Corp. Micro Bird, Inc.: Electrical System › Ignition › Interlock/Lockout
Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Nov 7, 2024 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 13. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2023 CT-Series vehicles equipped with a anti-vandal lock on the rear emergency door. The ignition interlock may allow the vehicle to start when the rear emergency door is locked after the key has been inserted in the ignition. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."
The risk
An emergency exit door that is locked can prevent or delay occupants from exiting the vehicle during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Dealers will repair the ignition interlock connection, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 30, 2024. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 24-112-IUC.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 24V842000.
