Orange EV: Equipment › Other › Owners/Service/Other Manual
Orange EV reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 24, 2024 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 1,334. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Orange EV (OEV) is recalling certain 2017-2024 T-Series and 2023-2024 e-TRIEVER terminal trucks. The Emergency Response Guide (ERG), operator, maintenance, and service manuals incorrectly state that the emergency stop button in the vehicle cab will shut off and lock out the high voltage system.
The risk
Incorrect lockout instructions can mislead the operator into thinking the high voltage system is shut down, increasing the risk of injury by electrical shock.
The remedy
OEV will provide corrected ERG, operator, and maintenance manuals and add additional warning labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 20, 2024. Owners may contact OEV customer service at 1-866-688-5223. OEV's number for this recall is 2024-SRC-01.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 24V800000.
