NHTSA campaign 24V631000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Endera Motors: Equipment › Other › Labels

Endera Motors reported this defect to federal regulators on Aug 22, 2024 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 158. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Endera Motors (Endera) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Endera school buses. The emergency exit label operating instructions lettering is too small and may be difficult to read. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

The risk

Emergency exit labels that are difficult to read can prevent or delay the use of the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.

The remedy

Endera will replace the emergency exit label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 11, 2024. Owners may contact Endera customer service at 419-523-3593.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 24V631000.
