Isuzu Motors Limited: Steering › Linkages › Tie Rod Assembly

Isuzu Motors Limited reported this defect to federal regulators on Jun 21, 2024 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 38. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Isuzu Motors Limited (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2025 FTR vehicles. The tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure.

The risk

Tie rod failure can cause a loss of vehicle steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will inspect and replace the tie rod and center link assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All affected vehicles are still within dealer inventory and therefore no owner notification letters will be mailed. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2402.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 24V467000.
