Braun Ambulances: Exterior Lighting › Lighting Control Module
Braun Ambulances reported this defect to federal regulators on Feb 8, 2024 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 32. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Braun Ambulances (Braun) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Chief XL Type I, Chief XL Type III, Express Plus Type I, Express Type III, and Liberty Type I vehicles. The high contact nodes may cause the module mounted turn signals, backup alarm, brake lights, and rearview camera to turn on intermittently or fail to activate.
The risk
Failure of vital visual systems reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the node and update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 26, 2024. Owners may contact Braun customer service at 419-232-7020. Braun's number for this recall is 2024-2.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 24V082000.
