Pierce Manufacturing: Electrical System › Wiring
Pierce Manufacturing reported this defect to federal regulators on Dec 7, 2023 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 314. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Arrow XT, Enforcer, and Velocity mid-mount tower trucks equipped with an aerial platform basket. The electrical connector to the aerial turntable wiring harness may not be properly secured, which can result in connector corrosion and affect the leveling ability of the platform basket.
The risk
An inability for the platform basket to maintain level can result in the basket tipping, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Pierce will replace the aerial turntable wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 14, 2023. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723. Pierce's number for this recall is 74B330.
