Off Grid Trailers: Equipment › Appliance › Oven/Stove/Cooktop
Off Grid Trailers reported this defect to federal regulators on Mar 2, 2023 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 150. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Off Grid Trailers (Off Grid) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Pando, 2020-2023 Expedition, and Switchback travel trailers, equipped with certain SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktops. The internal aluminum burner tubes that connect to the gas valves may fracture and cause a gas leak.
The risk
A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
The remedy
Dealers will install a regulator support bracket in unsold vehicles. The remedy for sold units include inspecting the burner tubes, and repair, as necessary, free of charge. Previously sold units will be inspected and replace the cooktop as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 14, 2023. Owners may contact Off Grid customer service at 1-780-616-2830.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 23V139000.
