NHTSA campaign 21V941000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Dennis Eagle Inc.: Electrical System › Instrument Cluster/Panel

Dennis Eagle Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Dec 6, 2021 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 22. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Dennis Eagle, Inc. (Dennis Eagle) is recalling certain 2017-2021 Elite and Proview vehicles. The instrument cluster warning light may falsely indicate that an exterior vehicle light is not illuminated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Control and Displays" and 125, "Warning Devices."

The risk

The false warning light could prevent the detection of an actual light failure, reducing visibility to other drivers and increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will update the instrument cluster software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 31, 2021. Owners may contact Dennis Eagle customer service at 1-813-440-8136. Dennis Eagle's number for this recall is FSI1472.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 21V941000.
