Schwarze Industries, Inc.: Equipment
Schwarze Industries, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 18, 2021 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 547. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Schwarze Industries, Inc. (Schwarze) is recalling certain 2012-2020 Avalanche M6TE, M6SE, and M6SE CNG street sweepers. The outside switch box that controls the position of the conveyor may activate unintentionally while the vehicle is running.
The risk
Unintentional activation of the switch box can advance the conveyor, presenting a crushing hazard between the conveyor and hopper, and increasing the risk of injury or death.
The remedy
Dealers will install a kit containing an outside switch guard and two crushing hazard warning decals, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 23, 2021. Owners may contact Schwarze's customer service at 1-800-879-7934.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 21V816000.
