Trail King Industries, Inc.: Steering › Linkages › Knuckle › Spindle › Arm
Trail King Industries, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Jul 20, 2021 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 83. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Trail King Industries, Inc. (Trail King) is recalling certain 2018-2020 TKOLB332NG-HH, TKOLB336NG, TKOLB336NG-HH, TKOLB434NG-HH, and TKOLB436NG-HH vehicles equipped with Dexter Smart Steer axles. The steering arm may detach from the steering knuckle during certain low-speed, high-side loading maneuvers.
The risk
A detached steering arm may cause a loss of steering control. In addition, attachment hardware may fall and become a road hazard. Both of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dexter Axle will inspect the steering arm and apply welds, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 4, 2021. Owners may contact Trail King's customer service at 1-800-843-3324 or Dexter Axle's customer service at 1-574-295-7888. Trail King's number for this recall is TK202103.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 21V541000.
