Lamborghini (Automobili Lamborghini): Back Over Prevention › Display Function

Lamborghini (Automobili Lamborghini) reported this defect to federal regulators on Jun 23, 2021 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 2,701. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Lamborghini (Automobili Lamborghini) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Huracan vehicles. In temperatures below 41°F, the rearview camera may not display due to a software error in the infotainment system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

The risk

A rearview camera that does not display an image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will update the instrument cluster software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 6, 2021. Owners may contact Lamborghini customer service at 1-866-681-6276. Lamborghini's number for this recall is L62X-R.01.21.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 21V466000.
