Arcimoto Inc reported this defect to federal regulators on Apr 6, 2021 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 252. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Arcimoto Inc. (Arcimoto) is recalling certain 2019-2021 FUV, 2020-2021 Deliverator and Roadster, and 2021 Rapid Responder motorcycles. The inverters firmware may allow the vehicles battery to shutdown without warning.
The risk
Opening the main contactor may cause a battery shutdown and loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Arcimoto will notify owners, and will update the firmware, free of charge. The recall began April 27, 2021. Owners may contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293.
