Forest River, Inc.: Engine and Engine Cooling › Engine › Oil/Lubrication
Forest River, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Sep 25, 2020 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 79. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Dynamax Isata vehicles. Inadequate warmup protection can cause a lack of oil film on the engine connecting rod bearings while the engine is reaching operating temperature. This can result in engine damage and connecting rod failure, which could potentially puncture the engine block.
The risk
A damaged engine block may leak oil, which can contact hot engine or exhaust components, increasing the risk of a fire.
The remedy
Forest River will notify owners, and FCA dealers will reprogram the engine calibration software to enhance the engine warm up protection, free of charge. The recall began October 13, 2020. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-1234. FCA's number for this recall is W57.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 20V591000.
