NHTSA campaign 20V442000 · Part 573 safety recall report

REV Recreation Group: Electrical System › 12v/24v/48v Battery

REV Recreation Group reported this defect to federal regulators on Jul 29, 2020 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 155. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

REV Recreation Group (REV) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Fleetwood Pace Arrow motorhomes, models 33D, 36U, 35QS, 35S, 35RB and 35E. The auxiliary batteries, located inside the interior step compartment, were secured in place with a metal hold-down bracket secured with carriage bolts and standard nuts. This hardware may loosen and allow the metal hold-down bracket to shift or move and make contact with the battery terminals.

The risk

If the bracket contacts the battery terminal it may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

The remedy

REV will notify owners, and dealers will install replacement battery hold-down mounting hardware, free of charge. The recall began September 17, 2020. Owners may contact REV customer service at 1-800-509-3417. REV's number for this recall is 200728REV.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 20V442000.
