Triple E Recreational Vehicles: Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/Trailer › Lpg Systems › Lines and Fittings

Triple E Recreational Vehicles reported this defect to federal regulators on Dec 11, 2019 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 6. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Triple E Recreational Vehicles (Triple E) is recalling certain 2020 Unity U24RL trailers. The propane tubing for the water heater may be routed too close to the tire tread possibly resulting in contact between the tire and the tubing.

The risk

Tire contact with the propane tubing can create a hole in the tubing, releasing propane gas, increasing the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

The remedy

Triple E will notify owners, and dealers will install a metal shield around the propane tubing for protection, free of charge. The recall began December 30, 2019. Owners may contact Triple E customer service at 1-877-992-9906. Triple E's number for this recall is CA#9572-1.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 19V884000.
