NHTSA campaign 19V746000 · Part 573 safety recall report

Keystone RV Company: Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/Trailer › Lpg Systems › Lines and Fittings

Keystone RV Company reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 18, 2019 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 5. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.

The defect

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2020 Dutchmen Atlas 3382BH trailers. The trailers may have a non-metallic propane supply hose installed inside the burner box of the cooktop, instead of a copper supply hose.

The risk

Under certain conditions, the heat from the range burner may cause the hose to melt and leak propane, increasing the risk of a fire or an injury.

The remedy

Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will remove the non-metallic propane gas line and attach it to a copper propane gas line, free of charge. The recall began November 15, 2019. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 19-363.

What this page is, and what to do next

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.

This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 19V746000.
