Daimler Trucks North America LLC: Back Over Prevention › Sensing System › Camera
Daimler Trucks North America LLC reported this defect to federal regulators on Aug 22, 2019 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 11. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Thomas Built Minotour school buses. The school buses may be missing backup cameras. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."
The risk
The lack of rear visibility increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy
DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will add a backup camera system, free of charge. DTNA issued owners an interim notification date on October 11, 2019. The recall began December 23, 2019. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-825.

What this page is, and what to do next
A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 19V620000.
